Chapter 73: Circulation 6 Void
Chapter 73 Circulating the Six Voids
……
early morning.
Before the army was ready to set out.
Wu Wen found Master Zhu Jiu who was doing his daily warm-up exercises.
"Master Jiu!"
"I have made some modifications to the Crane Form Fist. I will teach it to you. You can try to practice it!"
"Crane Fist?"
Master Zhu Jiu stopped and looked at Wu Wen in confusion, then said with a smile: "Okay, call me and see!"
She held out her hand and motioned for him to begin the demonstration.
Wu Wen took a step forward and slowly got into position.
The starting posture is still the starting posture of Crane Form Fist, but the following movements are somewhat different from the original Crane Form Fist.
Master Zhu Jiu watched attentively.
I noticed that Wu Wen's slow, gentle and flowing movements did not look like boxing at all, but more like dancing.
The crane-shaped hands are spread out naturally, swaying lightly with the rhythm of the body, like crane wings flapping in the wind.
The steps are flexible and varied, sometimes jumping, sometimes sliding, forming a wonderful harmony with the surrounding air and breeze.
The movements are becoming more and more smooth; every turn and every swing of the arms contains a certain rhythm that is pleasing to the eye.
After finishing a set of boxing moves, Wu Wen stood still.
Master Zhu Jiu exclaimed: "Colorful, it's really wonderful!"
"But after you changed it like this, it doesn't look like Crane Fist to me anymore, it looks more like Crane Dance!"
"Crane Dance? That's pretty fitting!"
Wu Wen smiled and explained: "I just incorporated the rhythm and tempo of dance into the original Crane Form Boxing to make it more vivid.
Long-term practice can not only gradually make your body shape closer to that of a crane, strengthen your body, but also prolong your life.”
Hearing that it could prolong life, Master Zhu Jiu immediately stepped forward and asked softly, "Are you serious?"
"Of course!"
Wu Wen nodded affirmatively.
He incorporated many spiritual practices essentials into this set of crane dance, such as the transportation of qi and blood, and the practice of inner alchemy.
It would be strange if this didn't have some miraculous effects.
—
The army sets off.
On the march.
While teaching Zhu Jiuye the "Crane Dance", Wu Wen continued to study the "Zhouyi Cantongqi".
This book is far more profound than I imagined.
Although it only has more than 6,000 words, the more he studies it, the more he discovers its infinite mysteries.
The reason for this is that the circulation of "Qi" in "Zhouyi Cantongqi" is summarized in just one sentence.
But this passage is like a bottomless pit when you want to understand it thoroughly. The more you explore, the more you can feel its depth.
Although the concept of "vector" in modern physics is not directly mentioned in the book, Wu Wen can perceive from the theories of Yin and Yang, Five Elements, and Eight Trigrams that the content of the book metaphorically constructs a concept of "vector" and applies it to describe the dynamic changes and development trends of things.
What is a vector?
A vector is a physical quantity that has both magnitude and direction.
Direction and size are the two basic elements for describing the movement of all things in the world.
Where is the object facing? What is the energy it contains and the forces it is subject to?
However, in a complex and ever-changing world, it is difficult to fully and accurately describe the motion state of an object with only a single dimension of direction or size. Only by combining direction and size can the motion state of an object be fully and accurately described.
The reason why vectors can integrate direction and magnitude is that there is an inherent, basic law between direction and magnitude in the movement of objects.
They are interdependent and complement each other, and together constitute the state of movement of objects.
That is, interactivity.
For example, force, electromagnetic field, etc.
These interactions are not only related to the magnitude of the force, but also closely related to the direction of the force.
Only by considering both the magnitude and direction of the force can the interaction effect between objects be accurately described.
For example: displacement, velocity, force, momentum, magnetic moment, current density, etc. are all vectors.

Theory of Gua Qi in the Book of Changes: Circulating through the six voids.
The yin and yang energies evolved into images six times between heaven and earth, circulating over and over again in constant change.
There are six directions and six positions, and the yin and yang energies are constantly flowing and changing in these positions.
In "Zhouyi Cantongqi", the idea of vector construction is based on yin and yang.
In the Book of Changes, Yin and Yang are the most basic concepts, representing the two aspects of unity of opposites.
Yang is regarded as the positive direction of the vector, and Yin is regarded as the negative direction of the vector. The alternation and transformation of yin and yang represent the change of the direction of the vector.
Five Elements:
The five elements: gold, wood, water, fire and earth, and the relationship of mutual generation and restraint between them reflect the interaction between the size and direction of vectors.
For example: Water produces Wood, which means that vector Water promotes Vector Wood, increasing the size of the wood; while Metal overcomes Wood, which means that vector Metal inhibits Vector Wood, reducing the size of the wood and possibly changing its direction.
Evolution of Bagua:
The Eight Trigrams are composed of three lines and have a total of eight basic forms, representing eight basic phenomena and laws.
Through the mutual combination and evolution of the Eight Trigrams, sixty-four hexagrams can be formed, representing the sixty-four possibilities of the development of things.
The Eight Trigrams and Sixty-Four Trigrams are regarded as different states and change paths of vectors, and the dynamic changes of vectors are described through the evolution of the trigrams.
The combination of heaven, stems and earth:
There are ten Heavenly Stems and twelve Earthly Branches, each representing different energies and states.
The Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches are regarded as different components and attributes of vectors, and their coordination and changes are used to describe the complexity and diversity of vectors.
For example:
Use "Zhouyi Cantongqi" to describe the motion state of an object in two-dimensional space.
Then:
Initial state: The object is stationary at the origin, which is represented by the “Qian Gua” (Qian represents the sky, pure yang, and stillness). At the same time, the Heavenly Stem “Jia” (the beginning of yang wood) and the Earthly Branch “Zi” (the beginning of yang water) are used to represent the initial energy and state of the object.
Movement begins: the object begins to move to the upper right, which is represented by the "Xun Gua" (Xun means wind, representing flow and diffusion). At the same time, it is combined with the Heavenly Stem "Yi" (the beginning of Yin wood) and the Earthly Branch "Yin" (the beginning of Yang wood) to represent the new energy and state acquired by the object.
At this time, the Yin Yao of "Xun Gua" can be regarded as the component of the vector on the vertical axis (upward), and the Yang Yao can be regarded as the component of the vector on the horizontal axis (rightward), thus forming a vector slanting upward to the right.
Motion change: As an object moves, its state keeps changing.
According to the actual movement trajectory and speed changes of the object, select the corresponding hexagrams and heavenly stems and earthly branches for coordinated description.
For example: when the speed of an object increases, you can choose hexagrams representing masculinity and growth (such as Zhen and Li) and heavenly stems (such as Bing and Ding) to match them.
When the direction of an object changes, you can choose hexagrams (such as Kan and Gen) and earthly branches (such as Chen, Si, Wu, etc.) that represent turning points and changes to match them.
And this is the method of using "Zhouyi Cantongqi" to describe, deduce and predict the dynamic changes and development trends of objects.
