Hollywood starts with an agent
Chapter 687 The Final Obstacle
Chapter 687 The Final Obstacle
Evening, at the Bitmore Millennium Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
Aaron looked at Hillary in front of him. "Isn't Mrs. Hillary running for Congress from New York? What brings you to Los Angeles?"
Hillary smiled. "Aaron, you're the king of Hollywood now, and you control CBS. Nothing can be accomplished here in Hollywood without your approval."
Aaron shook his head. "Madam, you still like to joke. I'm just a businessman; I can't compare to those American tycoons and political families!"
Hillary took a sip of coffee. "Aaron, we had a very pleasant working relationship before. Why did you switch your support to the Bush family?"
Aaron remained expressionless, tapping his fingers lightly on the table a few times. "The Bush family has considerable resources in Texas, holds the title of former president, and his two sons are the governors of Texas and Florida, respectively."
"Dawn has invested billions of dollars in Universal Studios Orlando in Florida, and the annual tax breaks represent a significant portion of its profits."
"How can we compete with Disneyland, that independent kingdom, without the support of the state government?"
Hillary frowned. "These are all negotiable!"
Aaron glanced at the other man, his tone suddenly turning cold, "Didn't I warn you before to keep an eye on Clinton? He can play around with women however he wants, even a different one a day."
"But don't let this ruin our plans. The Lewinsky sex scandal is known worldwide; she alone shattered the illusion of being the US president."
"Being a womanizer is fine, of course. Former presidents like Kennedy and Reagan were all womanizers with countless women, but none of them were ever recorded while doing business in the Oval Office?"
Clinton's achievements are undeniable; with the $28 trillion he received from the collapse of the Soviet Union, he practically plundered a large portion of the Soviet Union's wealth.
This allowed the US economy to soar ahead, creating a situation of zero inflation and the lowest unemployment rate. Unfortunately, it couldn't control its lower body.
Hillary gripped the tablecloth tightly, her heart filled with resentment. While her private life with Clinton was indeed very chaotic, Clinton's actions had certainly made her lose face!
"Little Rock, New York, Los Angeles—how many messy things involving women have they dealt with?"
Aaron facepalmed. "Why the hell do you have to hang out in the White House, especially with a woman of Jewish background?"
Aaron Anderson is now wealthy and powerful, and supports many members of Congress, governors and other government officials.
With his dominance in Hollywood and his renowned reputation on Wall Street and in Silicon Valley, Hillary Clinton really didn't dare to offend such a person.
Hillary Clinton persisted, asking, "Is there really no way to salvage this?"
"Make amends?" Aaron glanced at the other person. "Do the Democrats still want to win again?"
Aaron shook his head. Clinton was just a pawn that was pushed out. After stepping down, what use was a former president who had no family background or resources?
After Hillary left, Jack Wells came out from the side. "How did the talk go?" Aaron shook his head. "Have you ever heard the saying, 'When the person leaves, the tea gets cold'?"
Jack Wells shrugged. "It doesn't really matter anyway. We just give some money to the Clintons' foundation every year; it's no big deal."
"Furthermore, the Clintons have maintained close ties with Jeffrey Epstein, a Wall Street pimp, in recent years, and have become acquainted with many investors;"
"Hillary Clinton received support from these people when she ran for Senate from New York as First Lady!"
"Jeffrey Epstein? That Jewish financial investor at the victory banquet after Clinton's election victory, right?" Aaron chuckled. Sure enough, a leopard can't change its spots.
As he spoke, Aaron shook his head and laughed, "These rich people in America really know how to have fun. Compared to them, we're practically moral exemplars!"
Jack Wells laughed, "I thought I was pretty tolerant, but after seeing those disgusting scenes a few times, I felt like throwing up."
"Those guys act like elite role models in front of others, but behind closed doors they're just like those beasts in heat."
Aaron waved his hand. "What scene can compare to the backstage of Hollywood? The stars are the best at this kind of thing."
Jack Wells seemed to remember something and suddenly said, "Hey, right, isn't Richard Gere still in the intensive care unit? I haven't heard any news about him dying these past few days."
"Who knows? It's no use if he doesn't die," Aaron didn't care about such things, but this guy's life is really lucky!
"Are you going to Sydney to watch the Olympics?" Jack Wells asked with a smile. He was going to Australia with his girlfriend, Denise Richards, for a few days.
The Olympics will last until the end of the month, which is only a little over half a month. There's only one week left before it ends.
Aaron shook his head. "No interest. NBC has the exclusive broadcasting rights for the Summer Olympics, and I heard they made a lot of money from advertising."
"MLB has just signed a six-year, $25 billion contract with CBS, granting CBS exclusive broadcasting rights to Saturday baseball games, the All-Star Game, parts of the Division Series, and the League Championship Series and World Series."
"In addition, CBS currently holds contracts for broadcasting some NFL games, as well as major golf broadcasting contracts;"
"However, now that FOX has also entered the sports market in a big way, coupled with the increased competition from ABC, ESPN, TNT, and NBC, I have a lot to think about now."
However, the first season of the large-scale reality survival show "Survivor" broadcast by CBS this summer achieved remarkable results, setting a new record for summer program ratings in the United States.
It even beat CBS's other quiz show, "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," and set a 21-year viewership record for CBS in that time slot.
In the realm of variety shows, CBS, already holding two trump cards, is preparing for the large-scale talent show "American Idol";
As the first large-scale talent show dedicated to creating stars, the promotional scale of "American Idol Season 1" was quite large. The success of the two consecutive shows has made everyone even more excited!
Sugon achieved such remarkable results in less than two years after acquiring CBS, which directly led to an increase in its stock price, and Sugon's current market value has reached $750 billion.
It's worth noting that Disney's current market capitalization is only around $420 billion.
Now, the only obstacle standing in the way of the dawn is AOL-Time Warner, but Nasdaq's current situation is not good.
AOL's bubble was already very serious, and its market value was bound to shrink. Just wait and see!
