The Jade Emperor asked, "Why did the Bodhisattva come here suddenly?"

Guanyin Bodhisattva looked at the immortals present, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "I am here by the Buddha's command to inform His Majesty the Jade Emperor that the Sandalwood Merit Buddha has passed away."

Upon hearing this, the immortals who were originally expecting something were shocked again.

Since the Emperor of Heaven's western tour, it has been known to all parties that Emperor Yin and Master Sanzang jointly govern the underworld, and that the order of the underworld is supervised by the great witch Yi.

It can be said that a Buddha with great merit like Tripitaka, although not as powerful and authoritative as the original Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, is definitely ranked at the top in Buddhism.

Guanyin Bodhisattva raised one hand and said, "Because the incident happened suddenly and the remains of the Sandalwood Merit Buddha are completely gone, we haven't had time to investigate yet."

As soon as he finished speaking, Sun Wukong sneered, "I know the reason."

The immortals were suddenly surprised and suspicious.

Guanyin Bodhisattva was not surprised because the Buddha had told her so before she came.

Master Tripitaka passed away in Lingyuan, and Fighting Buddha wanted to destroy Lingyuan. The ancient Buddha Dipankara went to stop him but failed, and Lingyuan was eventually destroyed.

This shows that Sun Wukong was present at the time and must have known the reason for Sanzang's death.

The Queen Mother and the Immortal of the South Pole looked at each other, and a bad feeling arose in their hearts again.

Because what a coincidence!
Something went wrong with Lingyuan, a underworld abyss that was used to replenish the spiritual essence of Pantao Garden, and Master Sanzang, who was in charge of part of the power of the underworld, also died.

It's hard not to wonder if the two things are related.

Thinking about the destruction of Pantao Garden, the two of them felt more and more uneasy.

But before they could do anything, the Jade Emperor said in a deep voice, "Sun Wukong, since you knew that Master Sanzang had passed away, why didn't you report it in time?"

Sun Wukong bowed and said, "I had originally planned to report to Your Majesty after recovering Master's remains, but unexpectedly the destruction of the Peach Garden occurred, which delayed me."

Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva quickly asked, "Does Lingming Tianzun know where the remains of the Sandalwood Merit Buddha are?"

Sun Wukong wiped his face, making the sorrow less evident, and pointed towards the vast and misty Yaochi Lake: "If I'm not mistaken, Master is in this Yaochi Lake right now!"

When these words were spoken, all the immortals were horrified.

The Queen Mother was even more furious and said, "Sun Wukong, stop talking nonsense! Master Tripitaka is in the underworld, and my Yao Chi is the fairy pool in heaven. How could his body be here?" The immortals also had this doubt, and they all looked at the Monkey King, wanting to know the reason.

At this moment, Sun Wukong's eyes became fierce, and he sneered, "Why are you here? Then let me explain it to you clearly!

Old Sun has long noticed that the peaches that ripen once every nine thousand years have been growing faster recently, but he's never figured out why.

Hearing this, Queen Mother Wang felt even more uneasy, and the Immortal of the South Pole frowned even more.

Sun Wukong continued, “And not long ago, the Purple Star Emperor suddenly came to tell me.

It is said that when my master was sorting out the past files of the underworld recently, he discovered that there was a problem with the reincarnation in the underworld over the past thousand years, and the average lifespan of the human race had been shortened by nearly three years.

But before we could find out the truth, he disappeared.”

Upon hearing this, the immortals were shocked again.

If the average life expectancy is reduced by three years, how much less will the human race be in a thousand years?
The many human deifiers present were filled with anger and sorrow.

Nanji Xianweng sarcastically said, "Humanity has always been greedy and lustful, often fighting and killing each other. With so many deaths, the average lifespan has naturally decreased."

The Purple Star Emperor said sternly, "Your words are wrong, Immortal. Just take the human race in the Southern Continent as an example. During the Zhou Dynasty and the Shang Dynasty, the two sides experienced many years of war, and countless human casualties occurred.

But less than a hundred years later, the human race in the Great Zhou Dynasty experienced a major explosion.

The same was true of the later Qin, Han, Three Kingdoms, Jin, Sui and Tang dynasties.

Although there were wars when dynasties changed, and even during the Jin Dynasty, the number of human beings in the Southern Continent decreased sharply.

But during the Sui and Tang dynasties, the human race ushered in a prosperous era again.

Sun Wukong said in a deep voice: "Your Majesty, I am not making random accusations. When I learned that my master was missing, I went to the underworld with the Purple Star Emperor.

After some exploration, we finally discovered that there was a thousand-foot-deep abyss at the end of the reincarnation path, which contained countless spiritual essences that gathered into springs.

It was discovered that those spiritual essences were harvested from humans who had just reincarnated but had not yet been born."

Upon hearing this, all the immortals were shocked.

This now coincides with the fact that human lifespan is shortened!
At this moment, the expression of the Immortal of the South Pole calmed down, but the expression of the Queen Mother became more and more ugly.

Sun Wukong continued, "There is a gap at the bottom of the abyss, which allows the spiritual essence within to flow to an unknown place.

My master was sitting cross-legged on the gap at that time, trying to block it with his body.

But within the abyss, there was a man-eating formation that devoured spiritual essences. Master passed away there, and his body drifted along with the spiritual essences to an unknown place.
