Chapter 35: Points Soar
Upon hearing Zhang Xiao's words, Gu Chonglin immediately recalled the scene from that day. "I only remember that group of monkeys chasing and biting me; I don't remember anything after that."

Upon hearing this, Zhang Xiao jumped to his feet and said viciously, "Fine! I knew it was all related to that little bitch Xia Zhi!"

Gu Chonglin opened his mouth in surprise, but in the end he didn't say anything. Anyway, he didn't say it was because of Xia Zhi.

As soon as Xia Zhi stepped into the yard, she saw Lu Beiting sitting in a wheelchair feeding the chickens.

Lu Beiting stiffened as Xia Zhi returned to sleep, then heard a cold snort behind him, followed by the sound of a door closing.

Lu Beiting sighed in exasperation, finally put down what he was holding, and turned to go back to his room.

When Xia Zhi came out of the room, Lu Beiting was already gone.

She walked over to the chicken coop and glanced at the chicks that had grown a bit, and there were even two eggs next to them!

Xia Zhi's eyes lit up, and she quickly picked it up. Eggs! They're so nutritious!
After looking around and seeing that no one had noticed, Xia Zhi carried the small stool inside.

Lu Beiting watched Xia Zhi's figure disappear from the window before closing it.

Xia Zhi went to the corner, squatted there and muttered, "Please, let me have a little animal heal my illness, anything is fine, please, please!"

After rambling on and on for a while, I suddenly felt a headache coming on.

"hiss!"

She reached out and touched it, feeling its furry texture. She picked up the little thing and brought it to her, then hugged it and petted it for a while.

"Well, you've even learned to use sneak attacks!"

The little monkey rolled around in her arms, and after a while, Xia Zhi's clothes were all dirty, but the monkey was much cleaner.

Xia Zhi held the little guy up in the sunlight and looked at it; it was golden and shiny, and her eyes suddenly lit up.

"Little guy, you're a golden monkey! No wonder you're different from those with pointed snouts and monkey cheeks."

Xia Zhi loved it even more. The little guy looked just like a picture she had seen before, a well-behaved golden monkey sitting curled up in a ball, its fur shimmering in the sunlight.

"Alright, alright, sit down. I have important things to do."

She gently patted the little monkey on the back, gesturing for it to sit on her shoulder.

The next second, a fluffy long tail stood in front of her, and upon closer inspection, she noticed some scratches.

"Hmm?" She peeled back the skin and saw some scratches that looked like tree branches. "Serves you right for being so cheeky!"

Despite scolding it, I still took out some medicated wine from the side and rubbed it with it. After a careful examination, I found that the little guy had a lot of injuries, including bites, scratches, and some scabs.

She hadn't noticed it before because it was all covered by fur. Looking at the little guy who had fallen asleep in her arms, Xia Zhi touched its head guiltily.

[Ding-dong, congratulations host, you have earned ten points.]

Only ten points.

Xia Zhi rested her chin on her hand, looking at the surrounding mountains. She wished she could go up the mountain.

Just then, the little monkey that had been sleeping in her arms woke up, scratched its head in a daze, and then ran away from her arms.

Watching the little guy leave, Xia Zhi smiled helplessly. "You little ingrate."

Xia Zhi, who had been sunbathing for a while, was about to go back inside and think of a solution another day when she heard a familiar sound. Then she saw a little monkey sitting on the wall licking its fur.

Then one, two, three... a dozen little monkeys appeared around him.

Xia Zhi plopped back down; it turned out she had gone to help her drum up business.

"Come on, one at a time!"

Xia Zhi carefully examined their wounds, then applied medicine, or trimmed any scabs.

Hearing the voice in his mind, "[Congratulations, host, points +10, +10...]"

The smile never faded from her lips. After checking the last one, she stretched contentedly. "Alright, alright, that's enough for today. Go home now."

Although it's little, it's better than nothing! Xia Zhi happily carried her small stool back to her room, but after passing Lu Beiting's room, she paused and then knocked on the door.

A hoarse voice came from inside, "Come in."

Lu Beiting rubbed his head, which ached a little from sleep, then frowned and looked at the doorway with some discomfort.

Why is Zhang Yi bringing the food so early today?

Xia Zhi pushed open the door and saw Lu Beiting sitting up.

Lu Beiting was also quite surprised to see her.

Xia Zhi walked over directly, then took out her acupuncture kit, and Lu Beiting cooperated by lifting the blanket.

Seeing that she was still worried about his injury even though her own hand hadn't healed yet, he felt a strange mix of emotions.

"Your hand is still injured. Should we wait until it gets better before giving you acupuncture?" Lu Beiting frowned as he looked at her right hand, which was wrapped up tightly.

"It's none of your business!" Xia Zhi said, picking up the needles with both hands and starting to insert them. Fortunately, she was quite strong, so inserting the needles was no problem for her.

She needed to get him cured quickly and pay back the points she owed. She hadn't even treated a few people yet, and she was already heavily in debt.

Lu Beiting moved the corners of his mouth but said nothing more, simply watching her every move in silence.

Xia Zhi seemed to have gained some weight since he first met her, and looked healthier. He wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but she also seemed to have become much fairer.

After Xia Zhi finished administering the last injection, she looked up and met Lu Beiting's probing eyes. Then, her gaze faltered slightly as she looked away from his.

He went to sit down and waited for the time to come to retrieve the needle, then thought about his own private tutoring.

She doesn't know how to do it. Although she can play with mud, she doesn't know how to make things out of it.

As she thought about it, her gaze involuntarily drifted towards Lu Beiting. This man should know how, right?

"What's wrong?" Lu Beiting turned his head to look at her, a rare tenderness appearing in his eyes.

"Do you know how to build a stove? I'd like to cook for myself, and it would also make it easier to prepare your medicine that way."

Xia Zhi rested her chin on her hand, looking at him with curiosity and admiration.

Lu Beiting wanted to suggest borrowing a stove from Sister Chen, but seeing the look in her eyes, he swallowed his words.

"I can do it; I've done it for the villagers before."

Xia Zhi looked at him with surprise, then gave him a thumbs up, "Lu Beiting, you're amazing." So talented!

"It's alright." Lu Beiting lowered his head and a smile involuntarily appeared on his lips.

Xia Zhi, with her sharp eyes, caught that fleeting smile and was momentarily stunned.

So that's what "feeling like a spring breeze" means.

But he still stubbornly said, "Cough cough cough, Lu Beiting, you'd better not laugh anymore, it's creepy."

Lu Beiting's lips instantly drooped, a chilling look on his face.

Xia Zhi bit her lower lip to suppress her laughter, and deliberately turned her back to avoid giving herself away.

Hahahaha!

After removing the needle, Xia Zhi quickly slipped away.

Zhang Yi, who came to deliver food to Lu Beiting at mealtime, saw the battalion commander sitting on the bed deep in thought and asked curiously, "Battalion Commander, what's wrong?"

Lu Beiting frowned and looked at him. "Don't I look good when I smile?"

Zhang Yi stiffened. "Have you... laughed?"

"roll!"
