The Wolf of Los Angeles.

Chapter 218 Little Boy

A single-family home in Santa Monica.

Hawke and Edward entered the living room and met the three Mexicans brought by Campos.

Campos introduced them to Hawke one by one: "This is Raul, this is Guti, and this is Morientes."

Hawke shook hands with them one by one and asked with concern, "Have the family members been settled?"

Raul, the leader, said: "It's settled. Thank you for all you have provided. We are very grateful."

Guti said: "Life in Los Angeles is ten times better than what we had before."

Morientes is not good at speaking, he just smiles happily.

Hawke knew how to win people's hearts. He gave Edward a look, and Edward opened the bag he brought and gave each person a card.

"This is an unregistered account with some money in it." Hawke raised his hand to stop Raul when he saw him trying to speak: "Not only do you need to provide a place for your family to live, you also need to send your children to school, establish medical records, etc. All of these require money. Take it."

Raul nodded and put it away.

Starting today, these three people will officially start working.

Hawke asked Edward to remind them of some precautions.

The first is a concealed carry permit.

With Erica's connections, it was easy to pass the exam.

The second is the car.

Hawke had heard from Campos about the people from the superstar school who kidnapped girls. They would quietly follow behind another car, one in the open and one in the dark, to facilitate observation.

He planned to divide the three people into two groups, with two cars following one in front and one behind, one bright and one dark.

In addition, Hawke also rented a small villa on 20th Street, where two people would live in turn. Once his residence was attacked, they would come to support him as soon as possible, forming a pincer attack from both inside and outside.

Edward, Raul and the other two went to another room.

Here, Hawke asked Campos, "Did Pat Kingsley find anything?"

"Not yet." Campos elaborated: "We followed her for more than a week and found that she had a very regular life. From Monday to Friday, she stayed at home except for work. She went to the Catholic church to attend mass on weekends."

Hawke frowned slightly: "Kingsley has been in the industry for more than 40 years and holds a relatively high position. Having been in Hollywood for so long, is it true that she is not affected by the general environment?"

Campos understood what Hawke meant by the big picture: "We did a multi-faceted background check, and apart from some old news from 20 or 30 years ago, we found almost nothing. Jinsili is as clean as a rock."

Hawke said, "Keep investigating, keep following, and don't alarm anyone."

Campos responded: "Okay."

Hawke remembered what he had said last time about Guerrero's notebook and asked, "Where are Carol's people?"

"We're still investigating." Campos said quickly, "Fiona found a girl named Irene at Caltech. According to indirect inquiries, some people reported that she used to go to Santa Monica to spend the weekends, but she hasn't been there recently. Fiona is still collecting information about her."

He paused for a moment, then added: "Carol and the others haven't found out yet."

Hawke nodded slightly, knowing that these things couldn't be rushed.

Both sides left quickly.

Raul and his two companions followed Hawke to a nearby parking lot, took two cars from it, and followed the bulletproof Mercedes.

In the car, Hawke asked Edward who was driving: "Have you explained everything?"

Edward nodded. "I've told them everything. I think they are much more professional than me."

Hawke said: "After all, he has undergone professional training."

Edward then said, "Boss, I have looked up a lot of information about the hospital under the Ackerman Charitable Foundation that you asked me to check. They have a medical research institute in Orange County and another one in Rosario, California."

"Baja California? Mexico?" Hawke was not surprised by the answer: "Rosario is the Hollywood studio concentration area in Mexico as I recall."

Edward speculated: "They used Ackerman Pictures as a cover before. Isn't it more convenient to work in the Hollywood studio concentration area?"

Hawke said: "It's possible, you should collect more relevant information."

When the group returned to the Twitter building, Hawke discovered that there was someone sitting in front of Frank's RV in the parking lot of Venice Beach.

He took out his cell phone and called, and when the other end picked up, he asked, "Are you back?"

Frank said, "Yeah, I'm back from my trip and I brought you assholes some presents."

Hawke directly invited: "Come to the office to talk."

"Wait for me ten minutes." Frank hung up the phone, ran into the RV, took out a few handbags, left the parking lot, crossed the road, and entered the Twitter building.

He came to the front desk, smiled at the pretty receptionist, took out a small gift and handed it to her: "This is for you."

The old employees in the company were all familiar with Frank. They knew that he was the boss's friend and the company's special consultant. The receptionist quickly smiled and said thank you.

Frank went to the security department again and gave small gifts to Austin, the security director, and Jerry, the deputy director. The gifts were not expensive, but they were a token of his appreciation.

Frank lives in a parking lot in Venice Beach and often interacts with the company's security personnel, sometimes asking them for small favors.

He then went upstairs and came to Hawke's office. When he entered the door, he saw a dark face. He took out a box and handed it to him: "This is for you."

Edward took it and said, "You have some conscience."

Frank said deliberately, "Cotton planting tools."

Edward's face was already a little dark, and he quickly opened the box, revealing a very beautiful pebble.

Frank was afraid that he didn't understand, so he added: "Look at the flower floating on the stone, does it look like cotton?"

Edward raised his middle finger at him without even turning his head.

Frank came to the desk and gave Hawke another gift box.

"Thank you." Hawke opened it and found another pebble inside.

"I picked this up from 1500 miles away," Frank explained. "As you all know, I'm a pauper with only a little cash on me. I can't afford expensive gifts, so I can only pick up some natural gifts from nature and give them to you."

Hawke placed the smooth pebble on the desk and said, "It's beautiful."

Edward said unhappily, "If you really have nothing to bring, you can bring your ex-wives here."

Frank sneered: "They will tear you apart and eat you alive."

Hawke then got to the point: "How many decades have you worked in Hollywood?"

Frank was quite proud of this and immediately said, "It's been more than 40 years, and I've been a well-known figure for nearly 30 years. Do you know Don Simpson who promoted Jerry Bruckheimer? I can't compare to him in terms of fame, but in terms of seniority, Don Simpson has to stand behind him."

"I've heard of it." Hawke followed up on him, "Don Simpson's most famous works, Breakdance, Top Gun, and The Rock, are all great. He seems to have died of a drug overdose."

Frank sighed, "So, if you stay in Hollywood for a long time, you will always pick up some bad habits. No one is an exception."

Hawke took the opportunity to ask, "Where is Pat Kingsley? I remember she was representing Tom Cruise at that time. Cruise was working with Don Simpson, and Kingsley wasn't there to party with him?"

Frank was surprised at first: "Why did you turn to this old woman?" Then he figured it out: "Do you have a grudge against Jin Sili?"

Hawke waved his hand, "We can't talk about the festival. I took a business deal related to Jin Sili. Someone wants to shut her up for a while."

Frank understood immediately: "Tom Cruise, right? I follow the entertainment news. Ever since the Oscars, Cruise has been smeared in the media. It's obviously the work of professional PR. He also had a falling out with Kingsley. It's obvious."

Hawke said directly: "It seems that you know Jinsili better. Is there anything worth talking about?"

"If you ask other people, they definitely don't know." The King of Force further raised his own status: "People like Jin Sili who appear to be decent have been immersed in Hollywood for decades. They are influenced by the general environment and have their own hobbies, but ordinary people don't know. Only people like me who have climbed to the top know something about it."

Hawke didn't say anything either, but stared at Frank like a qualified listener.

The King of Force did not disappoint: "I have heard people say before that Jin Sili goes to church to attend mass every weekend, and she goes to a Catholic church."

When Edward heard this, he saw that Frank had stopped talking and his eyes widened: "That's it? We found out too!"

Frank gave Hei Xiaoshuai a disdainful smile, as if the two were on completely different levels.

Hawke was confused at first, but soon thought of something and asked, "Catholic? Little boys?"

Frank said, "It's the favorite of the priests, and it's also the favorite of a certain type of people. If they don't see it for a while, they will lose their appetite and sleep."

Edward was somewhat surprised: "A 70-year-old lady is old enough to be a grandmother."

"You have dealt with Hollywood more than once and have experienced a lot of things." Frank asked back: "Do you think age is a problem for Hollywood perverts?"

This reminded Hawke of Wagner and Redford. The latter was in his 60s, but still looked like a mess.
There's nothing strange about swapping the positions of men and women.

Most importantly, Catholicism is involved.

The story of the priest and the boys has continued from the Middle Ages to modern society.

Hawke still asked one more question: "Is this reliable?"

Frank said: "It was definitely reliable before, but now I'm not sure. I've been away from the core circle of Hollywood for a long time, and these are news from a long time ago."

He gave an idea: "It's actually very simple to verify. Ask someone to check. If Jin Sili goes to a Catholic church every once in a while, then she is probably still keeping her old habits."

Hawke had heard Campos mention this before, and said, "She still goes to the Catholic church."

Frank said, "Have your people follow her and investigate."

Hawke made a note of it and planned to contact Campos later.

Edward suddenly asked Frank: "You have been immersed in Hollywood for many years. What kind of problem have you contracted? Could it be similar to this?"

"Don't put me on par with those perverts!" Frank said seriously, "I have contracted a strange disease, the same disease as Elizabeth Taylor, marriage anxiety."

He was clearly not joking: "When I meet a woman I like, I can't wait to marry her, and then... it ends miserably." (End of this chapter)
