Chapter 762 There is only one sun in my heart

Fu Kangan quickly led two thousand cavalrymen to surround the pasture of the Great Perfection Wisdom Master Kanbu.

The guards protecting the Great Perfection Wisdom Master wear Tibetan armor with a strong Tang Dynasty style.

Most of them still held long spears, with armor-piercing black-headed hammers hanging from their waists, as well as Shangma Tibetan knives, which were evolved from Tang horizontal swords, to deal with lightly armored or unarmored enemies. Only a small number of them held matchlock guns.

Since the collapse of the Tubo Empire, the military power of the Qaidam Plateau has experienced a cliff-like decline. The reason for this is poverty.

When the Qiangtang Plateau was rich in water and grass and suitable for growing rice, the Tubo Empire threatened the Silk Road in the north and plundered India in the south, and erected bronze pillars symbolizing the territory on the north bank of the Ganges.

In the words of later generations, the fertile lands of two major civilizations were serving Tubo. How could this be a small blessing!

Relying on such financial resources, successive kings raised at least 150,000 armored warriors on the plateau. These warriors did not need to farm, practiced martial arts for generations, and were well-equipped. Naturally, they were invincible and gave the Tang Dynasty a hard time.

However, due to climate change and incompetent policies, the Tibetans themselves turned the Silk Road in the north into a road of trouble. Coupled with the constant civil unrest on the plateau, they lost the ability to organize the southward raids on the Ganges, and their income was greatly reduced.

Under such circumstances, the Zamp and the major families could no longer afford to support a large number of full-time warriors and could only massively reduce the military forces in their hands.

But they may have forgotten that those who were laid off were not working cattle and horses, but armored warriors who wore armor, carried long swords, and could ride and shoot.

As a result, these warriors who had no place to live soon used the truth in their hands to teach the Zamp and the nobles a good lesson.

With their participation, during the period when Lun Kongre and the monks were fighting for their lives, a vigorous uprising of civilians and slaves broke out among the lower classes of Tubo, which immediately became uncontrollable.

This largest uprising of the common people in the history of Qiangtang completely buried the Tubo Dynasty and the Tubo warrior class.

Without the inherited battle experience of their ancestors, and also without the large amount of resources needed to practice martial arts, the Qiangtang warriors fell into complete silence after the short-lived rise of Zuosiluo.

For the next thousand years, they became the floor of East Asia and Northeast Asia's military power, and anyone who came could slap them in the face.

Therefore, Fu Kangan did not even look at these seemingly powerful Tibetan warriors, who were as weak as iron cans, and turned to the soldiers behind him and said:
“Those who have seen their country destroyed and their families ruined throughout history have never been able to preserve their families and have a future like us. This is all due to the grace of the great emperor.

Resolving the Qiangtang issue and destroying the Gurkhas is the best way for us to repay the great emperor. Let's all fight with all our might and show the world the loyalty of our Black Flag Army."

Fu Kang'an said this because at that time the Bannermen, or people all over the world, were more superstitious. And because the Qing emperor needed to win over the Yellow Sect, the Bannermen were more respectful of the Yellow Sect's masters than the Han people.

Therefore, the first step Fu Kangan had to take was to use loyalty to the emperor and his own future to break the awe of the Black Flag officers and soldiers towards the great wise and perfect master, saints and sages.

"The commander-in-chief is right. Don't you think about how much bloodshed our ancestors committed?

Although the main culprits of the Aisin Gioro family and the upper three banners have been executed, it does not mean that the Han people will accept us again.

Why did His Majesty give us the credit for clearing the Qiangtang River and capturing and killing the Gurkhas? Why did He have to transfer us when there were so many elite troops from the four provinces of Anxi?

The deputy commander, also a veteran bannerman, Hai Lu, said, "The Emperor feels sorry for us and values us. He wants us to achieve great achievements in Qiangtang and silence the people of the world.

After this is done, our parents, wives, and children can live a normal and peaceful life. Those of us who have fiefs, official positions, and rewards can also enjoy them with peace of mind!"

"Your Majesty has good intentions, and I, Baoning, will never be able to repay you even if I die a thousand times!" Another deputy commander, Baoning, forced his face into tears, howling that he was willing to die for the Emperor Mo.

After the three of them performed like this, the soldiers below also started to howl, and the little awe they had in their hearts for the Yellow Sect master was immediately washed away by the surging blood.

"Go forward, take the armor and weapons of these Tibetans. Anyone who dares to disobey will be executed on the spot!" Fu Kang'an shouted and waved his hand. The cavalry under his command immediately rode their horses forward.

Those Tibetan armored warriors, who were as strong as iron cans, did not dare to fight back at all. They either stayed there waiting to be disarmed, or threw away their weapons and ran away, taking off their armor as they ran.

Then the Black Flag Army broke into the temple, and a team of more than 200 people blocked their way.

These people were wearing cotton armor from the Qing Dynasty, and some were even wearing Green Camp uniforms and warm hats that came from nowhere. They were obviously part of the Damu Eight Banners soldiers stationed in the Nagqu area.

These soldiers were originally under the command of the minister stationed in Tibet. They were Mongols from the Khoshut Khanate. After staying in Qiangtang for a long time, they inevitably began to worship the masters and regarded these masters as the real masters of Qiangtang.

"You little bastards! We men don't even wear this shit anymore, and you're still embarrassing yourself here!"

"I was wondering, it's been over 20 years, why are the people still calling for the death of the Bannermen? It turns out it's you bastards who are constantly reminding the Han people!"

Seeing that the Damu Eight Banners on the opposite side were wearing the uniforms and armor of the Eight Banners and Green Camp soldiers, the soldiers of the Black Banner Army did not feel the slightest bit of closeness, nor did they feel any sadness about the loss of their homeland. Instead, they reacted collectively.

Because they will soon get rid of the label of bannermen and become Han people, so that they can live a stable life and enjoy the benefits of Dayu's territorial expansion.

And these Damu Eight Banners are still wearing old clothes. Isn’t this reminding people all the time that the Banner people still exist?
Hundreds of Black Flag Army soldiers looked at each other, and the same thought emerged in their eyes: don't be soft-hearted, don't let the Emperor in the capital think that they are still nostalgic for the Qing Dynasty.

"These Khoshut slaves have forgotten their duties and betrayed the Minister in Tibet. They have become the Master's lackeys. Kill them all!"

I don't know who shouted this in the crowd, and even the excuse was ready, so soon someone started shouting, "Kill them, kill them!" The shouts echoed one after another.

The Damu Eight Banners Guards, who had just come out to stop the situation out of habit, became nervous when they saw the situation. Many of them drew their swords involuntarily, and some were preparing to load their muskets.

"Kill!" This scene immediately stimulated the Black Flag Army who were ready to take action. They fired a volley of gunfire and then raised their bayonets and started charging.

The Damu Eight Banners did not expect that the Black Banner Army would open fire so decisively. Caught off guard, they suffered heavy casualties, with twenty or thirty people killed directly.

Amidst shrill cries, they tried to resist, but the gap between the two sides was too big.

The Eight Banners of Damu were quickly unilaterally massacred by the Black Banner Army, which had experienced many wars and could fight back and forth with the elite troops of the Russian Empire. More than 200 people were killed in just over ten minutes.

Unexpectedly, the ones who protected the master in the end were not the Tibetans whom they had controlled for thousands of years, but the Eight Banners of Damu who were supposed to monitor them under the supervision of the Minister Resident in Tibet.

Blood was flowing in the temple where the abbot lived, and the fishy smell irritated everyone's nerves.

The Black Flag Army, armed with bayonets, fell into their usual fighting atmosphere and showed no mercy, while the monks and Kashag officials under the guidance of the Great Perfection Wisdom Master were frightened out of their wits.

These people should not have allowed the Damu Eight Banners to come out to resist. If these people had not appeared, the Black Flag Army would not have been so cruel. However, once the Damu Eight Banners came out, they were forced to take a stand.

"Sir, the master is the incarnation of the Buddha of the Western Paradise and the sun in the Qiangtang sky. Emperors of all dynasties have been required to show respect to him. Please show some respect."

A monk risked his life to rush over from the backyard of the temple, stepping over the blood and broken limbs, and groaning in pain, trying to use the master's divinity to scare away the Black Flag Army soldiers.

Deputy Commander Hai Lu's son, Hai Changqing, stepped forward holding a long knife dripping with blood. He snorted coldly, "Whether the master is the incarnation of the Buddha of the Western Paradise, this needs to be confirmed by the Incarnation Buddha.

If the Buddha says he is, then he is; if he says he is not, then he is not!

As he spoke, Hai Changqing turned the knife handle upside down, with the blade facing downwards, and held the knife handle with both hands backwards, and bowed to the air to the upper right.

"As for me, Hai Changqing, there is only one sun in the hearts of my Black Flag Army officers and soldiers, and that is the current His Majesty, the Great Emperor Yu Guangzhong!" "How dare you, a demon monk, talk nonsense in front of us!" After Hai Changqing finished speaking, the captain of the left wing of the Black Flag Army, Heshen's younger brother Helin, rode forward and stabbed the monk to death with a spear!

In the backyard, the Great Perfection Wisdom Master could no longer hold back when he heard the screams of the personal monk in the center. He could no longer maintain his so-called great wisdom, calmness and composure of a Buddha.

"The emperor won't kill me, the emperor won't kill me." The Great Perfection Wisdom Master repeated in a low voice, constantly encouraging himself.

Beside him, the eight-year-old Sage was trembling. From the moment he was chosen as the Spirit Pearl, the eight-year-old child had been caught in the vortex of politics.

At this time, Qiangtang was composed of about four hundred aristocratic rulers, including the Miao descendants of the Tibetan Empire's Zamp, large families passed down from ancient tribes, and relatives of the two masters of successive generations.

The real power of governing Qiangtang was in the hands of about twenty great nobles.

Of course, this is not static, but is constantly decreasing. The great nobles will become small nobles in the political struggle, and the small nobles may be deprived of everything and become serfs.

The reason why the number of people continued to decrease was that almost no one could reverse course from serfs to nobles. The only exception was the families of two masters in history.

The moment they were chosen as the reincarnated spirit beads, their families automatically became nobles.

Amid the screams, the Eighth Great Perfection Wisdom Master, Qiangbai Gyatso, pulled the trembling Fourth Great Sage Master, Lobsang Tulku Patan Wangshukla over and held him tightly in his arms.

Qiangbai Gyatso was born into a small noble family in Namulinzong. After being chosen as the reincarnation of Lingzhuzi, he wanted to make a big splash and also wanted his family to be among the twenty-one great noble families that controlled Qiangtang.

To this end, through his continuous efforts, he successfully persuaded the Khans of the Khalkha Mongolian tribes to agree to designate his brother Sonomdash's eldest son as the reincarnation of Lingzhuzi.

Since two spiritual children were born in the same family, it was natural that Qiangbai Jiacuo's family immediately became one of the largest aristocratic families in Qiangtang.

However, he didn't expect the accident to come so soon.

"I have not betrayed my country, I have not disobeyed the Great Emperor, and I have not harmed the people. The Great Emperor is wise and enlightened, and he would not allow anyone to harm me. This must be the Black Flag Army's own decision."

Qiangbai Jiacuo forced himself to suppress his panic and regained the composure of a great master of wisdom. He said to the monks and Kashag officials in the room:
"The Black Flag Army has come in response to imperial orders. They are truly angels. Go out and greet them first. Tell them that I will be meeting them in the backyard."

What he said is indeed true. Apart from being a little utilitarian, this Eighth Great Perfection Wisdom Master has no bad deeds and has indeed not betrayed his country in any way.

The monks and government officials thought about it and agreed that this was indeed the case. The only thing that could bring them trouble was that they disagreed with the proposal put forward by Zheng Xin, the Compassionate Buddha, that the Vairocana Buddha should go into seclusion and the Pure Land should be represented by the Incarnation of the Vidyaraja Buddha.

At that moment, these monks and government officials had no choice but to file out, and finally knelt down densely in the front hall of the backyard filled with corpses.

In the backyard hall, only the Great Perfection Wisdom Master and the Holy Sage Master, an uncle and nephew, were left. The Master slowly let go of the Holy Sage Master and after pacing back and forth several times, he couldn't help but sigh.

"Nephew, you and I may have to go to the capital to spend our old age. I regret it so much, I regret it so much!"

Qiangbai Jiacuo's heart was bleeding with regret. If he had known earlier, he would have agreed with Zheng Xin. This would have cut off the reason for Zheng Xin to enter Inner Tibet. Although his interests would be damaged, it would be much better than being forcibly relocated to the capital as it is now.

The eight-year-old Sage blinked his eyes, thought for a moment, and said, "It would be nice to go to the capital. It's the richest place in the world, and the Emperor won't treat us unfairly."

The Great Perfection Wisdom Master also thought about this problem. After thinking about it, he felt that he was still valuable.

Because of the Gurkha invasion, sixteen of the twenty-two great noble families chose to cooperate with the Gurkhas to varying degrees.

However, his family did not cooperate, which was a moral standpoint. Even if Zheng Xin entered Inner Tibet in the future, he would still need his family's cooperation.

In addition, the emperor may not be completely confident in his father-in-law, and he must keep him to balance the future Cihang Pudu Zun Buddha who controls both Qiangtang and Qinghai.

Finally, of course, the Great Perfection Wisdom Master is the most honorable existence in Qiangtang for thousands of years. His status in the hearts of the Tibetans cannot be changed by any political decree.

In front of the hall in the backyard, monks and government officials kneeling on the ground still invisibly blocked the way to the backyard. They were using their last bit of courage to express their opinions.

These people also know that if the dignity of the Great Perfection Wisdom Master is violated at this time, they will be endangering their own safety.

"General, do you have an imperial edict from His Majesty?" The Kalon Tripa of the Kashag, who was roughly equivalent to the Prime Minister of the government, shouted loudly to Fu Kang'an. He didn't believe that Fu Kang'an, who came so quickly, had an imperial edict.

Of course there was no imperial edict. Even if there was, Mo Zibu could only give an oral order and would not directly issue an imperial edict to give people a chance to talk.

Because the Eighth Dzogchen Wisdom Master was just unwilling to acknowledge Zheng Xin’s changes to the scriptures, not that he had committed treason, this was actually not a crime, at least it certainly did not violate the law.

"We are here on orders to ask the Master to go to Xining to discuss the important matter of retaking Resa and punishing the Gurkhas." Fu Kangan already had a plan for dealing with this. He said slowly:

"Who would have thought that after arriving at the Master's temporary residence, some criminals would instigate the guards to attack our army, forcing the loyal and brave Black Flag Army to fight back."

Well, now that everyone is dead, naturally there is no evidence to prove what Fu Kangan said. Of course, Kalon Tripa didn't bother to argue with Fu Kangan at this time. He immediately shouted:
"If there are one or two people with evil intentions, they have been eliminated by the general. Now, please order the warriors to leave. We need to clean up this place. It is not good to see rivers of blood in the land of Buddhism."

At this time, the golden urn system had not yet been proposed, and the minister stationed in Tibet had not yet obtained the same authority as the two masters, so the master was still qualified to hold it in his hands.

Fu Kangan smiled after hearing this. They want to drive us away, so let's do as they wish.

"My men, listen up! All of you retreat outside the temple."

When the monks and government officials heard this, they were overjoyed. They had not expected that Commander Fudu would be so easy to deal with, so they withdrew their troops immediately.

Kalon Tripa even felt a little regretful. It was obvious that the Fudu Commander had no imperial edict at all. He should have been bolder just now.

But soon he was stunned, because the soldiers of the Black Flag Army left, but all the officers above the rank of captain stayed.

There were about a hundred of them. Just looking at their fierce faces, the weapons dripping with blood in their hands, and the "truth" on their waists...

Kalon Tripa had no doubt that these people could easily get rid of them.

"At the request of the Venerable Buddha, Cihang Pudu, this general has come to invite the Great Perfection Wisdom Master and the Holy Sage to Xining to discuss state affairs. Would you please inform the Kalon Tripa now?"

"Also, the officers under this general's command have heard that the Great Perfection Wisdom Master's Dharma is profound and has great aspirations. They also hope to listen to your teachings. Please report this to the Master and make it convenient for you."

Kalon Tripa showed a bitter smile on his face. He knew in his heart that he could not stop it this time.

Once the Great Perfection Wisdom Master and the Holy Sages arrive in Xining, the only option left is to go to the capital when the imperial edict arrives.

"Get out of the way, do you want to rebel?" Hai Changqing stood up and shouted at the right time, and his hand grasped the hilt of the sword that had just been sheathed.

The monks and government officials looked pale and after hesitating for a few seconds, they finally made way.

Fu Kangan also breathed a sigh of relief. After all, these people at least did not betray the country and had high status in Qiangtang. He had just killed one of them, and it would be inappropriate to kill another. Now that they were willing to give way, it was the best.
