Chapter 62 Jiang He's Unexpected Miscarriage
As the first rays of sunlight shone on the military compound in the early morning, Jiang Man had already gotten up early to prepare breakfast for her family.

Today is her first day working at the state-run restaurant. She feels both excited about her new job and a little nervous and uneasy.

She carefully combed her hair, neatly tied it up, and put on a clean and crisp blue shirt paired with black pants, making her look refreshed and energetic.

Qin Yishen looked at the busy Jiang Man, walked over and gently patted her shoulder: "Xiao Man, don't be nervous, you'll definitely be fine."

Jiang Man nodded slightly, took a deep breath, and tried to calm herself down.

After a quick breakfast, Jiang Man bid farewell to his family and set off for the state-run restaurant.

Along the way, she looked at the familiar scenes on the street, her mind filled with countless thoughts.

She knew this was a new beginning in her life, and although it was challenging, she was willing to try her best.

When she arrived at the state-run hotel, many staff members were already busy preparing.

She walked into the kitchen, where the air was filled with the mixed aromas of various ingredients.

An older chef saw Jiang Man and came over warmly, saying, "You must be the new Jiang Man. Welcome, welcome. I'm the veteran chef here; everyone calls me Chef Li."

Jiang Man quickly replied with a smile, "Hello, Master Li. I hope you will take good care of me in the future."

Master Li led Jiang Man on a tour of the kitchen, explaining the function of each area and the placement of commonly used kitchen utensils.

Jiang Man listened attentively, carefully observing everything around her, trying her best to remember all this information.

Afterwards, Chef Li arranged for Jiang Manxian to start with basic tasks such as washing and chopping vegetables so that she could quickly become familiar with the kitchen's workflow.

Jiang Man arrived at the vegetable washing sink, looked at the mountain of vegetables, and without a single complaint, rolled up her sleeves and began to wash them carefully.

Her technique was skillful and gentle, washing each vegetable leaf thoroughly clean.

Seeing Jiang Man's focused expression, a female colleague nearby couldn't help but praise her, "Jiang Man, you wash vegetables so carefully; you're clearly a skilled worker."

Jiang Man raised his head with a humble smile on his face: "It's all what I should do. In the catering business, hygiene is the most important thing."

After washing the vegetables, Jiang Man started chopping them. She picked up the knife and, with steady movements, cut the vegetables into even shapes.

Her focus and professionalism caught the attention of the other chefs, and everyone looked at this new female colleague with new respect.

However, the pace of work in state-run restaurants is much faster than at home. As lunchtime approaches, orders come in like a tidal wave, and the atmosphere in the kitchen becomes tense.

Jiang Man also felt the pressure. She tried her best to keep up with everyone's pace, but she still couldn't help but feel a little flustered.

She adjusted her mindset and focused more intently on her work.

Thanks to everyone's concerted efforts, the lunch rush was successfully overcome.

Jiang Man wiped the sweat from his forehead, feeling relieved and a sense of accomplishment.

In the afternoon, there were fewer customers in the restaurant, but work continued uninterrupted. Jiang Man proactively asked Chef Li for cooking tips and recipes.

Seeing Jiang Man's eagerness to learn, Chef Li patiently explained things to her and even personally demonstrated how to make several of his signature dishes. Jiang Man watched attentively, occasionally asking questions, her eyes sparkling with a thirst for knowledge and a desire to improve her culinary skills.

During the learning process, Jiang Man also shared some of her cooking tips and creative ideas at home. Some of her unique ideas caught Chef Li's eye, and he said with a smile, "Jiang Man, you have a very quick mind. Maybe you can bring a lot of new dishes to our restaurant in the future."

Jiang Man smiled somewhat embarrassedly: "I was just thinking about it randomly, and I still have a lot to learn from you."

Although Jiang Man was physically exhausted after a day's work, she was full of energy.

As she walked home, reflecting on her experience at the state-run restaurant that day, she was filled with emotion.

She knows that she still has a lot to learn and improve, but she believes that as long as she perseveres, she will definitely be able to achieve results in this position.

When she returned home, Qin Yishen and the children were already waiting for her.

Shi An and Shi Ning rushed into Jiang Man's arms, chattering excitedly about their mother's first day at work. Jiang Man smiled, picked up the children, sat on the sofa, and recounted in detail her experiences at the restaurant.

Qin Yishen listened quietly from the side, his eyes filled with appreciation and affection: "Xiaoman, you've worked hard. I believe you will do better and better there."

Jiang Man looked at her family, her heart filled with warmth. She knew that no matter how many difficulties and challenges she encountered outside, her family would always be her strongest support.

Meanwhile, Jiang He was taking a walk in the yard as usual, gently stroking her slightly protruding belly, her face radiating a tender maternal glow.

Suddenly, she felt a sharp, intense abdominal pain, like a razor-sharp knife that shattered her joy in an instant. Her face turned deathly pale, large beads of sweat rolled down her forehead, and her body trembled involuntarily.

Lin Yanqing was handling some matters at home when he heard the commotion outside and rushed out.

Seeing Jiang He's pained expression, his heart leaped into his throat. "Jiang He, what's wrong?"

Jiang He was in so much pain that she could barely speak; she could only weakly shake her head.

Without hesitation, Lin Yanqing picked up Jiang He and rushed to the village clinic.

He walked quickly, constantly praying that nothing serious would happen.

The doctors and nurses at the clinic quickly began examination and treatment, but their solemn expressions filled Lin Yanqing with unease.

After a series of stressful examinations, the doctor reluctantly announced heartbreaking news: Jiang He had suffered a miscarriage.

Upon hearing this news, Jiang He's eyes instantly became empty and lifeless, as if her soul had been ripped from her body.

Her lips trembled slightly, as if she wanted to say something, but no sound came out.

Her heart was filled with pain, self-blame, and regret. She kept asking herself, why did this happen? Did she do something wrong?
She had been so looking forward to the arrival of this child, and had already imagined the child's appearance countless times in her mind, envisioning the happy life of the family of four in the future.

But now, all of that has vanished, and she feels as if her world has collapsed in an instant.

In the days that followed, Jiang He fell into a deep depression. She lay in bed all day, staring blankly at the ceiling, losing interest in everything around her. She no longer laughed as much as before and rarely communicated with her family.

Liu Chunlian prepares nutritious meals for Jiang He every day, although Jiang He often only eats a few bites before putting the food down.

However, the pain in Jiang He's heart was not so easily healed.

As the days went by, Jiang He's health gradually recovered, but the shadow in her heart still lingered over her.
