Chapter 285 Intertwined

Chapter 285 Intertwined
After hearing that the partners of the detective agency have recently focused their attention on the academy,
Doug is obviously very interested in the "special investigation commission" currently being conducted by the detective agency:
"Mr. Wayne, if possible, I would also like to participate in the investigation that the detective agency is currently conducting."

Wayne didn't mind Doug's participation. After all, if Doug was there, communication within the city would become much simpler.
Although Seth Grayson's ability can transmit information to a certain extent, it is obviously more suitable for use "in action" and is still not convenient enough for daily communication.

But Wayne thought about it:
"But those peripheral members you recruited should mostly choose to join the detective agency in order to create a better life, right?
"The survey we are currently conducting may not directly generate benefits. Are they willing to accept a relatively low income for a period of time? This may not be consistent with what you promised when you recruited them."

This did make Doug hesitate for a moment.
Then Doug thought about it:
“Perhaps some peripheral members will be dissatisfied with this, but some peripheral members still choose to accept recruitment for the protection of the church, and they may not object to this.

"And the person who recruits them and the person who directs their actions don't necessarily have to be the same person. If someone quits easily, then they're probably not the person the detective agency really wants to recruit."

Separate "hire" and "employ",

This is indeed what an organization should do after it becomes bigger...

Wayne was still thinking about it when the voice of Sanders suddenly came from outside the dormitory door:
"Sorry, there's a conversation going on inside, so visitors may not be welcome for the time being."

Then there were two knocks on the dormitory door, followed by a brief pause.

Sanders popped his head in, "Mr. Wayne, there's a man who calls himself Seth Grayson waiting to meet you."

"Let him in. Also, from now on, we should address anyone we don't know as 'Mr.' or 'Ms.' in principle."

"Yes."

Wayne responded to him first.
Then I realized that as the detective agency had more people, I seemed to be starting to look a little more "cool".

When others want to meet, they actually have to "wait".

Seth Grayson quickly walked into the dormitory.

The dormitory door was closed again, and Sanders continued to stand at the door with his hands hanging down like a bodyguard, his back still straight.

Wayne introduced each other's identities to the two men.

Doug is currently the only "official agent" in the detective agency, so it's no problem to say he has "senior status".

As for Seth, he can now be considered a "member" of the detective agency, but whether he can actually join depends on his subsequent performance. At least he cannot be a bait sent by the other party.

Doug and Seth looked at each other, then Seth lowered his head, avoiding Doug's gaze.

Doug continued to look at the other party, then spoke first, but did not extend his hand. "As one of the veteran detectives of the detective agency, you are welcome to join us."

Seth lowered his eyes and nodded in greeting.

"Anything new, Seth?" Wayne asked.

Seth Grayson heard this and still seemed to be slow to react as usual, as if he was thinking.
At the same time, he glanced in Doug's direction inquiringly, as if to confirm whether Doug could listen.
After Wayne said "no problem",
Seth Grayson continued:
"We have discovered two more fallen people who need to report to the college church on a daily basis. However, they do not have any daily interactions with you, Mr. Wayne, and they do not seem to be trying to get information from you or the detective agency.

"And there is a new situation. Miss Olivia Fisk's visits to the college church in the past two weeks seem to be a little abnormal."

Ok? !

Miss Olivia?!
As Ian Fisk's sister, Wayne promised to pay attention to news related to her and ensure her safety.

Judging from her family background alone, Miss Olivia should not be easily "taken advantage of" by others.
But think about this young lady's "achievements"...

When Wayne first knew her, she was kidnapped.
It seems that her brain is not very alert... Wayne frowned slightly, "Do you understand the general reason?"

Seth Grayson bowed his head:
“It’s not clear yet. Although Miss Olivia is very popular in the academy, her social circle is not very wide, so it’s difficult for us to get information from those ladies.

"Ms. Inissa and Miss Lina have been taking classes with Miss Olivia recently, but it's not easy for us to ask them."

"I see."

Wayne thought for a moment and said, "For those who are not so important, I allow you to make preliminary contact in the name of the detective agency. The reason is to represent the church and confirm the living conditions of the 'fallen' with no criminal record in the parish.

"If they are under duress, we can help them to a certain extent. Remember, the bishop advocates leniency towards harmless 'fallen ones'.

"If you encounter people with problems or special identities, such as Miss Olivia, you can bring them together and I will communicate with them personally."

"Yes, Mr. Wayne."

Seth Grayson promised, then walked away with his head down.

Doug pondered for a moment and asked, "Sir, are we investigating the Beyonders who are related to the church in the academy?"

Wayne raised his index finger to his mouth and asked, "Any questions?"

"of course not."

Doug's expression was slightly stern. "I believe you must have sufficient reasons, sir. But isn't it a bit risky to entrust such a job to a newcomer?"

Fish bait is supposed to do this.

The extent to which the detective agency will accept Seth in the future will depend on his actual stance on this matter.

Wayne thought about this, and at the same time he seemed to have a better understanding of how the church viewed Inissa.
He thought for a moment:

“Let me put it this way, Doug. If you want to get involved, you should integrate the newly recruited members into the detective agency as soon as possible, or they can leave in time.

"Those you think are outstanding, such as Sanders, who you brought here, can be recommended to become agents."

"Yes, I will as soon as possible."

Well……

You don't want to run the office anymore?

In fact, there are quite a lot of steam train lines in Virginia. Even if we don't get the security contract from the line operating company for the time being, the profits from cracking down on wanted criminals along the way are estimated to be good in the short term.

Although 5 US dollars may seem like a lot, if it is only used to pay salaries, based on the minimum guaranteed income of 6000 US dollars per agent, it would only be enough to pay 30 people per week. For 200 agents, it would only be enough to pay for weeks, which is less than four years.

Wayne thought again:

"By the way, among the peripheral members you recruited, are there any locals who have lived in Virginia for many years? If so, ask them to contact their families in time to report their safety.

"By the way, let them find out if there are any gangs that seem to have secret bases like the 'Skinny Gang' we saw earlier?"
