Chapter 33: The Good Man's Past
Chapter 33: The Good Man's Past
……
Oenomamus was pinned to the ground.
No one was holding down this young, strong and terrifying "bear", but the gravity restraints applied to it were like a bear catcher's iron trap, preventing it from moving.
There was a corpse in front of Ono.
None of the bodies belonged to the nobles or their lackeys; all of them were the bodies of the rebels and the civilians who chose to follow them.
The High Knight's lackeys were shooting people in rows.
At the sound of a gunshot, dozens of people in a row fell to the ground in an orderly manner.
"Traitor! Traitor!"
Onomamus struggled hard, staring at a ragged beggar with his blood-red eyes.
Around the beggars there were some people in rags and some wearing simple leather armor.
They were all part of the rebel army.
Ono was furious and racked his brains to understand why these people who had fought alongside him were now standing on the side of the enemy.
Do not……
Perhaps they had already sided with the enemy.
Oenomamus would figure this out after a while.
"Kill all the rebels, and destroy all those who supported the rebels and did not turn to the light, as well as all the cities."
"But leave Onomamus alone."
A cold command came from the sky.
A woman with white wings on her back fell from the sky.
That was a high rider.
Every thread on the woman's body was enough to buy hundreds of slaves' gorgeous clothes, and the jewels on her crown were enough to buy a country, which declared her identity.
"Traitor, traitor..." Oenomamus kept repeating the word, and then his roar turned into crying.
"Shh, shh, shh." The female high knight came to Ono, squatted down and hugged his head, and comforted him softly, "You were just hit by an oxygen-sucking bullet, and your organs are seriously lacking oxygen. Wait a minute before shouting."
"Traitor... running dog..." Ono continued to curse, his saliva and tears splashing onto the gauntlet of the tall knight who wiped the blood off his face.
Ono used his head to hit the High Knight's chest, but the attempt only caused him to be unconscious for two minutes - because the High Knight had a thin layer of energy plating on his body.
"How can I comfort you?" The high knight still hugged Ono, "I gave you a chance, Onomamus. I said that if you agreed to come back to me, I would turn your people and subordinates into your slaves and playthings, and let them play the game of uprising with you."
"Just like our relationship before."
The last sentence poured into Ono's ears like a raging flame, instantly igniting all the confusion, dissatisfaction, and hatred in his heart.
Ono wanted to curse.
The High Knight knew that he was about to curse, but those dirty words were obviously inappropriate in such a public occasion with other nobles present, so the High Knight covered Ono's mouth.
She covered it gently, using the "silent force field" integrated into the glove to prevent Ono's words from penetrating her palm.
"This is not your fault. You are too naive and too kind." The tall knight consoled him softly, "Of course you can't see that there are people with ulterior motives in your team. Even if you did, you would still want to influence them."
Ono raised his head and glared at the High Knight. His eyes were so fierce that the High Knight's guards subconsciously took a step back.
"You made too many mistakes in this uprising game."
"Why can't you understand that those who share the same fate as you don't necessarily stand with you?"
As he spoke, the tall knight turned around to look at the "traitors" behind him, sizing them up one by one.
"You are not so naive as to think that not being enslaved is more important than everyone having enough food and clothing from now on, right?"
After saying this, the tall knight set his sights on Ono again.
Her tone was gentle, but it sounded terrifying to Ono.
"Come back and stop playing this uprising game." "When you were three years old, you followed me to fight everywhere. You know my abilities and the abilities of other gods on Nuceria."
"Don't make me hurt you again."
"..."
"Get out of here!" Ono gritted his teeth, and angrily said, "I would rather go to the arena than be your slave!"
The tall knight was stunned for a moment, but his astonishment was soon replaced by a smile that said "everything is under control".
"You'd rather go to the arena than come back to me and be a slave?"
she says.
"It seems I still have to give you some small punishment, just like when we were little."
"Do you remember that your parents and sister died because of your fault? Now soon more people will die because of your fault."
She pulled out a metal tube that looked no bigger than a toothpick and had an idea.
The gravity that came from the sky instantly crushed the traitors who were scolded and rebuked by Ono.
Ono was still struggling and cursing in his heart, but he seemed to be lying on the ground and turning over. The severe pain made him twitch so much that he couldn't even utter a clear word. Tears flowed down his face like a spring, and his whole body twitched.
He felt as if someone was stabbing his heart with a knife.
Those traitors were hateful, but Ono still couldn't be completely heartless to them because they had fought alongside him, nor could he applaud their deaths.
Not to mention, these people were killed by the tall knight in front of him, which reminded Ono of the most painful and tormenting past events.
"It's not my fault," the tall knight said with a smile, "I was going to let them live like livestock, but you forced me to kill them. This is your fault."
Ono lay on the ground, holding his heart, convulsing in pain, lacking oxygen, and coughing and wheezing violently.
Slowly he closed his eyes, and when he opened them again he saw the cave and the other gladiators.
"What's wrong with you?" Angron asked.
Qin Xia also opened his eyes and looked at Ono.
"Nothing." Ono shook his head, "It was just a dream."
"You had a dream?" Angron raised his eyebrows and helped Ono up from the ground. "A dream of being killed? I felt a piercing pain from you. I only feel this way when there are dead people around me."
"Nothing." Ono smiled, "It's really nothing, just a nightmare."
Angron nodded and sat back down.
Qin Xia also closed his eyes and continued his exploration of spiritual power.
Honor glanced out the window, then at the gladiators, and saw that everyone was awake and day had arrived.
So the "old bear" wanted to ask Qin Xia about what they discussed in the dream yesterday, but this time Angron nodded to him.
Qin Xia has already talked to Angron.
It was easy enough to make Angron understand the necessity of cruelty.
Angron felt the pain of every death, but he felt the pain of those he cared about even more.
During the days in the arena, Angron felt that Qin Xia, Ono and some other people cared about him and took care of him... If the death of an ordinary person would make him feel a sudden and piercing pain in an instant, then the death of Qin Xia and the people who cared about him, was equivalent to the pain of tearing open his heart, prying open his bones and pulling out his tendons.
So Angron would make a choice, and that choice was to keep everyone he cared about alive.
"Ahem." Ono stood up, cleared his throat, and said to everyone, "I've been thinking about it all night and have an idea. Can you guys listen to it?"
Hearing this, most people had no reaction.
Kleist already knew what was going to happen.
Yochula is resting due to a broken arm.
Qin Xia also knew what would happen.
And Angron had subconsciously sensed everyone's emotions at this moment.
