Chapter 455 Uniformly Distributed Gravity
"Damn it!" Luffy glared angrily at the pirate ship in the sky. "We haven't even said anything yet, and they've already opened fire!"

"Straw Hat Luffy! Surrender now!" The pirate captain's shout echoed from the sky. "You're surrounded! Hand over all your treasure and that ship, and I might consider sparing your lives!"

"What?!" Sanji lit a cigarette. "These guys are after our bounty!"

"Damn it!" Nami gritted her teeth. "They have no intention of peaceful negotiations!"

"Since that's the case, there's no other way." Zoro drew his sword. "We have no choice but to fight."

“Wait!” Borsalino said calmly. “The enemy is in the air, and we are on the sea. This terrain is very disadvantageous for us.”

Indeed, with three pirate ships hovering in the air, they could attack the Thousand Sunny from any angle, while the Straw Hat Pirates would have little chance of retaliating. This is a classic example of aerial superiority.

"The second wave of attacks is coming!" Usopp shouted.

More shells fell from the sky; this time, there were not only artillery shells, but also incendiary bombs and shotgun shells.

"Damn it!" Franky activated the Thousand Sunny's defense systems. "We can't just sit here and take this hit!"

"I'm going to shoot them down!" Luffy prepared to soar into the sky.

“No!” Borsalino stopped him. “You can’t stay in the air. You’ll fall right back down if you try.”

"What should we do?!" Luffy asked anxiously.

Shells rained down relentlessly, and despite its agility, the Thousand Sunny began to show signs of damage from the continuous bombardment. Several craters were blasted into the deck, and a corner of the sail was burned through.

"This can't go on!" Nami was on the verge of tears. "Our ship won't last much longer!"

“I have an idea!” Franky suddenly exclaimed. “If they can fly, so can we!”

"What do you mean?" Sanji asked, puzzled.

"Wind Cannon!" Franky activated the Thousand Sunny's special device. "Full power fire!"

The massive cannon at the stern spewed out powerful airflow, and the resulting reaction force propelled the Thousand Sunny forward, temporarily escaping the range of the cannon fire.

“But this is only temporary!” Franky exclaimed. “We need a more fundamental solution!”

“Could we make the Thousand Sunny fly too?” Robin suggested. “Don’t we have pumice?”

“One pumice stone isn’t enough,” Franky shook his head. “To make the whole ship fly, we need a lot of pumice stones.”

"What should we do then?" Chopper asked worriedly.

"We have to get closer to those pirate ships!" Zoro analyzed calmly. "Once we're close enough, we can jump aboard and fight!"

"That's right!" Luffy's eyes lit up. "As long as we can get up there, we can take them down!"

“But how do we get close?” Nami pointed to the sky. “They’re at least fifty meters high!”

“Leave it to me,” Borsalino stepped forward. “I can use my powers to send everyone up.”

"Really?" Luffy asked excitedly.

“But before that, we need to get close enough.” Borsalino looked at Nami. “Can you do that?”

"I'll give it a try!" Nami said through gritted teeth.

Another volley of cannon fire rained down, and Nami displayed astonishing seafaring skills. Using the waves and wind, she skillfully maneuvered the Thousand Sunny through the barrage, steadily closing in on one of the pirate ships.

"What's that ship up to?" The pirate captain asked, puzzled by the Thousand Sunny's movements. "Are they trying to get closer to us?"

"Ha! How overconfident!" the adjutant sneered. "Did they think they could jump that high?"

"Keep firing!" the captain ordered. "Don't let them get any closer!"

The artillery fire intensified. But thanks to Nami's superb ship handling skills, the Thousand Sunny moved like a nimble fish, weaving through the gaps in the shells.

"Now!" Borsalino seized the opportunity. "All combat personnel, prepare!"

Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Robin, Franky, and Brook all gathered on the deck, ready for battle.

“I’ll send you all up there with a light-speed kick,” Borsalino quickly explained the plan. “But be careful, I can only send one person at a time.”

"No problem!" Luffy rubbed his hands together, eager to get started. "I'll go first!"

The Thousand Sunny rushed directly beneath the target pirate ship. Although there was still a vertical distance of fifty meters, it was the closest it could get.

"Eight-foot Mirror - Light Speed Channel!" Borsalino's body transformed into light, forming a staircase of light in the air.

"Luffy, run up the path of light!" he shouted.

"Alright!" Luffy leaped up and quickly ascended on the light staircase created by Borsalino.

A few seconds later, Luffy successfully jumped onto the deck of the pirate ship.

"What?!" The pirates were stunned. "How did he get up here?!"

"Gum-Gum—Machine Gun!" Luffy launched his attack without hesitation. A barrage of punches sent all the surrounding pirates flying.

"Damn it! The enemy has boarded!" the lieutenant shouted. "Everyone, prepare to fight!"

"Zoro, you go up too!" Borsalino continued to create the Stairway of Light.

Zoro quickly followed and boarded the pirate ship in the blink of an eye.

"Three-Sword Style - Tiger Hunt!" Zoro's attacks were like a storm, and the pirates who rushed up fell one after another.

"Sanji!"

"Roger that!" Sanji gracefully leaped onto the pirate ship using the staircase of light. "Let me show you my footwork!"

"Demon Wind Kick - Beast Meat Shot!" The flaming kick swept across a large group of pirates.

Upon seeing this, the other pirate ships immediately adjusted their attack targets.

"Support Ship Number One!" the captains of the other two pirate ships ordered. "Concentrate fire on that Straw Hat ship!"

More shells rained down on the Thousand Sunny. Without the protection of its main fighting force, the Thousand Sunny's situation became even more dangerous.

"Damn it!" Nami gritted her teeth, gripping the helm. "This can't go on!"

“I’ll go protect the ship,” Borsalino said. “You all continue to evade!”

His body transformed into light, moving rapidly around the Thousand Sunny, using lasers to intercept incoming shells. Although he couldn't intercept them all, he at least greatly reduced the pressure.

On the pirate ship in the air, Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji were already locked in a fierce battle. Although the pirates outnumbered them, they were no match for these three powerful figures.

"Captain! It's not going to work!" the first mate reported in a panic. "Our men can't hold on!"

"Damn it!" the captain roared, drawing his weapon. "Let me handle them!"

The captain was a tall, burly man wielding a massive warhammer. He charged towards Luffy, who was engaged in battle.

"Straw Hat Kid! Prepare to die!" He raised his warhammer high and brought it down hard.

"Oh? You're the captain?" Luffy easily dodged the attack. "Looks like you're pretty strong." "Enough talk!" The captain swung his warhammer repeatedly, each strike incredibly powerful.

But Luffy's strength far surpassed his. After a few rounds, Luffy found an opening.

"Rubber rubber—rocket launcher!"

A powerful punch landed squarely on the captain's chest, sending the burly man flying and crashing through the cabin wall.

"The captain has been defeated!" The pirates watched in horror.

"Surrender! We surrender!" Some pirates began throwing down their weapons.

Seeing that their captain had been killed instantly, the other pirates lost their will to fight and surrendered one after another.

“Now, answer my question properly.” Luffy walked up to the captain, who had gotten up. “Where is Sky Lavara?”

The captain clutched his chest, staring at Luffy in horror. He had never imagined that this seemingly young boy would be so strong.

“I…I…” the captain said, trembling. “But you have to promise not to kill us.”

“I never intended to kill you,” Luffy said. “I just wanted to know the location of Sky Lavala.”

"Sky Lavala," the captain hesitated for a moment, then pointed in a certain direction. "It's over there, about fifty nautical miles from here."

“Fifty nautical miles?” Zoro walked over. “That close?”

“Yes,” the captain nodded. “That island has been hovering over that area, rarely moving.”

"Why?" Robin came up too, and she was very interested in the question.

“I don’t know why either,” the captain said. “Perhaps it’s the balanced winds in that area that keep the island in a relatively stable position.”

"How did you obtain these pumice stones?" Franky asked.

"It fell from the sky above Lavala," the captain answered honestly. "Debris often falls off the edge of the island, and we collect it in this area. It took us several years to gather enough to make three ships fly."

“I see.” Franky understood. “That’s why you set up camp here.”

“Yes,” the captain nodded. “This is our territory. Oh no, it’s yours now.”

He was pragmatic and knew he was no match for them.

“We’re not interested in your territory,” Luffy waved his hand. “Just tell us how to get to Sky Lavala.”

"Going to Skylavara is dangerous," the captain warned. "There are strong updrafts and turbulence around that island, making it difficult for ordinary ships to approach."

"How did you manage to do that?" Sanji asked.

“We use these airships,” the captain explained. “Airships can maneuver in the air, avoiding those dangerous air currents.”

“But our ship can’t fly.” Sauron frowned.

“Well…” the captain thought for a moment, then said, “If you really want to go, you can borrow our ship.”

"Borrow a boat?" Luffy was somewhat surprised.

“Yes,” the captain said with a wry smile. “Anyway, we’re no match for you. Rather than get beaten up, we might as well cooperate.”

"You're quite sensible," Zoro commented.

"If they didn't know what was good for them, they would have been killed long ago," the captain said with a self-deprecating laugh.

Just then, Nami's voice came from below: "Are you guys done?! Our ship is badly damaged and needs repairs!"

"Done!" Luffy shouted. "These guys surrendered!"

"That's great!" Nami breathed a sigh of relief.

Luffy turned to the captain: "Do you have a dock? We need to repair our ship."

“Yes,” the captain nodded quickly. “On that small island in the camp.”

“Then take us there,” Luffy said.

At the Sky Pirates' camp, the Thousand Sunny was undergoing repairs in a makeshift dock. Franky and the pirate crew's craftsmen were busy mending the damage caused in the battle.

“The damage isn’t serious,” Franky said, inspecting the hull. “It’s mainly the deck and sails that are damaged; they shouldn’t be difficult to repair.”

"I'm so sorry." Pirate Captain Wayne stood to the side, his attitude as respectful as a servant. "It's all our fault."

“There’s no point in saying this now.” Zoro leaned against the mast, warily watching the pirates around him. “Just cooperate.”

Although the battle was over, the Straw Hat Pirates did not let their guard down completely. After all, this was a pirate camp, with more than three hundred pirates around; who knew if they might suddenly turn against them?

“Don’t worry,” Wayne said with a wry smile. “We won’t go looking for trouble. Just those few people on your ship are enough to give us a run for our money.”

He was telling the truth. The battle just now made them fully realize the difference in strength. Luffy alone defeated their strongest fighter, while Zoro and Sanji were like tigers among sheep, and the pirates were simply no match for them.

"How long will it take for your ship to be repaired?" Nami asked Franky.

“About two or three hours,” Franky estimated. “But before we repair the ship, I’d like to study their flight technology first.”

"Flying technology?" Luffy's interest was piqued. "Can our ship fly too?"

“Theoretically, it’s possible.” Franky looked at the three flying pirate ships. “As long as there are enough light stones.”

"That's perfect!" Luffy exclaimed excitedly. "Why don't we just take their pumice stones?"

“This…” Wayne hesitated. “The pumice is something we’ve spent several years collecting.”

“Don’t worry, we won’t take it for nothing,” Nami said. “We’ll give you reasonable compensation.”

"Really?" Wayne's eyes lit up. He had thought the pumice stones were definitely lost, but he hadn't expected the other party to be willing to pay.

“Of course.” Nami nodded. “We’re not pirates who rob people.”

“That’s great!” Wayne breathed a sigh of relief. “How much pumice do you need?”

“All of it,” Borsalino said slowly. “All the pumice from all three ships, we want it.”

“All of them?” Wayne’s eyes widened. “But then our ship won’t be able to fly.”

“We’ll pay the market price,” Nami said. “That should be enough for you to buy a new boat.”

Wayne fell silent. Although he was reluctant, he knew that haggling was pointless against such a powerful opponent. Besides, it was already quite generous that the other party was willing to pay.

“Alright.” He finally agreed. “Our people will help you unload all the pumice.”

"Great!" Franky rubbed his hands together excitedly. "I'm going to start modifying the Thousand Sunny!"

Under Wayne's orders, the pirates began removing the pumice stones from the three airships. This was a delicate task, as the pumice stones were embedded directly in the hull, requiring careful handling to avoid damaging the ships.

“These pumice stones were all carefully cut,” Franky observed the dismantled stones. “Their shape and size were calculated to distribute gravity evenly.”
