Chapter 242 Angry Dragon Knight
Chapter 242 Angry Dragon Knight
The Eldar are a very long-lived race, and Dragon Knight Keen is considered to be a relatively young generation within the race.
Most of the time, dragon riders like him would choose to live alone in a quieter place to tame their dragons. They were lonely and independent, but would never completely separate themselves from the group.
Therefore, when he returned to the tribe, the tribesmen who were engaged in farming and nomadism gathered around him. They greeted him warmly and friendly, and the dragon knight forced a smile.
His people had lived in comfort for too long. Ever since they escaped from the Eldar Empire, generation after generation of them had lived in a peaceful environment. They had lost their former vigilance and even believed that their current peaceful life did not require any changes at all.
Young Keane hated this stubbornness, but he could not change the entire group with his own strength.
Few people are interested in past grudges in the starry sea, but Keen is different. He once visited the Atolek Ark World, which was friendly with them, and stayed there for a while.
During the time he spent with his cousins on the Ark Eldar, he witnessed too many threats he had never known before: his ancient mortal enemy the Necrons were gradually awakening, and the Orks, also creations of the Old Ones, had already completely lost control. When the energy of the Waaagh rose to a certain limit, a terrifying green tide would sweep across the entire galaxy.
The entire galaxy has undergone tremendous changes. The young human empire has followed in the footsteps of the former Eldar empire. Their glory even lasted only a few hundred years. A large-scale human civil war is burning the entire galaxy.
Keen didn't care about the fate of humans, whether it was the Savage Eldar, the Ark Eldar, or the Dark Eldar who continued the extravagant and decadent life of the past Eldar in Commorros. They generally despised humans as inferior apes.
However, the fire ignited by humans has gotten out of control, and chaos is strengthening its impact on the real universe. They, who were originally spectators on the sidelines, have to prepare for this disaster.
Out of vigilance, Keane was eager to destroy those damn humans. These stupid primates were not worthy of setting foot on their noble planet.
The barbaric elves who returned to primitive society have abandoned many of the complicated rituals inherited from the Eldar Empire. Keane went straight to the tree house of the tribal chief. He pushed open the wooden door woven from vines and leaves with a heavy face.
"Kean, you're back." An old Eldar man who looked particularly old and had many wrinkles on his face. There was not much surprise in his cloudy eyes, as if he had known that the dragon knight would return.
"Yes, Chief, I must come back. I brought a warning of war. Humans are invading our homeland. We can no longer sit idly by and wait for death."
"I saw with my own eyes how they destroyed the forest with steel and concrete, stupid and crude mechanical creations spewing smoke and felling more huge trees to expand their territory."
Keane spoke in the Eldar language, a special language that had to be pronounced simultaneously from the mouth and chest, passing through their specially constructed trachea before being emitted from the body, and even had to be accompanied by facial expressions and body language.
The patriarch just looked at him indifferently and turned a deaf ear to his warning.
"If this is what you want to tell us, then go back. The sacred tree [Eva] passed the message to us as soon as those humans arrived. Everything is under control."
"Child, you are still too young. Eva is the soul of the entire Pandora world. The vegetation, creatures, and even the mountains and rocks are all part of it. It knows everything on this planet, and nothing can be hidden from us."
A trace of astonishment flashed across Keane's face. He didn't understand, since the patriarch knew everything, why these tribesmen continued to live their idyllic life here as if nothing had happened.
Aren’t they worried that humans will completely take over their homes after accumulating strength?
As if seeing the dissatisfaction and resentment in Keane's heart, the patriarch spoke slowly.
"Don't worry. We already know that you drove the hammer-headed giant thunder beast, the death beast, and the six-winged flying dragon to attack those humans, and you failed. We must make long-term plans."
"Pandora is not a place where those upright apes can run wild. If we want, we can easily destroy them."
The patriarch spoke in a nagging tone, and Keen's face turned even worse. Even though he also looked down on those humans, he was more clear-headed. He knew the horror of those modified warriors wearing power armor and wielding power swords. They were the product of evil genetic engineering and proof of humanity's involvement with the power of the warp.
His cousin from the Ark Eldar once told him how these extremely stubborn and extremely ignorant humans destroyed civilizations and races in the galaxy one after another for their Emperor.
Even the proud dragon knights were not 100% sure of defeating the human warriors called Astartes.
With the help of those animals and plants, Keane found out some information about humans. There were about two thousand humans who landed on the surface of the planet, and the number of Astartes exceeded one thousand.
What confidence does the patriarch rely on to dare to look down on those aggressive invaders?
The patriarch saw all of Keane's performance. He lamented in his heart the impatience of young people. They were just human beings. What was there to be afraid of?
They, the Eldar, are the eldest sons of the Old Ones, and are the proudest and most powerful race in the entire galaxy. Humans, on the other hand, are merely thieves who took advantage of the Eldar's own corruption to occupy their place.
If there had not been the great extinction of the Eldar, the rise of humanity would not have happened by chance.
If a large number of human troops appeared, he would become nervous and mobilize all his tribesmen to encircle and suppress the enemies.
But now, Eva told him that the number of humans was only two thousand, and although half of them were those disgusting genetically modified warriors, he was confident that he could defeat them.
They don't even need to take action themselves. The Pandora ecosystem controlled by Eva will devour those ignorant humans.
"Please be patient. I will communicate with Eva and ask her to use her power to catalyze those animals and plants. Since you are worried, you can organize the dragon riders in the tribe and have them ready to go."
The patriarch's perfunctory attitude was already extremely obvious. He lowered his head and ignored Keane who was full of worry.
Although he did not use his authority as the patriarch to make the dragon knight shut up, his actions undoubtedly proved this point.
"You will regret it."
The dragon knight had no desire to linger. He turned around and left, then broke open the door.
He must gather the dragon riders in the tribe, not only the flying dragon riders, but also those who ride land dragons. Fighting against humans requires them to put aside traditional concepts and work together.
Keane piloted his six-winged dragon towards the territories of other dragon knights in his memory. Because of their sparse population, every dragon knight had his own territory.
As he traveled through the sea of clouds and suspended mountains, he couldn't help but look up at the beautiful blue night sky. The Pandora's moons reflected the light of the stars, which made him intoxicated again and again.
"This is my hometown. I must protect Pandora. No one can take it away from me."
But Keane also knew that in that beautiful starry sky, human interstellar battleships were anchored somewhere he could not see.
With the power of the Savage Eldar, they had no way to deal with the enemies in orbit. Even the most powerful six-winged dragon could not break free of the constraints of gravity and fly completely into the cold void of the universe.
"I have to seek help from the Ark Eldar. They left after helping us destroy that crude spaceship. I didn't expect these damn humans to chase us again like hounds smelling blood."
Although humans have not shown any intention of using orbital bombardment to seize control, Keane dare not bet on this possibility. He must find a way to restrict humanity's space fleet.
