Chapter 285: The Tortured Batman

Chapter 285: The Tortured Batman

"Stop kidding me!"

Martin shook his head at Diana and told her about the Warriors of Ren, Luther, and the Metropolis gang.

"From Metropolis to Los Angeles, they've crossed the entire American continent. Should we say these guys are patient, or are they just ruthless?"

Diana stroked her chin, thinking as she spoke, "I originally thought only people from Los Angeles and the White House would get involved. But I didn't expect Luther to jump out again before they even arrived."

"What does he want to do? Is he trying to get a chance to return to the United States by letting someone else play as a striker?"

Martin shook his head slightly. "Maybe. Although I often try to guess what people like Luther are thinking, I really can't understand their train of thought."

"But Luthor is too proud. He will definitely want revenge on the Justice League, but he will definitely not be inferior to others."

"How did he turn things around?"

Superman rushed in, and since it involved Luthor and Metropolis, of course he had to be notified.

"The Luthor Group is gone. Even if Lex Luthor is very smart, without the support of resources, he can't turn the ideas in his mind into reality."

"You taught me this!"

Superman hates Luthor very much because he always emphasizes Superman's Kryptonian identity, which makes people very annoying.

Martin rolled his eyes as he listened to Superman's hurried speech. "Your understanding of economics isn't that superficial, is it? The reason multinational corporations have become so powerful, aside from their monopoly on technology, is more importantly because they occupy the upstream of the international production chain, allowing them to acquire the natural resources and human resources of Third World countries at extremely low prices."

"Through such economic exploitation, multinational corporations control a country's import and export activities, thereby completing a subtle form of economic colonization."

Of course Superman knew this. Even if he didn't know it before, he had to know it after what happened in Kandak.

"Lex Luthor's greatest characteristic is his lack of hypocrisy. He truly regards things like 'Superhumans are a cancer on Earth' and 'Kryptonians must be driven off Earth' as goals that must be achieved."

"Just like the ancient priests, we firmly believe that God is omnipotent. This is not something we believe in, but an objective reality."

Martin unknowingly entered the state of a Jedi Knight who was fond of talking about philosophy.

Although these concepts were not difficult for Superman and Diana, Diana still placed her hand on Martin's hand and squeezed it gently to stop him.

"I think we should talk about something more realistic now."

"oh oh!"

Martin coughed lightly, regained his composure, and said seriously, "What I mean is, someone like Luther wouldn't do any charity. He'd definitely extend his hand to certain third world countries. These kinds of relationships are hard to show on the surface. Even if the Luther Group's assets were divided up, Luther would still be able to control these relationships."

"The materials used in the robots made by the Knights of Ren should be those that Luther obtained from those third world countries."

"And he himself is hiding there!"

Superman clapped his hands and jumped up excitedly as if he had discovered some secret.

"I'm going to find that bastard right now!"

He was so wary of Luther that he rushed out without waiting for Martin to finish his words.

"Is he crazy? South America, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, even Central Asia, South Asia, and Southeast Asia could all be Luther's hiding place. He's searching aimlessly like this. How long will it take him to find him?"

Diana tried to stop Superman but failed and could only stare at Martin in amazement.

"Let Superman go. He can fly fast enough and his heat vision can see through everything."

Martin paused here and couldn't help laughing. "This is going to be a headache for the Americans. Their overseas bases can't block Superman's heat vision."

After mocking the Americans harshly, he turned his attention to the Knights of Lun and Luther.

"Luther's appearance isn't necessarily a bad thing. Although the Luther Group has collapsed, his reputation remains. Killing him will deter those who harbor ill intentions towards the Alliance."

"Of course, it's impossible to make them give up their attack on the Alliance, but at least we can force out those hiding behind the scenes."

Diana smiled and said, "How do you always turn bad things into good things?"

"Otherwise, you can't just worry about bad things and worry yourself to death!"

Martin had already made his decision: "Bruce is about to finish his negotiations with the White House. He and I will go to Metropolis. We must not stop what's going on in Los Angeles. We must pick out those superhumans with strong adaptability and have them help us."

"Now that the International Gang has been defeated, it won't be easy for Luther to find other collaborators. The most likely option is to look for new collaborators locally."

Martin was silent for a few seconds. "Constantine has experienced the demonic invasion of the human world, so he will definitely stay away from Los Angeles. But Zatanna may not leave. Ask her to connect us with Midnight Daddy and calm the local gangs down."

Of course Diana knew what it meant to stay calm. If those gangs insisted on taking the opportunity to cause trouble, it would be time to make an example of them.

Killing the chicken to scare the monkey does not mean that all gangs must be wiped out. It is simply a means to deter the enemy.

Before doing this, he still had to reach a tacit understanding with powerful figures like Midnight Dad to prevent things from getting out of control. "I'll leave the Los Angeles matters to you and Arthur! I'm not worried about Dick, but Barry still needs time to adjust to the realities of life."

Martin was a little nagging today, but Diana didn't mind. Instead, she analyzed these things with him seriously.

"One last thing. I need to borrow your invisible plane! The solar boat is too big, and it's too conspicuous when it moves. Anyone can tell where I am."

"There's no need to mention the word 'borrow' between us!"

Diana waved her hand and handed the invisible plane to Martin.

"The Jedi have their own fighter planes. Do you really need to borrow one from me?"

Martin shook his head. "Most Jedi-specific fighters lack combat effectiveness, so I usually prefer to use standard fighters, such as the X-wing. They can fight and run, and they are also very beautiful."

"However, I didn't see my X-wing fighter today. I guess it didn't come with me to this world."

When talking about this matter, Martin still felt a little regretful.

The hyperspace engine in the Star Wars world is much more reliable than the warp navigation in the Warhammer world.

From a safety perspective, there are no monsters or demons in hyperspace.

In terms of adaptability, even the smallest cargo ship can be equipped with a hyperspace engine, and it can fly very fast, making it one of the most suitable engines for Earth.

However, since Martin's X-wing did not follow him, he no longer thought about those distant things.

He said goodbye to Diana, boarded the invisible plane, and flew towards Metropolis.

On the way to the flight, he contacted Bruce, and the first thing the other party said was: "I can't believe you turned into a Jedi Knight today?"

"Is it really that serious? Jedi Knights aren't gods. Why are you all reacting like this?"

Martin was very dissatisfied with Bruce's teasing. If it weren't for the screen, he would have given this guy the middle finger.

"Let's get down to business. Can we clarify the ownership of the Luther Group?"

Bruce shook his head. "Of course not. When the Luther Group's assets were divided up, several departments were involved. To make a killing, they cooked the books. The people involved in each department also made a killing, cooking up the books again. And when the assets were released to the market, they cooked up yet another round of books."

"Three layers of fake accounts shield each other, forming a dense web of truth and falsehood. It's possible to unravel the whereabouts of domestic assets. But if you want to understand the relationship between the Luther Group and third world countries, it will take several years of research and it's simply impossible."

"Then I might as well pray that Clark can find Luthor's secret base with his own eyes."

Faced with such a situation, what else could Martin say? He really had nothing to say and could only respond to Bruce with a wry smile.

"Well, since it's impossible to find any clues from the Luther Group, we can only start with the International Gang."

Talking about gangs, Bruce became excited.

"Actually, I noticed the International Gang a long time ago. This organization always has access to some very high-tech weapons, some of which are even beyond the current era."

"I once tried to research weapons sold by the International Gang, but as soon as I started to dismantle them, they destroyed themselves."

"So he already has a criminal record. No wonder Luther chose to cooperate with the International Gang."

Martin set the stealth plane to automatic cruise mode and said thoughtfully, "Some people say that the International Gang's weapons were obtained from aliens. Have you considered this possibility?"

"Before you and Clark showed up, I hadn't thought about it. However, after you showed up, I tried to investigate this aspect, but I didn't get any useful information."

Bruce flipped through the intelligence in his hand and said in a deep voice, "I've found all the routes they use to transport weapons. I've also interrogated members of the International Gang, but I haven't gotten any information about the source of the weapons."

"Could it be that they have mastered some kind of space transfer technology?"

Martin replied, "Based on my understanding of aliens, if the International Gang is truly connected to aliens, it wouldn't be surprising for them to have acquired space transfer technology."

"So, you're going to face the people in Metropolis with your identity?"

"Batman's identity, of course. I just spent a long while arguing with those hyenas in the White House. I'm done with the rhetoric. I just want to punch some bastards and teach them a lesson."

When Bruce said this, his tense face finally relaxed a little.

He was severely tortured by the politicians in the White House and Congress. The constant offense and defense he had to carry out in order to balance the interests of all parties caused great harm to his body and mind.

He almost didn't suppress his Batman side and just pulled those old bastards out from behind the desk and punched them in the face.

"Don't worry, I don't intend to play the game of first using courtesy and then using force against the International Gang. Let's just rush in and see what secrets they have."

Egypt plus Los Angeles.

The presence of the International Gang both times made Martin begin to suspect that the leader of the International Gang, Bruno Mannheim, had other intentions. Otherwise, why would he go to Africa instead of staying in the metropolis?
