Chapter 538 Check-in

Chapter 538. Check-in
Four people in suits, three men and one woman, got out of the vehicle without attracting much attention from the people around them.

A place like the Ganbi Building gathers guests from all over the place, so any kind of person is normal. Moreover, there is nothing special about the looks of these three men and one woman. Apart from their facial expressions being a little stiff and looking very strange, there is nothing worth seeing.

The car they were riding in was just an ordinary 'Chevrolet Thracian 388 Jefferson'. Although this car might attract the attention of some street boys when driving on the streets of Night City, it was ultimately just a car commonly used by middle-level managers. It would only look ordinary when placed in the Blue and Green Building where luxury cars were everywhere.

Although there was nothing special about this group of people's faces, and there was no special people in the car they were riding in, the leader was holding a large box in his hands. Judging from the slightly uncoordinated left and right swings when he walked, the things stored in the box were quite heavy.

Such a large box naturally attracted the attention of the bodyguards of the Ganbi Building. After they gestured to the group of people to stop, they asked the people to line up one by one to be scanned.

The scanning blue light turned into red almost the next moment it hit the box.

The warning also made the bodyguards alert.

"May I ask why you brought combat robots into the Blue Bi Building?"

The bodyguard's hands were already on his waist. The Blue Bi Building did not allow the entry of lethal weapons. This was something that every guest knew before booking their stay. This group of people had obviously signed the relevant regulations, but were now blatantly violating them. No matter what the reason, the bodyguard should have been alert.

Faced with the bodyguards' vigilance, the group of people's expressions did not fluctuate at all, as if that indifferent face had been solidified on their faces. Before they could say anything, a concierge with a modified face, who looked like he was wearing a golden mask and shining with golden light, quickly came over.

"I'm sorry, you are the guest who made a reservation in advance, Mr. Chun. Your belongings have already passed the control in advance. It was a mistake on our part. I'm very sorry."

As the concierge bowed 90 degrees with his hands at his sides, the red light of the scan immediately turned into blue. After the alarm disappeared, the bodyguard stepped aside.

"So they were guests who had registered before. I don't know what the recorder was doing. He didn't even put their identification codes into the safe zone."

In the unexpected incident that made the bodyguards nervous, the leader, who was called Mr. Chun by the concierge, nodded slightly, and then said nothing, just walked inside with the box containing the combat robot. Judging from his walking path, he was planning to go to the registration office to register. At the moment when he and the three companions behind him passed the door inspection, Carl and others on the top floor also received the news.

"Battle robot, the customer who is scheduled to trade with a group of Russians inside the Blue Bi Building must be this group of people."

Jack looked at the surveillance footage at the entrance and said, "The Russians are real Russians, and they are indeed weapons dealers with traces. They probably really thought they were customers who came to do business with combat robots, but this group of people may not be the same."

Jack watched them finish registering. He didn't immediately go to the Russian weapons dealer to trade, but used the excuse of resting to go to the registration room. His eyes were fixed on their leader. "This face doesn't even have a disguise. This face is the face we will see in the next life."

"I guess no one would have thought that someone could see both a mercenary in the afterlife and a registered guest of the Blue Jade Building at the same time."

V said: "After all, the two sides are not on the same page."

"That's true, but not many people want to live in the Blue Bi Building."

Oliver felt that he had to explain to some mercenaries: "This place is extremely expensive to live in, and it's right in the city, and there are surveillance cameras from Arasaka. Even if you have the money to live here, it's pure suffering. With that money, you might as well rent a house for a month and decorate your own cozy home."

"So you still don't want to come, that's the same thing."

V stared at the screen on the projection: "So can we get a video of the inside of their room?"

"Don't worry, we've got it ready." Carl took out his phone and shook it. "They will definitely hack into or block the fixed cameras immediately, but we've already figured out their room, so I've installed other hidden cameras in the room in advance. Their every move cannot be separated from our eyes."

"As expected of you, Carl."

Jack sighed, and suddenly became curious: "But how can you be so sure that they live in that room?"

"I certainly can't just decorate a room."

Carl fiddled with his phone, slid out an access port at the top, and then plugged it into the projection device.

In an instant, brilliance flashed before everyone.

"I have decorated all the rooms for the guests who registered to stay today."

Looking at the ever-changing, somewhat dazzling images on the screen, Arasakaze Nobuyuki appreciated Carl's approach: "Preparing in advance is a good habit, but..."

Arasakase Nobuo looked at the phone and asked, "Karl, can your phone withstand this?"

"Don't worry, it's just a mobile phone. With V's help, it can now be considered a small data storage device. Apart from the old problem of exploding suddenly, it has no other shortcomings. And even if it explodes."

Karl took out his pocket and said, "I have two spare phones."

Oliver glanced at Carl's phone, but he didn't ask what to do if everything exploded. He looked at the constantly changing images on the projection and wanted to complain: "We are breaking the law, aren't we?"

"No."

Carl put the spare phone next to him: "According to Night City law, the company has the right to install surveillance in the places it builds and monitor them at all times."

"I have never heard of this law. Karl, have you memorized the law?"

"I haven't memorized it, but I know the general idea."

Carl's hand slid slightly across the screen of his mobile phone, and after clearing out the temporarily empty images, he locked onto the room where the three men and one woman were staying.

"Look carefully. They really can't wait."

In the video, after the four people checked around and hacked into the camera, the first thing they did was to open the large box they were carrying.

The robot that jumped out was the "Small Flathead" that Carl and the others were very familiar with.
