This is what an immortal should be like

Chapter 125: Incompetence of Education

Chapter 125: Incompetence of Education
When Zhuang Lin heard Xiaowen whisper about the problematic Wanzhang Foguang Temple, he felt relieved about Liu Hongyu.

But when he sensed it again, he couldn't sense Liu Hongyu's exact location for a moment, only a vague direction, which was not normal.

The brilliant light outside the city also caught Zhuang Lin's attention.

So within a short period of time, Zhuang Lin stepped so fast that he left the city and arrived in front of the Wanzhang Foguang Temple.

As soon as he arrived here, the Buddha's light emanating from the temple seemed to be shining brightly, but in Zhuang Lin's eyes, something was wrong.
-
The true face of a real person should not be easily exposed, but Zhuang Lin has no scruples about his identity as a Confucian immortal.

At this moment, standing in front of Foguang Temple, the righteous energy in Zhuang Lin's body shone brightly, as if the sky was collapsing and the earth was turning upside down. As he walked forward, it pressed forward.

The righteous spirit is upright and majestic. Although it has the power to overturn mountains and seas, it is not as violent and wild as a raging wind or a tsunami.

It was as if, when Zhuang Lin stood there, sunlight naturally shone into the darkness, and wherever the righteous light passed, the mist and haze retreated.
The few thin clouds in the sky dissipated at this moment, and the midday sun seemed brighter, shining directly into the interior of Foguang Temple.

As the words "They are all demons replacing Bodhi" were spoken, Zhuang Lin had already arrived at the gate of Foguang Temple.

Many pilgrims who had been gathered outside the temple and were unable to enter all looked at Zhuang Lin. The voice just now was not loud, but there was a sense of grandeur in the calmness.

Even as Zhuang Lin moved forward, the pilgrims in front of him subconsciously made way for him, as if they had a kind of inner awe for the newcomer, until Zhuang Lin reached the gate of the temple.

The four monks guarding the door stared blankly at Zhuang Lin. The latter raised his head slightly and just looked at them calmly, which made the four monks' hearts beat wildly and they had a strong desire to escape.

"Open the door!"

Zhuang Lin said this calmly, and in an instant the temple gate began to sink inward.

"Clark la la la."

With a short cracking sound, the horizontal beam behind the temple gate actually split by itself. As the monks behind hurriedly retreated, the gate shook slightly with a "bang", the horizontal beam broke, and the doors opened to the left and right.

Zhuang Lin looked inside the temple and saw many pilgrims lingering in the front yard, as well as the monks holding wooden fish with uneasy faces. Then he looked up and saw the Buddha's light that was constantly retreating in front of his righteous spirit.

The Dharma Eye appeared slightly, drawing the vitality in the liver to the eyes, and a ray of clear green color appeared. The black and white energies were hidden and not visible, condensing and rotating near the deep pupils.

In Zhuang Lin's eyes, everything in the so-called Buddha's light inside this Buddhist temple was visible.

Although the Buddha's light is bright, hidden within it are still various desires, some of which are even stronger than those of the so-called pilgrims here.

As Zhuang Lin walked into the temple, the Foguang Temple, which had just been shrouded in the Buddha's light, was now filled with a righteous spirit that overwhelmed everything. Only the two main halls and the pagoda were still condensing with strong Buddha's light.

Of course, all the pilgrims in the temple have also fully awakened.

Moreover, this kind of clarity is different from just a dream in a trance. There is a strong sense of fear. Although I can't see the Buddha's light and swastika from before, I seem to get a kind of feedback from the depths of my mind to avoid danger and seek good fortune.

Zhuang Lin walked into the courtyard and saw that the pilgrims were still in a daze. He just whispered a word.

"Walk"

Although it was just a single word, it instantly spread to every corner of the temple and reached everyone's ears.

This word contains a vast meaning, and it will also wake up those who are still not awake. It is not only pleasing to the ears, but also to the heart. It awakens the spirituality dormant in the spirit of ordinary people at the mental level, and makes people know how to avoid danger and seek good fortune!

Many pilgrims woke up as if from a dream. Those in the courtyard were the first to rush out of the temple, but as the crowd moved, they subconsciously avoided Zhuang Lin.

Some scholars passed by Zhuang Lin, and the great awe they felt made them bow to him as they walked, and many ordinary pilgrims also followed suit.

Although they had only been staying in the temple for a short time, and now they were leaving, the pilgrims felt an inexplicable sense of having survived a disaster. They all bowed to the Confucian scholar before leaving, feeling much more at ease.
When they arrived outside the temple, the crowd leaving the temple dispersed like a tide, and many pilgrims who originally wanted to enter the temple did not dare to go in for a while.

Many people kept asking about the pilgrims who came out.

"Hey brother, what happened in there just now?"

"Yes, isn't it to find the Buddha's fate?"

"What are you looking for? Let's go!" "Let's go, let's go, don't go in!"

"Why?" "Yes, why? I came here specially to burn incense today!"

"No reason, I don't know, it's scary!"

"Yeah, my heart is trembling inside, and I feel like I can't get out. Let's go!"

"Let's go, you guys should go too, today is really weird!"

Some people were still kind-hearted and did not want outsiders to enter. As a result, many people left Foguang Temple along with the pilgrims who poured out like a tide.

There were even people wearing monk robes among them, most of them were monks with long hair, and there were also monks and nuns who had truly attained enlightenment.
In the end, only a few curious people gritted their teeth and stayed outside the temple, but they did not dare to go in easily.

Liu Hongyu and Zhao Chenyu were also among the departing crowd, but they were too far from the front gate, so they left through the side door with the pilgrims and some young monks.

Zhao Chenyu was basically awake throughout the whole process and kept asking questions when he left.

"Master Liu, what happened just now? What's going on now? I seem to hear the sound of poetry and someone telling me to leave. Did you hear that?"

From the moment Liu Hongyu woke him up, Zhao Chenyu had a vague feeling that this Young Master Liu was unusual, perhaps knowing something. "Mr. Qiming, please don't ask any more questions. We can't stay here for long. Let's go."

Zhao Chenyu also agreed with the statement that it was not advisable to stay here for a long time. He couldn't explain why, but he felt uneasy staying here, but he was still full of doubts.

"Who is the person speaking? Why does he seem familiar?"

"Stop talking, let's go!"

Liu Hongyu was also at a loss whether to laugh or cry. Mr. Qiming was chattering non-stop. Look at the other people around him, they all looked frightened and had no time to talk. They were all walking quickly out of the temple!

By the time the two of them and the people around them had exited the temple's side door, the crowd was still retreating, and some people had already recovered a little and were talking to each other.

Of course, there are also some impatient people who will question the monks who ran out with them, asking what happened just now, why people want to leave without giving them a good look, and why they feel confused and dizzy when listening to them chanting Buddha's name?

Those young monks had no idea what was going on. Some of them were even frightened because they were there to "bathe in the Buddha's light" with their hair uncut to seek good luck.

However, these people eventually left quickly, as people still felt uneasy staying around Foguang Temple.

Liu Hongyu and Zhao Chenyu were naturally among the "busybodies" who remained outside the temple.
-
It was clearly noon, the time when incense was most popular in the day.

But in this huge temple, apart from some monks and nuns who had been ordained for a long time, there was only one outsider left.

And the remaining person is not here to burn incense!
A noisy sound of footsteps was heard, and many monks holding sticks and even knife handles ran out, led by a group of old monks. The leader was the abbot of Wanzhang Foguang Temple, who was also the one who had listened to the Buddha's instructions before.

There were still a large number of monks remaining in the temple. At this moment, at least two hundred people, mostly monks but also a small number of fierce nuns, had rushed here and surrounded Zhuang Lin from a distance of twenty steps.

These monks are no longer ordinary people. They all believe that they have achieved great accomplishments. Some of them even compare themselves to arhats who have descended to the mortal world.

But at this moment, facing the Confucian scholar who looked like an ordinary person but was definitely not ordinary, everyone stopped twenty steps away, no one dared to take another step forward. Even standing there, they felt a strong sense of unease.
The leading monk shouted angrily.

"You, who are you? What kind of monster are you? How dare you act rashly in this pure Buddhist place—"

"Who are you, a monster? How dare you act rashly here—"

"You are so presumptuous in coming to the Buddhist land, you are simply asking for your own life—"

Hearing the angry shouts, many fierce monks also cursed and scolded.

And in the ears of these monks, there is always a Buddhist sound echoing.

"Evil demon, evil demon, evil monster, kill, kill him, kill him, cut him open and dig out his heart, kill him"

Zhuang Lin seemed to be oblivious to everything around him. He just stood in the front yard of the temple, looking at three places in the temple with his Dharma eyes. There were three kinds of Buddha light in each place!
Is this so-called Wanzhang Foguang Temple mainly dedicated to the Two-phase Tianyin Bodhisattva?
The two forms of the Two-Aspect Heavenly Sound Bodhisattva are originally one. Even though some temples will separate the two forms into two halls, the aura is essentially the same. It is absolutely impossible for there to be two halls with two Buddhas, let alone such evil Buddha light.

While he was thinking, Zhuang Lin seemed to be finally annoyed by the noise of the monks around him. He looked up at the old monk who was leading the group. This look was like someone holding a whip and hitting the old monk's heart hard, making his heart suddenly twitch.

"Noisy!"

As soon as the words fell, all the monks around felt a sharp pain in their throats, their mouths sealed, and when they opened their mouths, their throats and tongues were silent, and at most they could only utter a short, painful "Aiya".
Moreover, the monks soon discovered that it was not only their mouths that were sealed, but also their physical cultivation. They felt increasingly weak, and their hands and feet became limp.

The monks felt more and more pain, and their bodies became heavier and heavier. In a trance, it seemed as if the brilliant light of righteousness had pressed down on them. They dropped their sticks and weapons, covered their throats, and were forced to kneel or sit, unable to stand up. The pressure made it difficult for them to breathe.

"They violate the Way and harm your reputation, they deceive people's minds, they are so filthy, they are worse than beasts!"

Zhuang Lin walked and talked as he passed by, but it seemed as if he was just passing by. He did not attack the terrified monks around him, and walked towards the middle door leading to the backyard.

At this moment, at the middle gate, the old monk who was the abbot had his eyes wide open with anger, but when he saw Zhuang Lin looking up, infinite fear suddenly rose in his heart.

When he met those eyes, the old monk seemed to see all kinds of afterimages and pains, many of which he had experienced himself. At this moment, all of them were pressed into his heart.
Zhuang Lin was dozens of steps away when the old abbot's feet gave way and he fell to the ground. His cultivation seemed to have disappeared, and he was so frightened that he trembled and screamed.
"As the Buddha said, if you lay down your butcher knife, you will become a Buddha instantly. Don't make mistakes. Even if I made a mistake, I am willing to repent."

Seeing that Zhuang Lin did not stop and had already reached him, the old monk blurted out anxiously.

"As the sages said, beware of punishing without teaching!"

Zhuang Lin was stunned by what he said. It was so absurd that he couldn't help but laugh. Then he walked past the old monk and continued walking towards the backyard of the middle gate.

"The sage said that we should avoid punishing those who fail to teach. However, you old monks, Zhuang is incapable of teaching. Perhaps the sage has a way!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Zhuang Lin had already gone far away, but the feeling of oppression in the old monk's heart became stronger and stronger. In a trance, he could no longer see anything around him, and could only see a filthy and dark world.

But in this world, some white light seems to penetrate into some marginal areas. This white light is tearing through the darkness and burning the filth. Wherever it passes, all the dark colors are fading.
At first, the old monk subconsciously rushed towards the light. He didn't want to be trapped here.

It was a burning and warm feeling, but the closer he got, the more intense fear rose in the old monk's heart!
Looking down, I saw that I was covered in filth and darkness.
This is the place where the spiritual platform in the heart reflects everything, which is dark. The filthy ink reflects all kinds of unbearable and cruel things, but the light of day has come.
The old monk seemed to be fleeing left and right amidst this brilliance, but the dark areas were becoming fewer and fewer, and countless "selves" in the filth had already perished amidst screams.
If this light falls on me, I will die, right?
This thought came to me out of nowhere, but I didn't have time to dwell on it. The brilliant light of the sky had already covered every corner.
During the years of seclusion, influenced by Xi Miao's warnings, Zhuang Lin also pondered over ways to deal with and restrain the way of illusion and charm, and also gained some results.

In fact, the method of restraint is also simple. The so-called magical and bewitching way, the righteous spirit is the best restraint.

It also allowed Zhuang Lin to take a step further, and while contemplating the way of illusion and mystery, he realized the changes in the great righteousness.

The illusions and bewitching spirits are ever-changing, and they bring up all kinds of unbearable entanglements of love and desire in people's hearts. Then the great and righteous energy can overcome them. It can not only boost the positive thoughts of people with righteous hearts, but also suppress the evil spirits externally, and can also attack the mind if one asks the truth!
It can be said that this is also a kind of magical method of mind and spirit cultivated by Zhuang Lin, which is between the realm of illusion and mindfulness!

Not long after Zhuang Lin walked through the courtyard of Foguang Temple, most of the monks who remained in the temple had already passed away.
Zhuang is incapable of teaching, so I'd rather send you to see the saint!
