Chapter 700 Factional Strife, Judicial Escalation

Chapter 700 Factional Strife, Judicial Escalation

On November 15, the Bush camp rejected two recommendations made by Albert Gore, and the matter went to the Florida Supreme Court.
On November 16, the Florida Supreme Court ruled that Palm Beach County could continue to count votes manually.

However, there was one unexpected point: the court did not address a crucial issue—whether the results of the manual vote count would be recognized and included in the final vote count.

On November 17, the Florida Supreme Court ruled that Florida Secretary of State Harris could not announce the state's final vote count in the U.S. presidential election on November 18!
It seems the Democratic Party has finally turned the tide?
"Honey, is 'Moulin Rouge' finished filming?"

At Villa Belair, Aaron was on top of Nicole Kidman, who had spent a long time in Australia this year filming the musical "Moulin Rouge!"
“It’s over. I injured my knee in the middle and had to rest for a while,” Nicole Kidman said, her face flushed as she hugged the man on top of her, her voice panting.

“Hmm, I see,” Aaron then kissed the woman and smiled. “Your look in ‘Moulin Rouge’ was truly stunning.”

"After all these years, your beauty seems to have not faded at all?"

"Really?" Nicole Kidman hugged Aaron's neck tightly. "Next year, try harder, I want a baby too!"

Aaron rubbed the woman against his body. "Your performance in 'Erin Brockovich' was amazing. The movie did well both critically and commercially."

"Your chances of winning the next Oscar for Best Actress are very high. Are you sure it's that soon?"

"Erin Brockovich" is a favorite subject of Academy judges, and it grossed $1.2 million in North America and $2.5 million worldwide!

Nicole Kidman thought for a moment, then ran her hand over the man's back. "It doesn't matter. Anyway, if I get pregnant, I'll just stop and rest!"

However, Nicole Kidman has a deep obsession with winning the Oscar for Best Actress, and her film "Erin Brockovich," released this year, has been a huge success.
Of course she wants to fight for it, so she has recently started attending press conferences to promote the movie "Erin Brockovich" and to try to get a nomination and an award for herself.

“Okay,” Aaron said, rolling over and pulling Nicole Kidman into his arms. “Go to sleep…”

With the release of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," audience reviews of the film are mixed, but the $5500 million box office gross in its opening weekend is undeniable!

Many people have praised Jim Carrey's outstanding performance in the film. A commentator from the Los Angeles Times said that Jim Carrey's portrayal of the Grinch in "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" was not just about special effects makeup; Jim Carrey used ingenious facial expressions to blend himself into the character.

The Hollywood Reporter praised director Ron Howard, stating, "Ron Howard has undoubtedly imprinted the quirky, nameless town in 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' deeply in the minds of audiences!" However, Roger Ebert, a senior film critic for the Chicago Sun-Times, pointed out that "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" focused on the wrong plot: "There should have been more scenes to build sympathy for the audience. I think many children will see this movie with confusion and disgust because it's not very entertaining!"

The New York Times: "Ron Howard's Doctor Seuss 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' has a frustratingly cheap feel to it, like a Christmas present that someone throws at you and that person clearly doesn't care."

On the afternoon of November 18, while Aaron was working in the Dawn headquarters office in Burbank, war broke out again in Florida.

Florida Secretary of State Harris did not follow the Florida Supreme Court's ruling and directly announced the results of the Florida presidential election's overseas vote count. George W. Bush received 1380 overseas votes, while Albert Gore received 750 overseas votes. Obviously, George W. Bush received 630 more votes than Albert Gore.
The Florida Supreme Court ruled yesterday that Secretary of State Harris could not announce the state's final vote count in the U.S. presidential election today, but he ignored the ruling.

Clearly, this announcement has escalated the legal battle between the Democrats and Republicans once again!

On November 19, the legal teams of Albert Gore and George W. Bush filed separate lawsuits with the Florida Supreme Court, each outlining their arguments on whether manual recounts should be suspended in Miami-Dade and two other counties.
At this point, the Albert Gore camp also refused to stop the manual vote counting, while the George W. Bush camp held the opposite view.

On November 20, the legal teams of both sides attended the Florida Supreme Court for a heated debate at a hearing on the Florida vote count!
On November 21, the Florida Supreme Court ruled that manual recounts in counties such as Miami-Dade could be included in Florida's total votes in the presidential election, but the results must be announced by 5 p.m. Eastern Time on November 26.
The Bush camp is not satisfied with this ruling!

As many know, the Republicans will likely appeal to the Supreme Court in order to overturn the Florida Supreme Court's ruling.

The US presidential election remains undecided, and the partisan struggle is intensifying, with ongoing lawsuits and escalating legal battles bringing a series of crises to American politics, finances, and public sentiment.
Democratic and Republican lawmakers were also drawn into the fray, engaging in a series of battles.

Meanwhile, members of both the Republican and Democratic parties have warned that if the disputes surrounding the presidential election are not resolved reasonably, they will become the primary problem facing the next Congress!

If the Florida Supreme Court and the Florida legislature cannot resolve the issue, it will inevitably be taken to the U.S. Supreme Court and both houses of Congress.
The intervention of the House and Senate in the presidential election will inevitably lead to serious opposition to whoever becomes the next president throughout his term.

Compared to the rest of the party, the Republican Party is now fighting a desperate battle, with the presidential election still undecided and the transition period between the old and new presidents getting shorter and shorter.

The new general coordinating team's transition work is bound to be difficult to resolve, and all preparations for taking office have become very tight. The Democrats are in a much better position, at least Clinton's team has more members remaining in office.

In the vast US government system, as many as 6000 positions will be filled if the White House changes hands. Currently, these 6000 positions are still vacant due to the lack of a president.
Originally, the winner was to select more than 300 people from his campaign team to become the transition team in Washington, D.C., to meet with outgoing officials and professionals, and to draft relevant documents, etc.
However, the transition team is still focused on the presidential election, and the transition office is not yet in place!
