Demon Hunter: I have a red gourd
Chapter 28 Melting
Chapter 28 Melting
"Damn it, what's going on?" Trico rubbed his eyes, as if he was drunk and his eyes were blurry.
He frowned, unscrewed the second bottle, and poured the wine into the gourd again. However, the result was the same - the liquid level in the gourd did not change at all.
"Bring ten more bottles!" Trico turned to the waiter and continued to unscrew the caps of the bottles on the table.
The waiter brought more dwarven liquor, and Trico, like a man possessed, poured bottle after bottle. His movements changed from casual at first to increasingly anxious, even frantic.
"This is impossible!" Trico finally cried out as the fiftieth bottle of dwarven liquor was almost empty. "How could such a small gourd possibly need so much liquor?"
"It's not full yet." Ivan smiled slightly, picked up the gourd and shook it, making a hollow sound.
"I've already told you, this is a magical item made by a warlock. Its only feature is its ability to be stored. After all, our journey as witchers is very long. How can we not prepare some strong liquor?"
"Well, it's not too late to give up now."
Trico leaned back in the soft chair and laughed heartily. "Brother, I'm willing to abandon my caravan business just to taste the wine you said was better than East of East. What's a little dwarven liquor to me? You want me to back down? No way!"
He waved his hand and shouted to the waiter heroically: "Keep bringing the wine, by the barrel!"
With the help of the waiter, two large barrels of dwarven liquor were poured into the red gourd continuously. Until the last drop of wine slid in, the liquid level in the gourd finally rose to the bottle mouth, indicating that this magical container had reached its limit.
Ivan put away the gourd, and while no one was paying attention, he quickly poured out a little of the brew into his small bottle of potion.
The bottle hadn't been used yet, so there was no need to worry about any residual toxicity harming Trico.
Trico opened his sleepy, drunken eyes, his face flushed. "Brother, your gourd is full. Where's the wine you promised me?"
"Here's the wine." Ivan pretended to have just taken it out of his arms and handed the bottle over. "This is what you want."
Trico squinted his eyes at the unremarkable little bottle, and an expression of disgust suddenly appeared on his face.
"That's it? You're not trying to tell me that a wine even more delicious than East of the East is packed in an ordinary little bottle like this?"
"You look down on it?" Ivan raised a faint smile. "If you don't drink it, I'll keep it. It's much more precious than Dong Zhi Dong. If you miss it in this lifetime, you may never have the chance to taste it again."
"Hmph! Even if it tastes terrible, I'm going to give it a try!" Trico grabbed the bottle, as if afraid Ivan would snatch it away. "I'm going to prove that it's you who has the problem with your taste! There's no way in the world there's a better wine than Dong Zhi Dong!"
He pulled out the cork and drank the wine in the bottle. However, the moment the wine entered his mouth, he froze.
Trico's eyes widened, his expression quickly shifting from initial disdain to shock, then complete fervor. As soon as he took a sip, the rich, complex aromas of the wine exploded in his mouth, like the beginning of a grand, luxurious, and imaginatively gorgeous feast.
He moved slowly, his Adam's apple moving slightly, and swallowed the wine bit by bit, wanting to lock this wonderful feeling deep in his memory.
"My Lord, Meritel, what on earth is this? This can't even be called wine; it's a miracle bestowed by the gods!" Trico muttered, his voice trembling slightly. "You're right. Compared to this, Dong Zhi Dong is nothing but horse urine! It's not even worth mentioning!"
He suddenly turned to look at Ivan, his expression almost crazed. He grinned, revealing a flattering smile, but it looked a bit ferocious due to excessive excitement.
"Brother, no, you are my elder brother! Do you still have this kind of wine? Give me another sip, please, even just one drop, I am willing to trade anything for it!"
"You're too drunk. Let's wait until you sober up." Ivan looked at his flushed face and couldn't help but think, if he drank any more, who knows if he would go crazy and do something shocking.
Trico stumbled to his feet, his steps a bit unsteady, with the persistence of a drunk. He staggered over to Ivan and raised his hand as if to pat his shoulder, but his movements became erratic due to his drunkenness.
"Ivan, the first time I saw you, I knew you were a friend worth making close friends with!" He chuckled and suddenly took a step closer. "Can't you give me just one more drop of that magical wine? Just one drop will do!"
Ivan shook his head helplessly. "Trico, I told you, you are too drunk now, wait-"
Before he could finish his words, Trico seemed to have lost his balance, slipped, and fell towards Ivan. In order to stabilize his center of gravity, he instinctively stretched out his hands to grab Ivan's collar.
However, due to his halfling height, his hand only reached Ivan's chest and grabbed the cold, hard object he had hidden under his clothes.
That was the Griffin School witcher badge that Ivan always carried.
And the Demon Hunter badge happens to be made of silver.
The sudden change!
The moment Trico touched the badge, his body suddenly began to melt, like a wax figure encountering flames, rapidly collapsing. In an instant, like a pool of mud without support, it tumbled uncontrollably to the ground with a crashing sound, slowly spreading out.
The halfling who was just lively and energetic turned into a monster made of mud and flour in the blink of an eye.
Ivan stood up suddenly, concentrating his mind on communicating with the witcher badge on his chest, raised his left hand, and quickly formed a hand seal with his fingers.
An invisible wave spread out instantly, and just as the waiter and several of Trico's men in the room were about to scream, their eyes became dull, their bodies went limp, and they fell to the ground, falling into a coma.
Axis Sign - also an exclusive improved version of the Griffin School.
Originally, it could only affect the target's mind when his mind was distracted, and was used for charm or temporary control.
However, after being improved by the Griffin School, this sigil was given new abilities: it could not only work on a group, but it could also instantly cause multiple people to fall into confusion or lose consciousness without having to use the charm effect, making it perfect for this situation.
"Mimic." Ivan said in a low voice, looking at the monster in front of him that looked like a pool of mud.
Thank you for the reward from the evil person, thank you very much
