Chapter 42 Dead End Void vs. Dead End Butcher

Chapter 42 Dead End Void - Battle Against the Dead End Butcher

"clang!"

The two ethereal spears clashed violently, the crisp sound of metal striking metal vibrating the air itself. Amidst the flying sparks, the immense recoil sent both men flying. Ming Che plummeted downwards, his left hand instantly transforming into a dragon claw covered in dark blue scales, its five fingers like steel hooks plunging into the ground, sending shards of rock flying.

A deep gash, half a meter long, was plowed out, barely managing to steady his retreating figure. He held the gun horizontally to his side in his right hand, the tip pointing diagonally at the ground, the black dragon spear humming incessantly, ready to receive the next attack at any moment.

On the other side, the Dead End Butcher was also shaken and staggered repeatedly. It staggered a full three zhang farther than Ming Che, its heavy ethereal armor dragging two deep claw marks on the ground, crisscrossing with the marks left by the spear, making it look extremely disheveled. This high-risk ethereal beast raised its head and let out a deafening roar, its scarlet compound eyes fixed on the unharmed Ming Che, its violent ethereal fluctuations almost solidifying.

Mingche slowly straightened up, glancing down at the tip of his left claw—it was now a scorching red from the intense friction with the ground. Beneath the cold mask, a pair of amber dragon eyes hardened with seriousness. The brief exchange had given him a preliminary understanding of the behemoth's strength.

Just then, the calm electronic voice of Dragon Soul came through the headset: "Warning! The host is currently facing a high-crisis enemy, Yi Hai - Dead End Butcher. Analysis of the Security Bureau's network database shows that Yi Hai is generally extremely aggressive. Of the five basic attributes of strength, speed, defense, endurance, and perception, the other four are at a medium level. It is recommended that the host avoid direct confrontation and adopt guerrilla tactics of attrition."

Mingche's fingers tightened slightly, the cool touch of the gun barrel calming him down a little. His mind raced: should he expend a canister of high-concentration etheric energy for a swift and decisive victory? But that would mean not only failing to earn a penny from the mission but also incurring the cost of expensive energy potions. Or should he proceed cautiously, slowly wearing down the alien beast through a protracted war? Both options had their pros and cons, leaving him momentarily conflicted.

"Your Majesty the Dragon Emperor."

A gentle voice broke the silence from afar. Ming Che looked in the direction of the voice and saw Lykan standing tall in the shadows of the street corner, dressed in a well-tailored black suit, with a faint aura of coldness surrounding him.

The cat held two gleaming short blades, its two bushy tails swaying warily behind it, its golden eyes fixed on the Butcher of the Dead Road. Lina, dressed in an immaculate white maid outfit, floated lightly in mid-air, a soft electromagnetic aura swirling around her palms, two babe puppets obediently hanging on her shoulders, their round eyes constantly darting around.

The group tacitly spread out, standing around the Dead End Butcher, forming an impenetrable circular encirclement with Ming Che. The trapped Dead End Butcher grew increasingly agitated, wildly whipping its long, bony-spiky tail and letting out roars like a caged beast, sending dust swirling from the surrounding abandoned buildings.

Behind an abandoned building not far away, Colleen cautiously peeked out, her large eyes fixed on the center of the battlefield, barely daring to breathe. Elaine rested on her shoulder, fast asleep, her lips occasionally smacking. A faintly glowing black dragon scale lay quietly on the tip of her tongue, rising and falling gently with her breath.

"Roar--!"

The Butcher of the Dead Road roared suddenly, like a battle horn. Ming Che's eyes narrowed, and he moved first. His figure transformed into a blur, instantly appearing in front of the Butcher of the Dead Road. The tip of the Dragon Abyss Black Gold Spear blazed with raging flames, the flames resembling a roaring fire dragon, carrying intense ethereal energy, and piercing straight for the Butcher of the Dead Road's face.

"clang!"

Dead End Butcher reacted with lightning speed, immediately raising his heavy ethereal spear to parry. A piercing metallic scraping sound tore through the air, and sparks rained down between the two spears. Cat seized this fleeting opportunity, his figure darting out like a red lightning bolt, wildly slashing at the gaps in Dead End Butcher's armor.

Unfortunately, although her short blade was sharp, it could never penetrate the Dead Road Butcher's tough ether armor. Each attack could only leave a shallow scratch on it. Rather than an attack, it was more like giving the skeleton a free scraping massage.

Lycan stomped his specially made combat boots lightly, and a thin layer of frost instantly formed on the ground. He flashed to the side of Dead Road Butcher's legs and launched a fierce attack on the joints. With each kick, a biting chill seeped into the gaps in the armor, condensing into a layer of white frost on Dead Road Butcher's legs.

The attack intensified, and in no time, the Dead End Butcher's legs were frozen solid by thick ice, slowing its movements. It roared in pain, its head, which had been firmly held back by Ming Che, suddenly snapping to the side. Its long tail, whistling through the air, shot straight at the Cat Demon's face like a steel whip!
"Meow!"

The cat screamed in terror, instinctively closing her eyes and shielding herself with her arms. But the expected excruciating pain didn't come. She opened one eye in confusion, then stared wide-eyed in shock at the other—she was being lifted by an invisible electromagnetic force, floating in a safe zone five meters away from the butcher of the dead end.

"Miss Nekomata, don't push yourself too hard." Lina's gentle voice rang in her ears, and the electromagnetic aura in her palm slowly dissipated. She looked up and met the gaze of Eileen, who had been awakened by the sounds of fighting. The latter rubbed her sleepy eyes, carrying the huge shark scissors, looking bewildered as if she hadn't woken up yet.

"Ellen, how are you feeling?" Lina asked softly.

Upon hearing this, Ellen raised her hand, removed the dragon scale from the tip of her tongue, and yawned widely, saying lazily, "Yawn—aside from a slightly fishy taste in my mouth, nothing strange." Lina smiled faintly, but a subtle hint of seriousness flashed in her eyes. She turned to look at the fierce battle raging on the battlefield, her gaze settling on Ming Che, her curiosity about this mysterious Dragon Emperor's background growing ever stronger.

On the battlefield, Ming Che's attacks were powerful and domineering. Each strike of the Dragon Abyss Black Gold Spear left a charred mark on the Dead Road Butcher's body. The flames seemed to possess a life of their own, clinging tightly to the armor and relentlessly scorching the Dead Road Butcher's ethereal core, causing it to howl in agony. Yet, no matter how ferocious the Dead Road Butcher's attacks were, Ming Che precisely blocked them, even seizing openings to retaliate.

The Dead End Butcher was utterly enraged. It suddenly raised its ethereal spear high, the shaft wreathed in violent ethereal energy, and slashed down fiercely at Ming Che's position! This strike was powerful and heavy, carrying a world-destroying force.

Ming Che did not take the blow head-on. He dodged the fatal attack with a flash, like a ghost. With a loud "Bang! Rumble—", the spear slammed into the ground, instantly creating a crater several meters in diameter. Debris and dust shot into the sky, instantly obscuring everyone's vision.

Mingche's figure appeared five meters in front of Dead Road Butcher. His amber dragon eyes, hidden beneath his mask, glowed slightly as he activated his eye technique, revealing the scene within the smoke and dust. After forcing him back, Dead Road Butcher suddenly drew his spear and swept it horizontally towards Lycaon beside him!

The attack came suddenly, catching Lycahn off guard. He could only hastily raise his metal boots to block. "Clang!" The violent impact came from the boots. He groaned and his body flew backward from the dust like a kite with a broken string, crashing heavily into the wall.

"Lord Lykan!"

Lina and Colleen gasped simultaneously. Upon seeing this, Ellen's sleepiness vanished instantly. Carrying the shark shears, she darted towards the direction Lycan had been sent flying and caught him steadily.

"Boss, are you alright?" Eileen's tone was unusually concerned.

Lykahn shook his head, raised his hand to wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth, and said in a steady voice, "I'm fine." He stood up with Elaine's help, dusted himself off, and turned his gaze back to the battlefield, a cold glint in his eyes.

Mingche glanced at Lycaon's location out of the corner of his eye and breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing that he was unharmed. His gaze returned to the Dead Road Butcher in the smoke and dust. In his dragon eyes, he could clearly see that the etheric activity within the skeleton was surging wildly, and the surrounding free etheric matter was surging into its body like a tide. The wounds scalded by the flames were healing at a speed visible to the naked eye!

Mingche frowned more and more as he looked at the charred marks covering the Dead Road Butcher's body. Although the skeleton before him was covered in wounds, the ever-increasing etheric activity within it made Mingche feel a strong sense of unease.

at the same time.

In a small, unassuming video store on Sixth Street.

Zhe was sitting on the sofa, his gaze calmly fixed on the television screen. The screen was showing news from outside the police station, with photos of citizens killed in the attack flashing by. His face remained expressionless, even showing a faint smile. He picked up a glass from the table, got up, and walked to the water dispenser in the corner to get a drink.

Just as he filled his water bottle and took a sip, Ling's voice suddenly came from the new HAND device beside him, with a hint of slyness: "Brother, go to the parking lot and pick up our new friend."

Upon hearing this, Zhe abruptly stopped. He turned to look at Ling, only to find that the girl had somehow broken off her connection with Ies and was now gripping the back of the chair with both hands, her chin resting on the back of her hands, looking at him with a mischievous grin.

"Gulu——"

Zhe subconsciously swallowed, a sense of foreboding instantly washing over him, his heart skipping a beat. Countless unbearable memories flashed through his mind—whenever Ling showed that smile, he always suffered both physical and mental torment. For example, once, he casually mentioned that he was a little constipated, and the next day, Ling brought him a fragrant cake. He happily ate it, only to end up in the toilet so exhausted that he almost couldn't crawl out.

Looking into Ling's eyes, which were gleaming with cunning, Zhe felt a chill run down his spine, and even the water glass in his hand felt scalding hot.
