Chapter 5 Initial Elf
"Qin Zhen! Stand up! If I have a Charmander in my hand and it can use 'Metal Claws' right after birth, then what kind of spirit is the father of this Charmander?"

"Only when one Pokémon is the parent will Charmander inherit Metal Claws, so the answer is Ironclad and its evolved form, Ironclad."

"Well, that's good. So, the second question is, where do wild Alcanthosaurus live?"

"...Mr. Chen, this is probably a question you'd only ask in geography class, right?"

"Just answer!"

"Okay, so... the Padia region?"

"What kind of nonsense are you making up? What Padia? It's the Iberian Peninsula of the European Union! You're not studying seriously all day! Sit down!"

Qin Zhen sat down slowly and rubbed his fingers helplessly. He actually did not answer wrong. Before his rebirth, the Pokémon Ardipis first appeared in the game "Pokémon Vermilion". The story of that game took place on a giant peninsula called Padia, so it was completely correct to say that Padia was Ardipis' hometown.

As for that Iberian Peninsula? God knows how it is related to the aluminum and steel bridge dragons.

At this moment, six days have passed since Qin Zhen returned to the age of seventeen. He has gradually become accustomed to this new world with more elves. The only thing that troubles him is that he does not have the amount of knowledge that a senior high school student in this world view should have. Once the teacher calls on him to answer a question, he can only use the game knowledge he memorized before his rebirth. If he goes off topic a little, he will be doomed.

Oh, I don't know what to do when the college entrance examination comes...

While Qin Zhen was daydreaming, he reached into the desk drawer and touched the two sandwiches that were still warm.

Old man Chen stood on the podium, glared at the absent-minded Qin Zhen, picked up the pointer and slammed the table hard.

"Before lunch break, I have to give a brief reminder: Tomorrow is the last day of the exchange week. After school tomorrow, all the three starters who haven't found a trainer will leave by bus."

"You've all heard the story of Socrates' disciples and the wheat ears. I hope some of you won't hesitate and make a decision soon, lest you end up with nothing. Okay! get out of class dismissed!"

When he heard the word "get out of class dismissed", Qin Zhen immediately stood up with his back bent. He put the two sandwiches in the drawer into his arms and ran out through the back door. When he opened the door, he scared a water otter that was resting against the door.

But after he took a few steps, there was another person in front of him.

"Well, Lao Qin, I found my starting Pokémon. It's Nuannuan Pig, the one that spit fireballs at us that night. I've already taken it to register..."

"Oh, congratulations, I wish you a happy marriage and a baby soon." Qin Zhen bowed and prepared to walk away from the little round-faced girl.

"Lao Qin! Don't leave yet! Listen to me!"

Shao Bai moved sideways and opened his hands to block Qin Zhen.

"Look, Lao Qin, I see you've been acting mysterious these past few days and haven't interacted much with the three starter Pokémons at school. My brother has a girlfriend, also a Nunuan pig, and that pig girl hasn't found a trainer either. So, I thought, why don't I just act as an introducer and arrange a meeting between you two?"

"Thank you very much, but I personally prefer free love to blind dates."

Qin Zhen thanked him repeatedly, and at the same time, he bent down and slipped under Shao Bai's arm.

Shao Bai stood in the middle of the corridor, looking at Qin Zhen's hurried back. He raised his hand and touched the back of his head, his expression extremely confused.

"Why do you act like you're meeting your girlfriend?"

…………

With the sound of the sliding door's rollers turning, Qin Zhen walked briskly into the carport. "Millarton, it's me, I'm here."

Hearing the call, a piece of purple suddenly appeared from the corner of the carport. After confirming that it was Qin Zhen, Millerton let out a surprised hum. It jumped up, leaped across most of the carport corridor, and landed in front of Qin Zhen as lightly as a cat, without making any sound the whole time.

Qin Zhen reached out and scratched the other's iron chin, watching as Milton's dot matrix eyes refreshed into a straight line with satisfaction, an electronically synthesized snoring sound came from his throat, and a smile appeared on his face.

"Come, eat." He took out the two sandwiches from his arms.

Millerton stretched his neck to look at the sandwich in Qin Zhen's hand. He tilted his head, gently took one from Qin Zhen's hand, and then pushed the other one towards Qin Zhen with his head.

Qin Zhen understood what it meant, but he didn't refute it. He turned around and leaned against Millerton, tore open the sandwich wrapper in his hand, put it in his mouth and took a bite, while casually saying: "Millerton, our school's exchange week will end tomorrow."

"Gah?"

As Millerton munched on his sandwich, the display screen on his eyes flashed continuously. Finally, a question mark composed of dots slowly emerged.

Didn't this guy think that I was here to persuade him?

Qin Zhen smiled helplessly. He stuffed the sandwich he had taken a bite of into Millerton's mouth, then hugged the giant lizard's iron head and whispered beside the antenna that served as his ear: "What I mean is, if possible, I hope you can be mine..."

"Qin Zhen!"

The shout startled both Qin Zhen and Milton. Qin Zhen turned his head and saw a familiar face. A tall old man was standing behind the sliding door, frowning and staring at Qin Zhen and Milton who were pressed together. An orange tabby puppy was lying quietly at his feet.

Seeing a stranger, especially a stranger with an elf, Milton reflexively shrank his neck and hid behind Qin Zhen unconsciously.

— Is it Old Chen? Why is Old Chen here? Is it because of Milton…

Qin Zhen felt a little worried. He leaned over to protect Milton and forced a smile. "Teacher Chen? Why are you here?"

"I just happened to be passing by."

Teacher Chen looked at Qin Zhen and the Iron Lizard hiding timidly behind him, and frowned slightly.

"Qin Zhen, come here for a moment."

Old Chen stood there and waved from afar.

Qin Zhen nodded, stood up and followed the old man out of the carport.

The master and disciple didn't walk far. After leaving the carport, they picked a flower bed and sat down on the edge.

When sitting down, Qin Zhen couldn't help but glance at the puppy that always followed the head teacher's feet. The puppy had a smiling face and its orange fur looked fluffy and warm. It must be quite healing to rub it.

Noticing Qin Zhen's gaze, the orange-haired puppy seemed to understand something. It happily ran to Qin Zhen and squatted in front of him, sticking out its tongue and wagging its fluffy tail wildly, almost shaking it into a blooming dandelion.

"Wang!"
