Chapter 34: One of the Marshal and the Priest Must Be Crazy

Chapter 34: One of the Marshal and the Priest Must Be Obsessed

"Hello, Brother Romulus."

The priest behind Orlando obviously couldn't bear to watch the negotiation and squeezed forward.

"Before we arrived at the Little Pierrede Sector, two companies of the Nemesis Chapter lost contact in Pierrede, and now they are completely silent. The Emperor Tarot revealed the danger of this mission. The expeditionary fleet only dispatched 300 brothers, so we need to seek any possible help."

The pastor spoke much more pleasantly, explaining the reason in a calm tone.

Then he took out his divination records and showed them to everyone.

The Emperor Tarot is a divination tool used by humans who believe in the Emperor. Through rituals, it can be used to obtain omens of certain events. Usually, only those with a devout enough faith can receive the Emperor's revelation.

"The omen reveals that we are heading towards death, but there is still a ray of light in the darkness, and we need the help of strong reinforcements."

Arabella translated the information for the ancient saints. After all, the current state religion only became mainstream during the Age of Apostasy. Before that, the Empire's belief in the Emperor had not yet become a system.

"."

The pastor sensed something was wrong.

You have to know that a Grand Sister is on par with a Chapter Master in terms of authority, and even has a much stronger ability to mobilize Imperial forces than a Space Marine. It's good enough if she doesn't show any disdain to the Death Watch, which is a mix of cultures, a bunch of troublemakers, an eclectic style, and deals with alien creations every day.

And is the Grand Sister a little too respectful to these Death Watch brothers?
"Ah."

Romulus said he understood, and in his mind, he raised the importance of striving for combat effectiveness by an order of magnitude.

After all, the Black Templars are a chapter watched by the Emperor, so the credibility of divination is very high.

"Thank you for your analysis, Sister Arabella."

Although Romulus had refreshed his understanding of the outrageousness of the empire after reading the somewhat outdated information from the Great Shark, he did not have any prejudice against the nuns of the state religion.

They also understood that the current state of the empire could not be blamed on nuns like them.

Everyone knows that if killing a few people, or even a few high lords, can restore order and make the empire great again, I'm afraid that without anyone else doing anything, these high lords will find a high place to jump down.

As for the specific time travelers who plan to take a look, no matter how high or low, they cannot allow their future battle group's home planet to become such an abstract appearance.

"It's my pleasure."

Arabella bowed.

What she was most grateful for was that although these ancient saints did not agree with the current empire, they never forcibly denied it, but instead respected the faith and sacrifices of mankind over the past ten thousand years.

If the Emperor's successive manifestations made the time travelers win the respect of the nuns.

As for the time travelers, their approach of "not quite understanding, but respecting" and "never blaming the victims of their battles with various monsters and demons" during their actual interactions with the people of the empire easily won the nuns' sincere admiration.

I'm afraid it's more than just a little.

The priest carefully examined these Death Watch units bearing the insignia of the Ultramarines and Blood Angels, and felt something was not right.

"So you intend to invite us to deal with the Dark Eldar in order to enlist the assistance of the Prospector Fleet, right?"

After sorting out his thoughts, Romulus asked.

"But Inquisitor Aglaia forced the Archsage to agree to his harsh conditions in order to get the Prospector Fleet to accompany him. As a result, we lost twenty-seven brothers and now have gained nothing."

Orlando spoke directly, then glared at the Inquisitor.

"You are responsible for the deaths of our brothers due to your psychic sorcery." "This is the revelation given to me by the Emperor!"

Aglaia argued.

"That was merely an illusion bestowed upon you by sorcery! If you did not still bear the emblem bestowed upon you by the God-Emperor, you would be nothing more than another witch who should be purified on the spot."

Orlando glanced at Aglaia, his eyes showing no sign of concealing his disgust.

The priest was about to continue speaking when he helplessly watched the marshal, who was even more extreme than himself, get into another argument with the inquisitor.

He took a few people a few steps away and then apologized to everyone.

"Feel sorry."

"Understandable."

Romulus didn't care.

As for the Black Templar, there is always one marshal and priest in every expedition fleet who is possessed by a demon.

"So the Black Templars have different opinions on whether to aid the Prospector Fleet?"

"The Black Templars also support the Inquisitor's decision. The Emperor has revealed that we should strive for all possible assistance, so the participation of the Prospector Fleet is naturally a good thing."

Then the priest looked at the great sage again, his tone filled with indignation.

"But the requirements of the Great Sage Kaul are indeed quite harsh."

"What do you mean?"

pat~
A servo skull flew over, and the priest inserted the mission record into the slot behind the skull and began to describe the process of the attack to everyone.

"The Archsage and the expeditionary fleet reached a consensus on entering Pierrede under the recommendation of Inquisitor Aglaia. The Black Templars will ensure the Archsage's safety after landing. After completing the mission, the Archsage will provide us with ships depending on the results."

When talking about the model of the ship, the priest was deliberately vague and then pointed to the star map displayed in front of him.

"Both parties agreed to reunite in the Little Pierrede system and head to Pierrede together. However, when the Prospector Fleet arrived, before our fleet could respond, a Dark Eldar fleet that had been ambushing the Prospector Fleet attacked it."

"Those Dark Eldar were clearly hired by someone to intercept the Prospector Fleet in the Little Pierrede System. After the naval battle was lost, over 500 Dark Eldar directly occupied the furnace core at the rear of the Steel Soul, using it as a base to occupy a large area at the rear."

The holographic image showed the outline of the mechanical ark, and the red part at the tail was the area occupied by the Dark Eldar.

The priest used a marker to draw another core circle in it.

"The purpose of this Dark Eldar is very clear. They want to delay the exploration fleet in this system, even at the cost of sacrificing an entire fleet."

Having said that, the priest's tone, which seemed a little distorted due to the skull mask, was filled with helplessness. He raised his hand and directed everyone's attention to a Tormentor cruiser floating outside the porthole.

"And the sage was clearly also bound by it. He even left a cruiser for them after the naval victory and allowed us to leave early."

"But the Inquisitor still insists?"

Romulus looked at the inquisitor who was arguing with Marshal Orlando with his face flushed.

"That's right. She insisted that the psychic omen was the Emperor's guidance and that the Archmagos should accompany her. The Archmagos, in turn, demanded that the Dark Eldar invading the Ark be dealt with within five minutes, otherwise the warship would suffer unacceptable damage."
