Under the Red Dragon.

Chapter 53: Only Legends Can Face Legends

Chapter 53: Only Legends Can Face Legends
Perhaps because the White Tower was not built very tall, it was deliberately widened a lot. Perhaps the wizard also released some spells about folding space in the White Tower. After Charon's eight-meter-tall body entered the White Tower, he actually felt a sense of emptiness.

And behind this empty reception hall blocked by the gorgeous screen, there must be a more vast space. Karon did not understand space magic, but this was his intuition as a true dragon.

Led by his attendant puppet, Caron walked up the wide winding stairs. The stairs were engraved with mysterious magic runes. Under Caron's gaze, each magic rune seemed to contain unique meaning and power.

The entrance to each level of stairs is guarded by fully armored magic guards. The iron armor covering the entire body and the long sword emitting cold light reveal fluctuations of magical energy. These are sophisticated magic weapons.

The magic guards' pair of red eyes appeared from the iron helmet that completely covered their heads, and they were fixed on Charon's figure. However, the guidance of the puppet made them stay where they were and loyally guard the upward passage.

Karon had no idea how many flights of stairs he had climbed following the puppet, but in his impression, there were far more than six. When he thought that the stairs seemed to go on forever, the puppet attendant leading the way finally stopped in front of a white door.

Two puppets dressed as maids bowed to Caron and said, "Dear guest, the master is waiting for your visit inside. Please come in."

Although Karon felt somewhat uneasy, as the methods displayed by this mysterious wizard in the white tower were completely consistent with his stereotype of those powerful wizards, fortunately, he could see some of the attitudes of this wizard from the attitudes of his servants.

So the red dragon pushed open the door and stepped in.

To Red Dragon's surprise, this floor of the White Tower was just a simple space, like a slightly larger attic. It seemed to be a place where the owner of the White Tower occasionally rested and relaxed. There was simply a lounge chair and a small table covered with a beautiful tablecloth placed in front of the wide floor-to-ceiling window.

The cup on the table was emitting steam, and an old wizard with white hair and a light robe was gazing leisurely out the floor-to-ceiling window in a daze.

Hearing the red dragon's footsteps, the white-haired old wizard turned around and said with a smile: "You are here, sit anywhere." The magical light flowed in the wizard's hands, shattering the magic ring that imprisoned the red dragon.

It seemed that this wizard had no fear of the dragon's approach, and his squinted eyes with a smile on his face made Charon feel very familiar. The red dragon probably knew where the squinty-eyed wizard Xiuser got the habit of squinting his eyes and smiling every time he spoke.

Karon didn't have any unrealistic ideas. He was causing trouble in the mage tower of a sanctuary wizard. Well, even among the five colored dragon species, only the white dragon would do such a thing.

The red dragon walked over and sat obediently next to the wizard, looking out the floor-to-ceiling window. In the distance, the tall and majestic Imperial Palace appeared before his eyes with bright lights.

"Look, the palace of His Majesty the Emperor of this empire is so tall. No building in the entire city can be taller than the Emperor's palace," said the smiling old wizard, pointing at the palace.

"Actually, anyone with a discerning eye can see through your purpose, but those nobles dare not take any action now, because this is the path chosen by His Majesty the Emperor."

"Until the Emperor fails, these cowardly and greedy nobles will bury their heads in the ground, hoping that the Emperor will not notice them."

Kalon knew that the mage in front of him would not be talking casually, so he asked in confusion: "The path you choose? What path?"

"Do you know what is the most important thing to become a mage?" The white-haired old mage suddenly changed the subject and asked. "Spiritual power? Or magical elemental talent?" Caron was a little confused. He hated the way the riddle man behaved. Unfortunately, his fist was not as big as the other party's, well, not in a physical sense.

The white-haired wizard shook his head. "You are wrong. To become a wizard, the most important thing is your perspective on the real world and your way of thinking."

"Everyone observes a different world. What they see and hear is not the real world, but a projection of the world projected into your consciousness through your perception. Therefore, most people, including mages, have a large error in their understanding of the real world."

"The more powerful the mage, the deeper his understanding of the real world. Or, conversely, the deeper the mage's understanding of the real world, the more powerful he is."

Charon treasures this rare and valuable knowledge very much. After all, dragons have no inherited knowledge in this area, and they can be at the top of the food chain just by relying on dragon blood.

Although he didn't know why the wizard would teach him this knowledge, which was valuable to most people, he pricked up his ears and tried to digest the wizard's words.

"And this is also the most important point in entering the legend." The old wizard didn't seem to care how shocking his words were. He raised his right hand and asked the red dragon: "Do you think this is the right hand or the left hand?"

Kalon knew that the wizard's question was definitely not that simple, but after thinking for a while, he was still confused and could only answer hesitantly: "Right, right hand."

The old wizard smiled so hard that his eyes almost narrowed completely, leaving only a slit in his eyes. He picked up the cup on the table and took a sip, moistened his throat, coughed, and then spoke, "Legend says that if it's the right hand, it's the right hand, and legend says that if it's the left hand, it's the left hand."

Huh? Caron's eyes widened immediately. "Can legends tamper with other people's cognition?"

"That's right and that's not right." The old wizard didn't keep Kalon in suspense this time. His expression became serious.
“Every authentic legend must build his own complete world cognition and understanding based on the real world. These cognitions and understandings will also become the unique abilities of each legend.”

"But every legitimate legend has a basic commonality, which is that they can use their own understanding of the real world to override other people's cognition. In other words, if you are not a legend, then you are facing a creator."

"Even the golden dragons with the strongest bloodline among the dragons, the outstanding dragons among them can have the ability to compete with legends when they reach adulthood."

"But when facing a legendary wizard, even if this wizard cannot kill the dragon, he can easily trap it. The legendary wizard can even take time to go to other planes to conduct an interesting experiment."

"This is also why only those who have reached the legendary level are qualified to step out of the main plane and enter the astral plane and the void to travel and adventure. In the astral plane and the void, there is no conventional concept of up, down, left, right, and objects."

“Many places are even in chaos. Only by building your own complete and unique understanding of the world can you avoid being trapped by these places.”

The old wizard warned Caron with a serious face: "In the future, if you encounter other legends before you reach the level of legend, remember to run as far away as possible. Only legends can face legends!"

Well, I'm speeding up the pace, and ending this plot as soon as possible.
