Chapter 8 Saving Someone
The boy glanced at Gu Shihan, then drank from her hand without even flinching.

"You...aren't you afraid I'll poison you?" Gu Shihan asked incredulously. Wasn't this the heir of a prince's family? How could he be so unguarded?

"Brother Gu, you wouldn't do that. Besides, if you wanted to harm me, you could have just stood by and watched. Thank you, brother, my injuries are much better now," Xie Ziming said, enduring the pain.

"It was nothing, thank you Ziming. You're dressed like a wealthy person, don't you have any attendants with you? How can you contact them? Your injuries are quite serious, it would be better if you went to a clinic," Gu Shihan said.

"Most of the guards I brought with me are dead. I don't know how many are left. Young man, could you do me another favor? See the pouch at my waist? There are signal flares inside. Take it outside the cave, pull the thin rope at the bottom, and throw it into the air. My men will see it and come over," Xie Ziming said.

“No problem!” Gu Shihan took out a small ball, walked out of the hole, gently pulled the string, and casually tossed it into the air.

The sphere shot out, soaring into the sky, accompanied by red and white light. It was similar to modern fireworks and quite beautiful.

"Young man, are you from a nearby village?" Xie Ziming asked Cheng Xiang.

"Yes, but he's a dead man," Gu Shihan said calmly.

"Why? Why do you say you're dead? What about your parents? Don't they care about you?"

"Both my parents are dead!"

"This... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to reopen your wounds, but even if you don't have parents, you still have grandparents, uncles, or other relatives, right?"

"Hehe, my father was bitten to death by wolves, and my mother and I were killed by so-called relatives and our bodies were dumped in Wolf Valley."

Thankfully, I didn't die. I regained consciousness, and then I escaped Wolf Valley with my mother's body. After burying her, I lived in these mountains.

"You...you didn't report it to the authorities?" the boy asked in surprise.

"Report to the authorities? Even if I do, I'll still have to go back to my home. The laws of Dong'an Kingdom are too unfair."

Could I possibly live peacefully in a house like that? It's better to live freely and have no further connection with that family.

“Yes! Although I am better off than you, with parents and relatives, we are both in the same boat. Why should we need to know each other before we meet? From now on, you, Shi Han, will be my little brother, Xie Zimo.” Xie Zimo nodded.

Xie Ziming thought for a moment and then said, "Brother Gu, since you have no family left, why don't you come with me?"

Gu Shihan chuckled twice, trying to sound casual, "Little brother, yes, little brother! I think it's best not to cause you any trouble! Hey, there's a noise outside."

"It must be my men who have arrived!" the young man said after a moment's thought.

"Okay, Xie Ziming, take good care of your injuries. Here are some healing pills and hemostatic powder that I made. Keep them, I'm going out to take a look!" Gu Shihan said and quickly left the cave.

"Are you leaving just like that? Young man, we'll meet again!" Xie Ziming said in a low voice.

Three armed guards and two masked bodyguards arrived outside the cave. Upon seeing Gu Shihan, they immediately assumed fighting stances.

"Your master is inside. Also, remember to clean up the bodies over there properly, don't leave them there to scare people."

Gu Shihan glanced at it, said something, and quickly slipped into the woods and left.

"Come in!" Xie Ziming's voice came from inside the cave. The five ninjas quickly entered the cave, knelt on one knee, and said, "Your Highness, we have failed to protect our master. Please punish us!"

Xie Ziming sighed and said, "This is not your fault. The young man just now was my savior. You must not neglect him." "Young Master, that man has already left! Tell them to clean this place up!" Yingyi, the head of the secret guards, replied.

"Gone?! Just like that? Fine, let's leave this place! Let's clean up the traces!" Xie Ziming was stunned for a moment, then smiled bitterly.

Several guards dealt with the men in black and the bloodstains, and then took Xie Ziming away from Lingshan.

Gu Shihan returned to the cave where she lived. Today, she had personally sent her enemy to Wild Wolf Slope, avenging the original owner of the body and her mother, Liu Shi. She felt much lighter.

He opened the bundle he had brought back, took out the swords and knives to examine them, and was quite satisfied. He then put them into the invisible moonlight bracelet.

The things in this space are really not very useful; they're too advanced and not suitable for use. But with these, we won't have to worry about not having any weapons.

Gu Shihan emptied the money pouches she had taken from the men in black and counted them. There wasn't much; all the men had only 170 taels of silver notes, a little over 7 taels of loose silver, and a little over 300 copper coins.

Gu Shihan accepted it all with a smile, thinking that the silver she had stolen from Granny Shi meant she now had quite a bit of money.

You should know that a family living here can survive on three taels of silver a month, and ten taels would make them live quite well.

She felt much more at ease. Even if she left, she wouldn't have to worry about making a living for a while, and she didn't want to rely on the space to survive.

Of course, those spiritual grains, vegetables, and fruits still need to be sourced from the space, as they are good for one's health.

Perhaps because she had let go of her worries, Shi Han successfully guided Qi into her body.

Seeing the dark layer covering his body, Shi Han rushed out of the cave and headed straight for the pond in the valley.

He plunged in with a single dive. The pond wasn't deep, and it took him quite a while to wash away the greasy black oil.

Gu Shihan returned to the cave feeling refreshed and couldn't wait to enter the space. As soon as she entered, she sensed something different; the white mist seemed to have receded by about ten feet.

Gu Shihan was overjoyed. Just by drawing qi into her body, she could change the space. Would the space become larger and better as her cultivation level increased?

Suddenly, a little ball of fluff rolled out of the white mist and landed at Gu Shihan's feet, its tiny paws clutching her trouser leg, its wet eyes sparkling with starlight.

This is so cute, so adorable! Shi Han reached out and picked up the little white ball. It was fluffy and felt so nice to touch.

Although Gu Shihan is an assassin with a cold and capable appearance, she still has her own ideas. For example, she likes fluffy little animals, but such animals were not allowed to exist in her previous life.

The little white ball is a small white fox, so tiny, weighing less than two pounds.

The little white ball rubbed against Gu Shihan's small hand, and its mouth opened and closed, actually speaking human language: "Hanhan, I am the spatial spirit of the Moon Bracelet. Since you have recognized the Moon Bracelet as your master, I am yours. You must treat me well."

"Oh! You can talk? That's great! My name is Gu Shihhan. What's your name? Please take care of me in the future!" Gu Shihhan smiled and held the little white fox's paw.

The little white fox covered its eyes with its tiny paws and said somewhat dejectedly, "I forgot!"

"Don't be sad. If you forget, I'll give you a name. You're all white except for your dark, sparkling eyes. From now on, you'll be called Xingbai (Star White), how about that?" Gu Shihan comforted her.
