Ming Jiajing: Starting from Immortality
Chapter 305: Lift up the Kingdom of God and fill the sea with ashes!
Chapter 305: Lift up the Kingdom of God and fill the sea with ashes!
Mughal Empire, Sun Temple.
The three main gods of Brahmanism, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, stand facing each other.
Brahma created the universe and controls the destiny of mankind.
Vishnu maintains peace in the universe and shows a fearless spirit of rewarding the good and punishing the evil, so he is most respected by people.
Lord Shiva can not only destroy the universe, but also subdue demons and multiply worldly activities.
Reincarnation and karma permeate the three worlds.
Varna, the contemporary high priest of Brahmanism, wears a precious sarong made of brocade silk.
When not in use, it hangs down on the ground like a flowing long skirt. This is also the norm for Brahmins in the Brahmanism. In this world, there is no situation for Brahmins other than in their leisure time.
Besides, the sarong does not look good when worn while working, as the hem must be pulled up to the crotch, like a large "diaper".
Even if the style is very free and casual, it is not something that can be appreciated by the world.
The high priest Varna was eating fish with his hands.
Brahmins are the aristocrats of the religion and the incarnations of gods. Most of them are vegetarians, and the high priest Varna is no exception.
But there are many non-vegetarian foods among the Brahmins, such as fish, chicken, pigeon, duck eggs, mutton, fish meat, etc. After offering sacrifices to the main god, believers can share these offerings.
This is the "gift from God".
As the largest and tallest sun temple on the South Asian subcontinent, it is a minimum requirement to have constant incense burning day and night, and numerous sacrifices are also indispensable.
There were probably hundreds of different kinds of food placed at the feet of the three main gods, and they were changed every day.
But today, Varna obviously wanted to eat fish.
Akbar, the emperor of the Mughal Empire, entered the hall under the guidance of the divine guards and immediately knelt down facing Brahma.
Then, he stood up and knelt down before Vishnu, and finally, he stood up and knelt down before Shiva.
Perhaps it was a coincidence or an accident, but no matter which god Akbar knelt down to worship, Varna's figure would be in the direction of that god.
He knelt before the main god and also before Varna. When Akbar knelt before Brahma, he noticed Varna's behavior. Under normal circumstances, he would never kneel down.
Facing Val's smiling eyes, Akbar knelt down three times in a row. Akbar was also smiling, but when he lowered his head and knelt down, no one could see the shadow on his face.
After kneeling down to worship the three main gods, Akbar stood up with a bright smile, and at Varna's invitation, sat on the cushion together.
Having already knelt, Akbar did not bother to be polite and said, "Varna, I need your help."
"The gods have helped you enough." Varna wiped his hands with cotton cloth from the East and said casually.
The Brahmans had long been tired of this warlike emperor, and the endless holy wars had consumed countless faiths and ashes of the main god.
Although the Brahmins do not care about the ashes, they do care about the faith (offerings) provided by these ashes.
However, Akbar always supplemented the Brahmanic beliefs, which made the Brahmans very happy.
However, the Brahmins were not happy when Akbar planned to launch an attack on the East.
There are some Buddhist traditions in Brahmanism. No one knows better than the Indian Buddhists why Master Xuanzang was able to obtain the Mahayana scriptures so smoothly, with one pass after another, without any significant obstacles.
Because the path to the true scriptures that Master Xuanzang walked was not even as fast as the Tang Dynasty's cavalry.
Six hundred years have passed since the end of the prosperous Tang Dynasty, but its glory still shines in Asia. Although separated by the Himalayas, one day, a crack will appear in the Himalayas, and the Eastern Cavalry will come out from it. The Brahmins think it is not impossible.
As for the protection of the main god, forget it. If Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva came to the world, the first ones they would kill would be the Brahmins.
No one could believe that Varna, the high priest of Brahmanism, was a staunch atheist.
Varna would not believe the horrific rumors that the Eastern Iron Cavalry had emerged from the Himalayas, but simply thought that there was no need to fight against the Eastern Land.
Daman and Diu and Goa are two port cities. Their size on the map is only about one percent of the current Mughal Empire. From Varna's perspective, it doesn't matter whether Portugal takes them away or the Eastern Navy takes them away.
Brahmanism does not lack this belief.
Whether it is to be at odds with Portugal, the maritime overlord, or with the Ming Dynasty, the giant dragon of the East, it is not a good thing for Brahmanism, but it is likely to bring disaster.
The supreme interests of Akbar's Mughal Empire and the Brahmanism of the Brahmins are inconsistent.
Akbar and the Mughal Empire wanted to have as large a territory as possible. If they could recapture those world-class ports that connect the East and the West, huge profits would be generated.
The Mughal Empire might one day become the overlord of the sea, or even the overlord of the world.
Akbar might have become the emperor of the sea and the emperor of the world one day.
This was the supreme interest of Akbar and the Mughal Empire.
But Brahmanism is different.
For a sect, there is only one supreme interest, and that is the believers.
Brahmanism does not care about the size of the Mughal Empire, but only cares about the more believers there are in the religion.
When Akbar launched a holy war in the South Asian subcontinent and Central Asia, the interests of Brahmanism and the Mughal Empire were barely aligned: you expand your territory, and I increase my followers.
But as a "centrist", what the hell are the East and Europe on both sides?
Although the Brahmans were not well-informed, Varna, which often had dealings with Arab merchants, and the entire Brahman community knew the general situation on both sides.
Before last year, the beliefs of the East were firmly controlled by Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. Not to mention that no one could penetrate them, but if other beliefs wanted to enter, they would inevitably be severely beaten.
In this year and beyond, forget about believing in the East. The Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism that had been orthodox for thousands of years were destroyed by the Ming Emperor who was like the sun in the sky for more than 40 years. The people of the Ming Dynasty either secretly brought statues of gods and Buddhas into their homes or set up the faceless statue of the Ming Emperor at home. The reason why Brahmanism ran to the East to compete with the Ming Emperor for believers was nothing more than that they were tired of living.
As for the European continent, Brahmanism can be introduced, but it is limited to that. It is hard to say how many believers it can have.
The church defined all beliefs other than its own as heresy. Varna had some understanding of the church's cruel methods of dealing with heretics. Unless they were Europeans who were tired of living, no one dared to change their beliefs.
In short, even though Akbar and the Mughal Empire recaptured Daman Diu and Goa, and seized control of the Strait of Malacca from the Eastern Navy, and even further, even though the Mughal Empire defeated the Eastern and European armies and dominated the world, it did not bring much benefit to the believers of Brahmanism.
The east is not bright, and the west is not bright either. The Brahmins do not want to develop believers among the native Africans. America can be tried, but it is too far away. The Varna and the Brahmins felt that they had done a good job for Akbar and the Mughal Empire by mobilizing an army of 300,000 ash soldiers.
No more!
Akbar was not at all surprised by Varna's rejection. He was a sensitive person. In the past six years, he could clearly feel the changes in the Brahmin's attitude towards him. Now that he was here, he thought of something that Varna and the Brahmin could not refuse. He said, "Then what about the Kingdom of God?"
Varna, who was pouring buffalo milk spiced with cardamom, fennel, cinnamon, cloves and pepper, apparently lost his concentration and the milk tea overflowed from the cup.
Kingdom of God.
It literally means the kingdom of God.
The Taoist kingdom of God is Heaven, the Buddhist kingdom of God is the Western Paradise, and the church’s kingdom of God is Heaven.
All faiths have the Kingdom of God, just with different names but the same nature.
The Jade Emperor and the gods live in the Heavenly Palace, Tathagata and the Buddhas live in the Western Paradise, and God and the angels live in Heaven.
The kingdom of God in Brahmanism is the original world, where Brahma and the original beings live.
Without exception, the Kingdom of God of all faiths is either in heaven or somewhere far away and unreachable.
As the incarnation of gods, Buddha, God, and Brahma, he represents the gods to spread their teachings in the world, and what he pursues is to turn the world into the kingdom of God.
However, no one from Taoism, Buddhism, the church, or Brahmanism has achieved this.
Mount Longhu, Shaolin Temple, Vatican City, Temple of the Sun, these are all places where gods manifest themselves on earth, not the kingdom of God.
A country is a state.
In this world, there are countless gods and countless believers, but it is impossible to establish a country without faith, an army and weapons.
The so-called religious jihad is all bullshit, but avoiding killing and persuading people to be good are the underlying tone of all beliefs.
In this world, if you want to establish a kingdom of faith, you must take up arms and form an army, but this goes against your faith.
This is purely a double-edged sword.
The only way to establish the kingdom of faith is to use one's words to convert believers who are in the sea of suffering.
Not to mention how difficult it is to convert a country's mortals with words, let's just think about how to protect the kingdom of God from invasion after it is established.
As the army approaches, the gods appear and bring down divine punishment to destroy the army?
Even wild boars know how to protect their territory through brutal charging, using their fangs, and biting. Humans cannot be worse than pigs.
If you want to protect the Kingdom of God, you have to rely on the army.
However, the Heavenly Palace, the Western Paradise, Paradise, and the Original Realm can have heavenly soldiers and generals, Arhats, Bodhisattvas, punitive angels, and armies of original humans, but the kingdom of God on earth cannot have these.
In doctrine, this is praised as "the test from the gods."
To establish the Kingdom of God, an army cannot be formed, and neither can an army be formed to defend the Kingdom of God. This fundamentally blocked the possibility of the Roman Empire combining politics and religion, where the emperor and the pope were the same person, and directly exalting the Kingdom of God.
But this also blocks the possibility of all incarnations of gods to exalt the kingdom of God.
As a result, the incarnations of gods are scattered throughout the world, leading the people of the world to do good during their lifetime and return to the kingdom of God after death.
Under the closed logical loop, it is basically impossible to establish the kingdom of God on earth.
Basically none, not completely none.
Akbar took the teapot from the stunned Varna and said slowly: "If there is a place in this world that only Brahmins are allowed to enter and exit, it has the best things in the world, the water is full of lotus, the roads are full of white cows, the men are wearing sarongs, and the women are wearing saris..."
Akbar poured himself a cup of milk tea, and with every word he spoke, Varna's eyes brightened a little, and by the end, Varna's eyes were like the stars in the sky.
It is true that Varna is an atheist, but he hates living in the same area and breathing the same air with lower-class people.
Even the Kshatriyas, who were just below the Brahmins, were detested by the Varnas.
The "Brahman kingdom" mentioned by Akbar may not be called the human kingdom of Brahmanism, but the scene depicted is very similar to the scene of the kingdom of God in Varna's fantasy.
"Is a place like this the kingdom of God?" Akbar asked, picking up the milk tea and taking a sip.
Varna nodded without hesitation and said, "Of course."
Varna added in his mind, at least in his mind.
A hint of coldness flashed across Akbar's eyes, but it was fleeting. Even Varna, who was sitting in front of him, thought he was seeing things.
"I can build such a kingdom for Brahma, and raise it high, making it the 'original world' that everyone yearns for. People living in the kingdom don't have to worry about anything. All good things will be available, and there will be no danger." Akbar put down the boiling milk tea, looked into Varna's eyes, and promised.
The real Kingdom of God was impossible, but as the emperor of the Mughal Empire, he was able to create a false Kingdom of God in the empire, eliminate all things that were inconsistent with the Kingdom of God, and then send troops to guard the periphery of the Kingdom of God and take charge of security affairs.
The Mughal Empire had a population of more than 100 million, but the number of real Brahmins was less than 1 percent. For him, the emperor of the Mughal Empire, creating an "original world" where hundreds of thousands of people could live was both difficult and easy.
Varna's heart was surging and he could hardly control himself, but he never expressed his feelings in this state of mind. It was not until his body and mind gradually calmed down that he said, "Akbar, what help do you need?"
"Three million Ash Army..."
"I promise you."
"No, I'm not finished yet. Three million Ash Army may not be enough."
Akbar leaned forward with his hands on the table, staring at Varna like a ferocious tiger staring at its prey, grinning with his mouth wide open, and said, "Thirty million Ash Army!"
Varna was completely stunned and couldn't come back to his senses for a long time.
This is at least 20% of the population of the Mughal Empire. Is it worth it for the two port cities of Daman and Diu and Goa?
Or, did Akbar really want to become the world hegemon?
More than 30 million ashes can fill up the Ganges. The Brahmin Varnas often cannot understand the "Kshatriyas". Are unlimited territory and unlimited power really that important?
When Varna came to his senses, Akbar had already left the Sun Temple. Standing under the sun, Akbar believed that the "darkness" behind him would agree with everything he said for the sake of darkness itself (the kingdom of God).
He didn't care about the Vaishyas, Shudras, and untouchables, let alone the noble Brahmins.
The sun was rising slowly in the east, and Akbar whispered like a demon: "Zhongyuan, here I come!"
