Tokyo: Who would still fall in love after being spoiled?

Chapter 95: Everything is for Amano-sama

Chapter 95 Everything is for Mr. Amano

Discerning what you truly want is a lifelong question that everyone must face.

Inoue had just solved one such problem in his life and was immediately faced with the next decision.

He and Amano walked into a restaurant that looked quite busy. After a preliminary screening, there were three options in front of him:

Eel rice, pork chop rice, beef noodles.

He was now starving, which made this decision even more difficult. It was as difficult as asking a deep Kamen Rider fan to choose whether to transform into Den-O, Shuangqi, 555, or Kuuga.

The only difference is that he can squander his money and try all the options - the three options together only cost 1,500 yen, so there is no need to doubt his ability in this area.

Transforming into a Kamen Rider is just an unrealistic fantasy that exists in the minds of its fans, and there is almost no possibility of it being realized.

The creatures in this world, let's call them gods for now, are so boring that they even consider the social rationality of giving cheating devices to people.

He had no doubt that even if a batch of Kamen Rider transformation devices were really created, they would only allow the owner to play a dress-up game anytime and anywhere.

"What are you thinking about?" While he was still hesitating, the fried fish set meal ordered by Amano was brought over by a waiter of the same age who looked like he was helping his parents work after the summer vacation.

"I was wondering if Den-O could still hold the number one spot if we held another Kamen Rider popularity vote this year." He came to his senses, ordered a regular-sized pork chop rice, and said casually.

"What's the result?" Amano, who can lead the children in the welfare home to play Miyazaki's music together, has a patience far beyond that of ordinary people.

"No doubt about it." He announced the answer confidently.

"Really?" Amano lowered his head and started eating dinner, losing his patience.

It seems that he praised it too early.

The regular portion of pork cutlet rice was served and Amano took a look.

"Has Inoue-san already had dinner?" she asked.

"I have other plans tonight, so I can't eat too much." According to the usual portion size when he eats lunch in the school cafeteria, only the extra-large portion can fill him up.

This restaurant only offers regular portions, which is the case with most restaurants in Tokyo and Tottori. Only a few restaurants offer small portions to cater to special needs, so he was just unlucky.

Amano nodded slightly to show his understanding and continued to eat in an orderly manner.

He quickly finished his small portion of pork chop rice, and while passing the time, he rested his chin on his hand and watched Amano eat.

Unlike him who eats normally and Takeda who eats wildly, the way Amano eats is very interesting to watch.

First, pick up a piece of rice with chopsticks and put it into your mouth without opening your mouth wide. Chew it carefully for a few times. During this time, pick up a matching amount of side dishes and put them into your mouth.

Chew slowly, swallow, and repeat the process until you pick up a piece of rice with chopsticks.

Occasionally, between swallowing food and picking up rice, he would eat a vegetable salad or drink a bowl of miso soup.

People who witness this scene often think that this person is very patient and well-educated; but in reality, it doesn't take long to finish a dinner.

As for why he picked up rice first instead of side dishes, since he started living on the island, he had only observed the eating habits of Takeda and Amano, and Takeda's eating habits were almost of no reference value, so he had no way of judging whether it was a personal preference or whether most people did the same.

After being stared at for a long time, Amano put down his chopsticks.

"So, what are your plans next?" she asked, choosing this moment specifically to find him something to do.

"What are your plans?" His first thought was about his evening's plans. He planned to go to the supermarket near his rental house and buy a hot pot set. Then, he planned to use his points to buy some fresh ingredients, preferably pre-prepared so he wouldn't have to bother making them himself.

Wait for Takeda to get off work and eat shabu-shabu together at home.

"There's nothing to do before 9:30. I'll probably read a book or organize my study notes." He estimated the time and said to Amano.

"What about the wind band? What's next?" Amano remained noncommittal. "They were just appointed trumpet section leader, and now they're not interested in the national competition anymore. So they're going to quit tomorrow?"

"How's the progress at Zaoshi High School?" He didn't answer for the time being and asked instead.

"The instructor at Hayashi High School is very cooperative, and the wind band is quite capable. Since they have some chance of entering the Kanto Competition, most of the members are very motivated," Amano said succinctly.

"What about the remaining small portion?"

"As for the remaining small part, our goal is to defeat Beiying in the competition in half a month and avenge our previous defeat." Amano thought for a moment and answered carefully according to his wording.

"In other words," he naturally understood Amano's implication and bluntly summarized, "this event isn't a formal preparation for the Kanto Tournament; it's simply an invited performance with special significance."

"Yeah." Amano nodded awkwardly. "'Participating in the re-arrangement of 'Amori Haru' as the premiere orchestra' is also quite meaningful for them."

"It's quite popular." He couldn't help but teasing.

"The song that is popular is the one composed by my father, not me." Amano corrected him.

"Have you encountered any problems?" he asked again.

"It's been solved." Amano's eyes inadvertently swept across the trumpet box he placed on the booth next to him, and he smiled ambiguously.

"Now back to myself..." With this information from Amano, he could better determine what to do next.

From the moment he heard from the guard that Amano was coming to the school during the summer vacation, he started to dig deep into the matter, and he chose to climb the stairs and interfere in the fundamental reason of the matter.

It has never had anything to do with any other purpose.

He climbed the stairs for Amano, chose to help, proposed a plan to use Hayashi High's transformation contradictions, and even joined the Kitakura Wind Band.

It was to get close to Amano and gain something from him that he didn't have to fill himself.

"I plan to be the trumpet soloist in the competition in half a month," he said.

"That's foreseeable." Amano couldn't help but smile.

"My original plan was to teach the trumpet soloist of the Northern Sakura Band the essentials of playing the trumpet. If that didn't work out, I'd teach it myself," he explained. "Now I have to do it myself."

He still couldn't figure out what the things he got from Amano were and what they meant.

If you keep muddling along like this, even if you gain some power, you won't be able to apply it properly in your life.

He had to find a way to figure this out, starting with playing the trumpet solo, trying to understand how Amano wrote this melody when he was in junior high school, and trying to feel what was fundamentally missing from the skills he could display compared to Amano.

Amano stared at him for a while, smiling like a flower.

"Looks like we're going to have another competition, Inoue-san."
