The Wizard's Secret Journey

Chapter 10 The Brave Wins

Chapter 10 The Brave Wins
Through the cracks in the wall, Lin En saw two scoundrel-looking strangers.

One was knocking on the door and the other was standing behind.

The man knocking on the door was a stocky man with short, rough, messy brown hair. The man behind him was a little taller, with a gloomy look, smoking a cigarette.

Neither of them looked like good people.

Taking two steps back, Lin En held the dagger in his hand, took a deep breath, and searched the house for anything he could use.

He didn't know who the two men who suddenly arrived were, let alone what they wanted to do.

But in this shed there were four newly made magic tablets, and all his remaining savings of four gold dragons and fifty-eight silver wolves...

This is what he depends on for survival and is his hope for the future. No accidents can happen!

bang bang bang-

The knocking on the door continues.

The smell of smoke slowly drifted in, and a man whispered:

"Brother, it seems no one is home."

Lynn looked towards the door, held his breath, remained quiet, and a hope flashed through his mind.

The other man seemed to take a deep puff of his cigarette and said:

"is it?"

"It seems so. Let's go to another house. It seems that the kid next door is also eliminated by the school..."

"The same thing happens next door... these two are looking for the apprentices who were eliminated from the school?"

Lynn frowned.

Bang.

Suddenly there was a muffled sound outside the door.

"Brother, why did you hit me?"

"idiot!
"Keep knocking. The door is locked from the inside. He must be inside."

"But brother, what if we can't knock it open?"

"If you can't knock it open, just ram it. Do I need to teach you? Once you get the door open, beat him up first, then search the place thoroughly. Don't leave even a single bronze eagle behind!"

The expected hope was suddenly shattered, and Lin En's heart sank suddenly. The fingers holding the dagger turned white due to the force.

He stood in the dim shed, staring at the door, and his eyes seemed to see the two men outside through the wooden door in front of him.

Are they planning a burglary?

But why?
Lynn took a deep breath, his brain racing.

What is known is that these two thugs may be targeting and robbing these prospective apprentices who have been eliminated by the school.

Then maybe the reason is...

Lin En relaxed his brows and suddenly smiled.

How can there be so many reasons?

In such a world, being weak means being bullied, and if you have wealth or other good things, it is an even greater sin!
These two thugs might have just discovered by chance that these prospective apprentices were weak and vulnerable and had rich wealth.

So, like Dole whom he had met before, he developed evil intentions.

Lynn let out a long breath, walked to the door, and silently prepared for battle.

It's obviously impossible to avoid such trouble by hiding...

"What are you doing?"

Suddenly, the powerful voice of an old lady came!
'Mrs. Carter? ' Lynn was stunned.

The knocking stopped briefly.

The next moment, the leader said in a cold voice:
"Mind your own business, old woman."

"You..." Mrs. Carter still wanted to say something, but was interrupted by the man.

"I say, stop meddling in other people's business, old woman. Do you want to suffer a little?"

The knocking on the door stopped.

The two men also seemed to leave through the door.

But, they were heading towards old Mrs. Carter.

Lynn took a deep breath, unlocked the bolt, and suddenly opened the door.

Clang.

Qidi, who was knocking on the door, took a half step back, smiling jokingly:

"Wow, you finally decided to come out, you wimp!"

He looked at Lin En, his eyes lingering on the dagger in his hand for a moment, then turned back and laughed loudly at Bathory behind him,

"Ha, he's holding a dagger, Boss, do you think he can use it..."

Swish!
"careful!"

Before Qidi could finish his words, he saw Bartoli's face change and he pulled him back by the shoulder.

Behind him, Lin En was stabbing at him fiercely with a dagger in his hand!
Mrs. Carter, who was in the distance, saw this scene, screamed, muttered something, and ran away quickly.

Before Qidi could react, he felt a slight chill on his butt, and then, the chill instantly turned into a sharp pain.

"what!"

He yelled and took two steps forward.

Lin En took back the blood-stained dagger, feeling a little regretful.

He was originally aiming at the lower back, but unfortunately Bathory reacted and pulled Chidi.

Instead of chasing them randomly, he leaned against the shed, raised his dagger calmly, and pointed it at the two men.

His heart was beating so fast that one could even hear the sound of blood rushing, but the more it beat, the more calm the expression on his face became, like a peaceful lake.

"Ass...my ass..."

Qidi reached back and his fingertips were immediately stained with bright red. He shivered and murmured tremblingly.

There was a trace of fear in his eyes, and Bathory beside him was not much better, he took out the cigarette from his mouth in a daze.

Lin En keenly caught all of this and was stunned.

These two people... don't seem to be as vicious as he imagined.

Chidi moved to Bathory's side and whispered fearfully in his ear:

"Boss, this... this guy is a little different from the losers we encountered before. Why did he attack right away?
"what should we do?"

Bathory stared at Lin En, his expression changing for a moment, then he put the cigarette back into his mouth, gritted his teeth and whispered, "Why are you so scared? Try again. I can't let your injury go like this!"

He drew out his dagger and looked at Lin En coldly: "I have to admit that you are braver than your companions." "But are you sure you can handle the two of us alone?"

Companions...are you referring to Gigos and the others?

wrong.

They were just planning to go next door, probably referring to the other eliminated preparatory apprentices!

That is to say-

These two thugs have robbed other students who were eliminated.

Lin En suddenly understood something and speculated secretly:
Perhaps these two thugs tasted the sweetness of robbing a classmate by chance, so they targeted the other eliminated apprentices and began to carry out targeted robberies.

There is just one thing that is hard to explain -

How did these two thugs find this place?
The only people who knew that these eliminated apprentices lived here, apart from the school and the four-man group, were the Iron Claw Gang's manager, Ellison...

Bathory saw that he was in deep thought and thought that his words had worked, so he raised his voice and continued:

“Listen, all we want is money!
"I was just kidding when I said I wouldn't leave even a single bronze eagle behind... 10 gold royals, we only want 10 gold royals. If you hand it over honestly, we promise to let you go, understand?"

"Add another gold dragon, no, two gold dragons! Truth be told, he stabbed me in the ass, this is the compensation I deserve!"

Chidi next to him suddenly shouted.

Bathory glared at him, then looked at Lynn: “Chidi has a point.

"Your sword hurt him badly. Just two gold royals for his medical expenses is a good deal, isn't it?"

Lynn came back to his senses and looked at Bathory who kept chattering and Chidi who was holding his butt and moaning, and his heart was filled with a sense of absurdity.

He roughly figured out what kind of people these two people were...

These are just two third-rate thugs who bully the weak and fear the strong.

He came out with such a resolute attitude...

Too lazy to answer, he held the dagger and calmly looked at the two people in front of him, saying lightly:

"roll."

"……you!"

Bathory's heart trembled when he saw him like this.

While I was angry, I also had some thoughts of backing out.

He saw it clearly just now. The sword that Lin En stabbed at Qidi was clearly intended to kill!

This kind of ferocity has already frightened him, and now he is just making an unwilling attempt.

But when Lin En showed his cold and fierce look again, he immediately lost all his courage.

"How is this going?"

Just as Bathory was thinking about how to escape without losing face, a familiar voice suddenly came from behind.

Ellison from the Iron Claw Gang came over from nowhere and was watching them with interest.

To his left stood a familiar figure - Mrs. Carter.

Apparently, the old lady had run away just to call Ellison.

Noticing Lin En looking at her, the old lady smiled at him, looked him over for a few seconds, and then breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that he was okay.

He then pointed at Bathory and the other two and shouted to the steward Ellison:
"It's these two, Lord Ellison. They actually dared to come here to rob. It seems that they don't take the Iron Claw Gang seriously!"

"Damn old woman, stop talking nonsense!"

Bathory glared at Mrs. Carter in panic, then quickly put on a flattering smile and explained to Ellison:
"No, sir, we were just joking."

"Oh, really?"

Manager Ellison slowly approached, took the cigarette from Bathory's hand, and threw it to the ground.

While rolling it with her foot and patting his face, she asked slowly:
"Don't you know that this is the territory of our Iron Claw Gang?"

"Sir..." Bathory's forehead suddenly broke out in sweat. After thinking for a moment, he hurriedly took out a gold royal from his pocket and handed it to Ellison in front of him.

The two of them are just hooligans hanging around in this area and cannot be considered gang members.

He bullies the weak and fears the strong, and specifically extorts and robs those who are easy to bully. Although he carries a dagger with him all year round, he only uses it to intimidate.

Now that they have encountered gang members who are truly willing to take risks, they are naturally afraid.

Ellison raised his eyebrows and reached out to take the golden dragon.

Where did these two thieves get so much money?
He didn't ask for the time being, and waved at Bathory and the other man:
"get out!"

Bathory and the other man didn't dare to say anything. They left in a panic like stray dogs and soon disappeared at the end of the alley.

Turning around, Ellison looked at Lin En holding the dagger and smiled softly:
"It seems that Mrs. Carter's worries are unnecessary. You can handle those two thugs without my help."

He has a square face and short brown hair. When he smiles, only the corners of his mouth turn up, giving him a fake smile.

“As you said, they were just two low-level thugs.” Lin En smiled back and put away the dagger.

It seems that the two thugs were not sent by Ellison.

"That's for me." Ellison shook his head slowly. "For most ordinary people, they are like moss growing repeatedly in the damp corners of the shed. They are not so easy to deal with."

"Maybe it's just because they didn't shovel hard enough." Lynn answered softly, feeling the cold dagger in his pocket.

"Maybe... but sometimes, trying too hard can backfire." Ellison looked at him meaningfully, "Not all thugs are as weak as them."

Lin En nodded, and without saying anything else, he thanked her and said:

"Anyway, thank you for your help, Excellency."

Of course he knew that not all thugs were so weak.

In fact, he stepped out of the shed in a hurry.

But he had already made up his mind to kill.

Ellison said nothing more, and left thoughtfully, leaving the golden dragon in his hand.

Lynn wanted to find old Mrs. Carter again to thank her properly.

But the latter seemed to have work to do. After bringing Ellison back and making sure he was okay, he left quickly and was nowhere to be seen at this time.

"Thank her later."

He has more important things to do now.

As he passed the hut of the two men, Jigos, he paused for a moment.

Both sheds had doors that were locked from the outside.

"He must have gone out and hasn't come back yet..."

After packing up his things, Lynn headed towards Bauhinia Street.
