Demon Hunter: I have a red gourd
Chapter 65 Trading
Chapter 65 Trading
"I am a human being, but after contracting a disease, my eyes became like this." Ivan hesitated and spoke.
This high-level vampire didn't even know that humans had come to this world, so it was obviously impossible for him to know any information about the demon hunter.
After figuring out his real age, Ivan didn't want to fight this high-level vampire even more.
Who knows how strong such an old high-level vampire is? Could he be almost as strong as the Shadow Elder?
Can't be bothered.
So, there is no need to reveal your true identity to him.
If he told him that he was a demon hunter and that his daily job was to find monsters like him that posed a threat to humans and earn gold coins after hunting them, then this high-level vampire would probably transform into a bat and pounce on him in the next second.
"If you were a human," the black-robed man smiled, "then I'm afraid all the elves in this world would have been exterminated by you."
"I can smell your power from your blood. It's very strong. If all humans were at your level, those arrogant elves would never be able to stand up to you."
Although the guessed route was not quite correct, the result was actually right.
"Now, the outside world is indeed dominated by humans. However, the elves have not become extinct, but live together with humans." Ivan replied.
"I've lived through so much time," the black-robed man said softly, his voice gentle and elegant, revealing a calm composure. "From my experience, I can roughly deduce what happened to the elves."
"I was originally planning to continue sleeping, but seeing you, a human, coming, I suddenly became interested in the outside world."
"My name is Isidore. What's yours? If you don't mind, could you tell me what the outside world has been like during the years I've been asleep?"
He sighed softly, a hint of nostalgia in his tone. "About eight hundred years ago, I struck a deal with an elven sage. He allowed me to rest in this elven tomb, in exchange for a drop of my blood essence every hundred years for his experiments."
"The elves haven't bothered me in centuries, so they must have left. In that case, consider that drop of blood as payment for asking you questions. It took me fifty years of sleep to accumulate this drop of blood essence, so it's definitely worth asking you a few questions."
Ivan's hand gently brushed over the potion bottle containing the drop of blood at his waist. Could this be the blood essence of a high-level vampire?
Although the demon hunter is an expert in dealing with monsters, he has almost no record of hunting high-level vampires, and the records in the classics are not very detailed, so he doesn't know what the use of this drop of blood is.
"My name is Ivan. I'm wondering what information about the outside world you'd like to know, Isidore? I can tell you anything I know."
"Then let's start with when you humans came to this world. You're trapped here because of the conjunction of the celestial spheres, right?"
"That's right," Ivan nodded. "Although I'm young, I've fortunately read books that record human history. They say humans came into this world in the eighth century due to the celestial conjunction."
"The eighth century? You just said it was 1262, which is exactly four hundred years off."
"It seems you humans are quite fast. Not long after we arrived, the elves evacuated. I was lucky enough to enjoy four hundred years of peaceful sleep." Isidore smiled. "Don't worry about me sympathizing with the elves. I only made deals with the elven sages because it's quiet here. I don't have any personal connections with them."
"I saw with my own eyes what the elves did to the goblins, so they deserved it."
"I think you've figured out that I'm a vampire. Next, I want to ask, have you seen any of my kind outside? Have you seen, or is there any record in your history of, them acting together on a large scale?"
Ivan thought to himself, "This must be a question about whether he has ever missed a call from the Shadow Elder. Judging by how seriously he takes it, missing a call would likely be a severe punishment for a high-ranking vampire."
"No." He shook his head. "In fact, this is the first time I've seen a high-level vampire. If you're talking about the lower-level ones, like blood demons, there are still many in the outside world."
"They don't deserve to be called vampires." Isidore waved his hand dismissively. "They are just brainless beasts."
"Since you appear before me today, does this mean that humans have discovered this tomb? Will you flock here in large numbers in the future? If so, I think I'll have to find another place to continue sleeping."
"No," Ivan replied, "I ended up here by accident because of a portal created by a magic circle, and that portal has now disappeared. The location of this elven ruin is very secluded, and I guess no one will come here to disturb your sleep for a long time."
"Then I'm relieved." Isidore replaced the coffin lid on top of the coffin. "In that case, I'm fine. Now I'm going to go back to sleep. I don't like noise, so please don't make too much noise. Remember to close the door of the tomb when you leave."
"Wait, Isidore, can I ask you a few questions?" Ivan interrupted him.
None of his muscles relaxed, and he was always on guard against Isidore's sneak attack.
This high-level vampire has lived longer than the entire history of mankind and must know a lot of secret knowledge.
Even though he knew this might anger him, Ivan felt it was worth taking the risk to get more useful information from him.
"Oh? What do you want to ask me?" Isidore turned his head, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "I was paid for asking the question just now. Now it's your turn."
"If you want to ask a question, you have to think about it first. What do you plan to exchange for it?"
"What do you want?" Ivan said in a deep voice, "Only what I have can be exchanged."
Isidore smiled and licked his lips. "After sleeping for so long, I feel a little thirsty."
"Do you have any wine with you? If it's human wine, not elf wine, I've already gotten tired of their fruit wine after so many years."
"You humans are new here, so you must be able to brew something new, right? I want to try some new flavors."
