Demon Hunter: I have a red gourd
Chapter 57 Familiar Techniques
Chapter 57 Familiar Techniques
However, having said this, Ivan didn't intend to say anything more.
It's hard to persuade a damned ghost with kind words. This might be the way it is in this era, where bloodline is paramount. Their ancestors may have suffered all the hardships of their future generations when they landed on this continent, so their descendants are so convinced of the superiority of bloodline.
Ivan just wants to live his own life and doesn't want to bother being a revolutionary who changes their minds.
Perhaps only after being hurt by Nilfgaard will these northerners truly begin to examine the superiority of their own bloodline.
Ivan was silent for a long time, then stood up and said to Roche, "These demons are very weak. You just need to rest here. I can deal with the demons in the other two villages myself."
"After clearing out all the demons, I will find out the reason for their accelerated emergence and solve all the problems at once."
"Thank you for your help, Ivan. Do you need Weiss's help? She's an archer with sharp eyesight. She can help you locate the demon spirit just as quickly as before."
"No need." Ivan shook his head. "I am enough on my own."
"Okay. You demon hunters are experts in eliminating demons, so I won't say much." Roche patted Ivan's shoulder, "Thank you for your help."
"It's just a deal." Ivan smiled. "This is what I should do."
"By the way, if you want to bury these bodies, remember to bury them deep. Otherwise, the ghouls will dig them out and eat them."
Ivan walked out of the village, untied Chiyan's reins, and rushed towards the locations of the other two villages.
Roche looked at Ivan's departing back, lost in thought.
After a while, he slowly turned his head and looked at Weiss who was standing quietly beside him, his expression becoming serious and earnest.
"Send someone to inform Taler to compile all the intelligence related to Nilfgaard in the past ten years and bring it to me." He paused, a hint of vigilance flashing in his eyes, and continued:
"Also, from now on, have Taler dispatch a group of spies from various locations to monitor Nilfgaard's movements. They must closely monitor their every move, from major military deployments and diplomatic actions to minor trade exchanges and personnel movements. Not a single subtle movement can be overlooked. Report any unusual developments to me immediately."
"Okay." Weiss nodded, but she was still a little confused. "Didn't you say that Nilfgaard couldn't have done this? Why are we still paying attention to them?"
"This young demon hunter is quite extraordinary. He has a keen eye for detail and is always able to catch details that others would easily overlook."
Roche frowned. "After his reminder, I only just realized that we paid too little attention to the empire in the south."
"Think about it, we don't even know the size of their army or the financial situation of their country. These are crucial pieces of information." Roche's eyes grew dark. "Even stranger still, no one has ever mentioned any of this to the king. Why is that?"
Three hours later.
[Ghoul Spirit*7, Demon Spirit*70 collected, Spiritual Essence +770]
Ivan collected the last handful of evil spirit dust and materials from the zombies on the battlefield filled with a foul smell, and put the dagger back into his waist.
These demons were too weak and there were a lot of them. In addition, the gains in the first village allowed him to unlock even the demon incarnations.
This number suggests that every soul that died has been transformed into a demonic spirit, indicating that the factors affecting them cover a wide range, but the fluctuations in magical power are not strong. The ghouls are consistent with the descriptions in the founder's "Demon Hunter's Notes," but they are now well-fed and lack a strong desire to fight. After Ivan killed a few, the remaining ghouls began to flee.
They were very fast, and Ivan had to be on guard against sneak attacks from the demons at all times, so he only left seven of them.
Resisting the pungent smell, Ivan carefully examined the wounds on the corpses in the two villages that had not been bitten by zombies.
He looked solemn, and his brows furrowed even more with each corpse he examined.
He found that the necks of these dead people all had the same scars as the corpse in the first village. The wounds were long and neat, as if they were precisely cut by a sharp blade.
The other parts of the body bore the same obvious injuries as the first. Some were pierced by arrows, others were dented by maces. Compared to the wound on the neck, these injuries were far more severe and noticeable.
Ivan was absolutely certain this was a deliberate frame-up. Bows and arrows were the elves' primary method of attack, while the dwarves favored heavy weapons like maces and long axes. These two combined pointed the finger directly at the Scoia'tael.
In fact, investigating how these people died and who framed the Squirrel Party had nothing to do with Ivan. This was something Roche should be concerned about.
He was just completing his commission, killing these demons and finding the source of their mutation. There was no need to get involved.
But Ivan couldn't resist his curiosity and examined all the bodies. There was no other reason, simply because the wounds on their necks looked too familiar to him.
Why familiar?
That’s because, if it were him, he would also use this method if he wanted to kill such a large number of humans quickly!
This was what his demon hunter mentors taught him. It was the most effective way to deal with humanoid monsters, especially those enemies with weaknesses in the throat!
The murderer is most likely a demon hunter!
He is related to Nilfgaard and is a demon hunter.
The first person Ivan thought of was Reso, the bald guy from the Snake School.
He could assassinate the kings of the northern kingdoms in order to revive his school, but would he massacre so many innocent people for the same reason?
Ivan had never met Reso, so he didn't know.
But he didn't think so.
If Letho was really such a cold-blooded and heartless person who would do anything to achieve his goals, then given Geralt's personality, he would not become friends with him.
But if it wasn't Letho, then which witcher would do such a thing?
Is he from the School of Cats? Or is he just an ordinary person who learned swordsmanship from a demon hunter?
Just as Ivan was lost in thought, he suddenly felt a strong wave coming from the hill outside the village, causing the badge on his chest to vibrate.
Is this the magic tide?
Could it be that this is the source of the accelerated appearance of these demons?
Ivan adjusted the two swords behind him, mounted his chestnut horse Chiyan, and headed towards the source of the magic tide.
