Chapter 106: Head Seizing

Chapter 106: Head Seizing
The area around the magic array was cleaned up, and Roland took out the Ranger Maintenance Guide to study the array.

"Wait, you guy, how come you don't even know how to maintain the barrier, and you want to learn it on the spot? Is this your first time patrolling the forest?" Elena was very annoyed.

Roland said without even looking up, "I'm a freshman."

He pointed to the junior apprentices who were helping out: "These people are my seniors."

Elena was stunned. Roland's words left her with no way to refute.

This kid is indeed a freshman, and I had overestimated him before.

"Do your own research."

Elena took her men away. She had no intention of leaving anyone behind to guard Roland. They had Roland's belongings and could track him down or cast a spell on him at any time.

What's more, there are so many of them. If they let a small low-level apprentice run away, it would be simply laughable.

Roland was dawdling around the array, fiddling with things here and there, working without putting in any effort.

Half an hour later, it was already dark, and two groups of people came to check on the situation.

After a while, Elena came down again with a group of people with a grim face.

"Get out of the way, you piece of shit!"

She pushed Roland away impatiently, snatched the Ranger's Manual, and led her men to repair the magic array.

Elena is very skilled in magic circles, and with a lot of manpower, she is very efficient in getting things done.

After dozens of minutes, everyone finished their work in sweat.

"Go back and learn more. You're simply tarnishing the reputation of this great family!"

Alina threw the manual to Roland with an unhappy look on her face and took everyone back to the camp to eat.

Looking at the repaired magic array in front of him, Roland smiled.

"I got another 15 points, making it 35 points now. I've passed this patrol mission."

"It's a shame I don't have time to repair this cabin. If you're willing to spend a day repairing it, you can get an extra 5 points."

Roland collected the things left by Alina and others in the basement.

After a while, Roland collected a lot of people's hair and other items in his hands.

These things would allow Roland to track each person, making it easier for him to hunt them down later.

After dinner, Roland sat in front of the fire pit and made his ranger report, while Fat Barbie sat on a tree stump near Roland and dealt with the monsters.

Barbie was responsible for looking after Roland, although she didn't take it too seriously. But whenever she had free time, she would stay with Roland.

After finishing the report, Roland looked back and saw that Barbie had killed and skinned all the fire lizards.

"These salamanders are alive, why did you kill them?" Roland was furious. They were his trophies. He even planned to keep one as a pet!
Barbie acted as if she didn't hear Roland's words and licked the blood off the fire lizards with her tongue.

After stuffing two into her mouth, she glanced at Roland indifferently, then threw a pile of fire lizard skins at his feet: "Your pet."

Roland sneered in his heart: "It seems that she is treating my storage bag as her own."

Barbie kept three of the salamanders alive and ate the rest.

Seeing the three living fire lizards, Roland breathed a sigh of relief. He thought to himself, "This big fat girl has some good taste. She saved the three best ones. You can keep them for me first."

Roland carefully processed the fire lizard skin and then began to meditate beside the fire pit.

Barbie looked at Roland's sitting posture and had a very strange expression on her face.

It turns out that Roland always sits cross-legged when he meditates!

It can be said to be unique.

However, some people who practice physical training will occasionally sit like this - similar to yoga.

She muttered to herself, "A Muggle wizard from the country, so weird," and ignored him.

While Roland was meditating, a doll kept floating into his arms.

He opened his eyes and looked at the short girl Sally not far away.

Sally smiled shyly at Roland and threw out another doll. Then the doll disappeared inexplicably and appeared in Roland's arms the next moment.

Roland thought to himself, "So it's you! No wonder you were able to track me down." He then pondered, "Sairi is easy to kill, but if I want to kill her completely, I'll need to plan carefully."

"The Ye Se family is also a noble family. They must have powerful artifacts."

"I have to choose a safer time to strike."

As the sky grew darker, everyone began to rest, and the lower-level apprentices took turns to keep watch.

In the middle of the night, two low-level apprentices went out of the camp to play and did not return after more than an hour.

Someone was about to go look for her, but Barbie, who was meditating, opened her eyes and said, "Don't go, she's dead."

Elena beside her also opened her eyes. She looked deeply into the forest and said, "Don't go outside the barrier at night."

Selina pulled Elena and said, "Then, the big sister in red has been following us all the way."

A sinister look flashed across Alina's eyes. Many creatures had followed the group along the way, but most had left mid-route. But this one haunted them.

She looked at Lin Wai, smiled coldly, and ignored him.

At dawn the next day, there were only 12 people left in the team.

Seri did a divination and then looked into the crystal ball.

After looking at the crystal ball for a while, Alina understood.

Those two people said they were going to the bathroom last night, but they were actually eating alone. After collecting the potion, they inexplicably got lost and ran to a very far place.

After seeing Sally's actions, Roland thought to himself, "So you're the one who can track me."

He ranked Sally as the first priority in his blacklist.

If you can only kill one person, choose Seri.

"Let's go and take a look together." Elena gathered everyone and headed towards the woods in the east to look for the two missing low-level apprentices.

Soon, everyone found two bodies.

The two bodies were standing, their heads had been torn off and then turned over and pressed back on their necks.

They were bleeding from all seven orifices, their eyes had been gouged out, their internal organs had been hollowed out, and their souls were gone.

Some timid low-level apprentices were so frightened that their legs went weak after seeing the deaths of these two people.

Roland had chatted with the two of them while setting up camp in the evening. However, everyone along the way had spoken to Roland. Because he was the guide, he had a map of the potion distribution and knew exactly where the good stuff was.

No one suspected the guide.

They chose their destination and route, and their final destination. Roland was the first to propose repairing the barrier.

He really wasn't suspicious at all.

"Stop arguing for now." Alina was upset. She glared at the short Sally and asked, "What are you doing?"

Everyone looked back and saw that the timid junior sister was putting a wreath on the head of the corpse.

She looked at everyone, smiled a sickly smile, and said, "Don't you think they're beautiful? Alina, I've always liked James and Jeffrey. I know they've signed an agreement with the society, but can you give them to me!!!"

Alina showed a look of disgust: "Take it away! Stop disgusting me here."

Sally was overjoyed. She stretched out her hand and pointed, and the two corpses picked up their heads and crawled to her side like dogs.

"My dear babies, your mother is here to love you."

Seri trembled all over as she put the two bodies into the bag, then looked cautiously at the lower-level apprentices around her.

Everyone's faces turned extremely ugly and they all avoided her gaze.

Sally's gaze finally fell on Roland. She moved her lips slightly and lip-synched: You are my favorite.

Roland glanced at her indifferently and replied with a lip message: You don't deserve it.

"We have to force that thing out." Alina looked at the forest and said, "Seri, do you have any ideas?"

"Yes, but we need a bait." Sally stretched out her trembling hand and pointed at Roland excitedly.

Roland didn't bother to pay attention to her. Bait or not, he had a plan.
