Chapter 24 Big Cat is My Friend
Thanks to the old man, Lin Xin finally experienced an ancient means of transportation. The old man was indeed as famous as he said. The carriage looked ordinary on the outside, but it was very comfortable inside. Apart from the poor shock absorption that almost broke her butt into pieces, there was nothing else to fault with it.

As we entered the village, the sky became darker and the air was filled with moisture mixed with the smell of earth. It was estimated that the rain that was about to fall would be quite heavy.

"Is your carriage waterproof?" Lin Xin would never admit that she was gloating.

"You naughty girl, will you die if you just let me, an old man, have a meal?" the old man said angrily, his mustache twitching up and down, which looked particularly funny.

"That's a bit unreasonable. I'm just worried about you. It looks like it's going to rain. Don't let it rain heavily outside while it drizzles in your car. That would be so painful!" Lin Xin teased him.

"Shut up, you little bitch!" The old man blew his beard and glared.

"If you don't want to tell me, then don't tell me. It's not like it won't rain if I don't tell you, huh!" Lin Xin muttered with her head down.

It was getting late and a heavy rain was about to come. Almost all the villagers stayed at home. Some curious people heard the sound of horse hooves and wheels and opened the door to look outside. They saw a carriage parked in front of Lin Xin's house. They had originally stepped out to watch the excitement, but then they turned back.

The scene of Lin Lao Er's ghost appearing seems like yesterday. It would be fine to say hello to Lin Xin when he saw her on the way, but forget about going to her house.

Lin Xin breathed a sigh of relief. She was quite afraid of those people coming over to ask questions, especially those aunts and sisters. They were extremely powerful and asked questions as tricky as the paparazzi in modern society. She felt that she could not handle it. It would be bad if she could not help but beat someone up.

As for whether they discussed it behind closed doors when they got home, she didn't care, as long as it wasn't in front of her.

After getting off the carriage, the old man looked at the wall of Lin Xin's house and said with a tut-tut sound: "You little girl, you really didn't lie to me. Your family is really poor."

"I know that without you having to remind me. Come on in!" Lin Xin rolled her eyes at him, opened the gate, and stepped aside to make way. "The carriage definitely can't get in. What should I do?"

"Just park it outside the door. What if it gets lost?" The old man said as he stepped into the yard. As soon as he entered the door, he was face to face with a big tiger lying under the eaves.

"I am... old... tiger..." The old man's body suddenly stiffened, his eyes widened, his lips trembled and he couldn't speak clearly.

She completely ignored Lin Nan who ran over, hugged Lin Xin's thighs and said coquettishly, "Sister, you are back."

"Haha, I told you not to scare yourself to death when you get to my house, but you just don't believe me. Look, look." Although Lin Xin didn't say she would forgive him, she put her hand on the old man's back, and her wood-type ability silently traveled around his body. It was a joke, but don't really scare the old man to death, otherwise it would be a sin.

After the initial visual shock wore off, with the blessing of his supernatural powers, the old man recovered quite quickly, at least much better than the young apprentice who was driving the carriage behind him. The young man was still leaning against the door frame and shaking his legs!
"Girl, you can do it! You have brought the tiger here. Let's make a deal. I will cover your family's medical treatment and medicine in the future. Just give me the tiger bones!" The old man who had recovered quickly stared at the big tiger with shining eyes. In his eyes, this big guy was a treasure in every way!

Out of an instinctive reaction to danger, the big tiger's hair on its back stood up, and it turned its head and looked over with a pair of yellow eyes. The old man was sobered by the look, and with agility that was extremely inconsistent with his age, he hid behind Lin Xin.

"You deserve it! You dared to set your sights on a living tiger? You're being polite by not eating it." Lin Xin rolled her eyes. "You've even paid for my medical treatment and medicine. Is it really that hard for you to hope for my recovery?"

"I... I'm used to it! How could I remember that it was alive?" The old man defended himself in a small voice with grievance.

Lin Xin was also helpless. "If you keep pulling me along like this, I won't be able to cook. Are you still going to eat?"

"Eat, of course I should eat! I finally got to visit your house and I almost lost my life to a scare. I need to eat something to calm my nerves." The old man said, releasing his grip on Lin Xin's arm. He looked down at Lin Nan, who was looking at him with a stern face, and immediately smiled with wrinkles all over his face. "Hey, little one, do you still remember me?" Lin Nan's face remained stern, but he nodded. "You're the grandfather who bought my big radish."

The old man was even happier. Just as he was about to praise the boy for his good memory, he heard the child say to him seriously, "Grandpa, even though you spent a lot of money to buy our big carrot, you can't take Big Cat's bones away. Without bones, Big Cat can't survive. Big Cat is my friend. Now that it's injured, I have to protect it."

A little guy as tall as a bean sprout said seriously that he wanted to protect a big tiger that could swallow him in one bite. The scene was so funny that the little old man couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"Grandpa, I'm serious." Lin Nan said dissatisfiedly.

"Okay, grandpa won't take the big cat's bones, that's okay!" The old man also became serious and promised Lin Nan seriously that he really didn't dare and didn't have the ability to take it.

"Okay, that's enough. Then come in and sit down, grandpa! And uncle, you sit down too." Lin Nan, the master of keeping things in check, brought two small stools from the kitchen door.

"Okay, okay, sit down," the old man didn't mind the low bench and walked over to sit down. His old hands were eager to touch the tiger's smooth fur. He was really envious.

The young apprentice who drove the carriage did not have such good psychological quality as him. He could not convince himself to interact with a live tiger at close range. After thinking about it, he took the medicinal herbs packed by his master and sneaked to the kitchen.

Seeing that Lin Nan greeted her well, Lin Xin carried the backpack in one hand and went into the kitchen. She did not forget the purpose of the old man's visit to her house, and began to wash rice and vegetables with quick movements.

The young apprentice, clutching a bunch of things, also slipped into the kitchen along the wall. Seeing Lin Xin looking over, he stammered awkwardly, "Miss, I'm here to help you."

"No need, I'm very quick, go out and have a rest, little brother!"

"No, no, no, I'm here to help." The little apprentice shook his head like a rattle and said to her firmly.

Lin Xin turned her head to look at him, and just saw him sticking to the door and looking out. She understood what was going on, and the big tiger was scared.

"Don't be afraid. Tigers don't bite. Look, Nan Nan is having a great time playing with it." Lin Xin comforted him.

"Yes, it's very good." The boy looked at Lin Nan lying on the big tiger and chatting with his master, with a tuft of tiger hair curled in his little hand. He swallowed hard and gave Lin Xin a thumbs up.

"Then can you help me light the fire?" Seeing that the boy really didn't dare to go out, Lin Xin had to find him a job.

"Okay, okay, okay. I often help the master boil medicine, so I'm very good at making fire." The young man immediately sat down in front of the stove happily.

Lin Xin worked quickly. In less than an hour, four dishes and a soup, including braised pork, pheasant stewed with mushrooms, stir-fried shredded vegetables, sweet and sour spareribs, and cordyceps and duck soup, were served on the table. The fragrant aroma wafted out from the kitchen door. The old and young who were chatting in the yard and the tiger lying on the ground acting as a blanket all sniffed, their eyes glued to the kitchen door and they couldn't tear their eyes away.

"Dinner is ready!" Lin Xin's voice sounded like the sound of nature. The little old man jumped up and quickly ran to the table to sit down. He placed his hands on the table properly, and looked as well-behaved as Lin Nan.
