Chapter 348 110 Meeting

Chapter 348 110. Meeting
"Taipingzhou, I haven't been here for a long time."

After passing through Oliver's hometown, Saint Domingo, the desolate scenery of Taiping State, a half-developed and abandoned city, appeared in front of Carl.

Looking at Taipingzhou, Karl remembered one thing.

"Come to think of it, Mann and his men may have relied on the old captain's channels to go to Dogtown to hunt down Faraday. I don't know what they are doing now."

Dogtown was once a subdivision of the Pacific region, but with the end of the Unification War, this land became the independent territory of former New American Colonel Kurt Hansen. Now, it has evolved into a city within a city in Night City.

"Dog Town? Let me check the map."

After hearing Carl talking about Mann and his group going to Dog Town, Oliver in the co-pilot seat looked at the in-car map and said, "It's not far from where we're going to pick up Dexter DeShawn. Unfortunately, the inspection in Dog Town is quite strict, so it's not easy to get in without connections. Otherwise, we could go in and take a look."

"Why go to that cesspool if you have nothing to do?"

Jack in the driver's seat complained, "That place is Kurt Hansen's private empire that sells international arms. They shoot first when there's nothing going on. Even the law enforcement has its own set of temperaments. If you go there and take a look, you won't have any fun."

"I've heard before that some tribes wanted to go to the black market there to try their luck and make some money. In the end, even if it didn't work out, it would be great if they could come back alive."

V obviously knew about Dog Town. It was a place where any normal person would go and join in the fun.

"It sounds weird to hear you say that, but it seems to be just like that."

Carl thinks it's normal to open fire on the street regardless of whether there is something going on or not. It seems like Night City is not like that. It's the same thing, but it would be a cesspool if it happened in Dogtown. It must be a unique discrimination of the locals of Night City against the separated City within a City.

Carl paused for a moment, then continued, "Who knows when we'll be asked to go in for a mission? You guys are saying this and that and disliking Dog Town now, but maybe we'll have to go there someday, and then we'll have to dig into a cesspool. It's better to use a better description, or it'll be disgusting to think about it later."

"Can Dog Town take any job from Hands? Oh, he seems to be the middleman in Taiping Prefecture. Could it be that he also works in Dog Town?"

Jack asked, and then received an answer from T-BUG: "According to the information, most of the business that Hands is involved in is in Dog Town. It is better to say that the business in other parts of Taiping State is the commission he takes in his spare time."

"Hanz is doing work for Dog Town." Jack understood. "Then it wouldn't be strange if we get work from Dog Town in the future. I just hope he doesn't give us any troublesome work, such as asking us to clear out a base of the 'Hellhounds', an armed organization under Kurt Hansen. Even if we complete such a job, the whole Dog Town will be in chaos and it will be difficult to travel."

"Why don't you think of something else?"

V smiled and said, "For example, if we are asked to kill Kurt Hansen, the boss of Dog Town, that would be a more interesting job."

"Boss of Dog Town, Boss of Shit."

Oliver was repeating the words used by a group of New Americans within the Sixth Street Gang to describe Kurt Hansen, the New American traitor. However, as the most sharp-eyed member of the team, he noticed two black spots, one fat and one strong, appearing in the distance.

"I think I saw Dexter DeShawn and his bodyguard. He was standing over there smoking a cigar." Oliver smacked his lips. "I didn't expect that. I thought he would hide away after leaving a location and would show up when we arrived. But this Dexter DeShawn is really unusual. Did he find out about our arrival in advance, or was he not worried at all? He actually stood on the main road at the agreed location waiting for us."

"Whether they have excellent intelligence capabilities and discovered our arrival, or they are fearless, it can only mean one thing."

Carl looked at Dexter DeShawn, whose figure became clearer as he approached: "That means he is sure that this place is safe, and he has the ability to make sure that this place is safe."

"It's also possible that he is just stupid and doesn't know the danger. But looking at the confident look on his face while smoking a cigar, it doesn't seem likely. It's that troublesome."

Jack stared at Dexter DeShawn: "He can guarantee the safety of this place, but our journey back to Night City will not be easy."

"When the enemy comes, we will stop him with soldiers; when the water comes, we will block it with earth. Carl, how do you describe it in Chinese?" V continued to smile nonchalantly: "Who cares? I'll kill every troublemaker who comes. When we're done, there will be no more trouble."

"You are so murderous, V."

When they arrived at the place, Carl got out of the car as the team's negotiator and carefully looked at Dexter DeShawn who was also looking at him.

Judging from his appearance, this guy, known as 'Fat Black Jesus' in Night City, looks like he can accomplish great things.

Dexter DeShawn has dark skin, a fat but strong body, an unusually thick neck, obviously after some form of exercise, his black hair is shaved very short, almost bald, and he wears a pair of sunglasses. The eyes that shine through the sunglasses are sharp and deep, with a shrewd and alert temperament, which is very consistent with the killer eyes in his street rumors.

Carl's gaze moved downward. Dexter DeShawn was wearing very practical clothes. The jacket was a dark red with a black lining. This convenient clothing not only helped him to hide in the dark alleys of Night City, but also allowed him to change his appearance at any time. His left hand was intact, but his right hand was replaced by a golden prosthesis. Judging from the sheen of the golden prosthesis, he had chosen a rather expensive model that was not covered with bionic skin.

The data in Carl's mind helped him figure out the price of this prosthetic arm.

'It has a built-in power enhancement and behavior calibration prosthesis, with a gold-plated outer layer. The market price is around 300,000 Euros.'

Quite expensive.

When Carl finished sizing up Dexter DeShawn, Dexter DeShawn had also finished sizing up Carl. He swept his eyes over Carl's hands, which looked no different from those of ordinary, untransformed personnel, and finally fixed his gaze on Carl's face. Looking at that face, Dexter DeShawn smiled and stretched out his hand:

"Mr. Karl, it's an honor to meet you."

"It's an honor to meet you, Mr. Dexter Deshawn."

Extending his hand to shake hands, Carl was actually still a little surprised.

Normally he addresses the middleman with respectful terms like Mr. or Ms., but this is the first time he has been addressed as Mr. by the middleman.
