Chapter 10: The Proud Curator

early morning.

The glow of the morning glow shines into the museum, illuminating the empty hall with a golden and magnificent look.

The various specimens and character models that were lively in the museum not long ago are now standing still in their respective display windows.

The garbage debris on the ground has all been cleaned up, giving it a brand new feel.

Almost all floors of the museum were silent, except for the
“E=mc2”

"Einstein!"

"answer!"

"YES!"

"Comedian, the classic line is: If I never see you again, I wish you good morning, good afternoon and good night."

"Jim Carrey!"

"answer!"

Rango made a proud face at Teddy, then continued to look at Megan who asked the question.

“The greatest No. 23 jersey in NBA history.”

"Michael Jordan!!! Oh wow!"

After answering the last question, Rango jumped up from his chair excitedly, opened his arms and looked at Teddy and said proudly: "I answered all 12 questions correctly! I am the god of word guessing game. You lose, Teddy, so prepare to wash my socks for a month!"

"Fuck!" Teddy muttered, aggrieved, "This is not fair at all. Why do you answer all the people like Jim Carrey and Jordan, but I have to answer Zhou Shuren?"

"Hey? Show some respect, man," Rango said seriously, "He is a great oriental writer!"

"OK"

Just when Teddy was dejected, Megan, who had been silent, suddenly spoke up: "Rango, you got the last question wrong. My vocabulary shows that the greatest No. 23 player is LeBron James."

"Wat? LeBron?"

Rango shook his head in astonishment and said, "It definitely can't be him. Great? He hasn't even led a team to win a championship alone!"

"That's right," even the loser Teddy agreed, "He's strong, but definitely not great. I mean, come on, he's not even as good as Kobe!"

"The guy who designed Megan must be a fan of LeBron," Rango said unhappily, "Damn the designer, he mixed in too much personal stuff!"

After being tricked by Megan, Rango lost interest in playing anymore and started discussing the topic of 1V1 between Kobe and LeBron with Teddy.

Time passed minute by minute, and soon, the revolving door of the museum was pushed open.

The curator, dressed exquisitely and well-groomed, walked in in style, leaning on a gentleman's stick.

"Well, well, well"

He first looked around carefully, then asked loudly to Rango and others at the service desk: "How was it, gentlemen? Did you sleep well last night?"

Rango smiled and stood up from his chair and replied, "Director, you're joking. Teddy and I stayed up all night, and we didn't even fall asleep or go to the bathroom a few times."

"I hope so."

The curator shrugged noncommittally, walked to the service desk, and after looking at Rango for a few times, a look of satisfaction appeared in his eyes.

The security uniform, which would have been somewhat loose for others, became tight-fitting on the sturdy Rango, outlining his perfect muscle lines.

Coupled with that handsome yet tough face, this guy is simply the perfect spokesperson for the museum!
And he only spent twenty dollars an hour on all this, and he didn't even have expensive dental insurance! Feeling that he had made a lot of money, the curator patted Rango's shoulder encouragingly, nodded to Teddy in a friendly manner, and walked straight to his office.

But as he passed Megan, he froze.

"What's going on here?" the museum director said in dissatisfaction, "Doesn't the security regulations state that you are not allowed to bring unrelated people into the museum after closing time?"

Rango explained to him according to the routine he had designed before: "Director, you misunderstood. This is my sister. She just came to bring me breakfast this morning."

"Breakfast?" The curator frowned in confusion. "Is breakfast delivered to you before dawn, such a young girl?"

"Yes, she has always been very sensible." Rango nodded seriously.

"OK"

The curator looked at Megan, who lowered her head and said nothing, with some disbelief. Fortunately, she was a little girl and not an adult woman, otherwise he would really have to doubt what Rango was doing last night.

When he was about to leave, Rango suddenly accelerated and walked in front of him, then said a little embarrassedly: "Mr. Curator, there is actually one more thing I want to tell you."

"If it's about a pay raise, then I advise you not to ask for it anymore."

The curator, leaning on his cane, said unhappily, "Twenty dollars an hour is definitely not a low wage. If you don't believe me, you can go to other places and see that the normal hourly wage for security guards is only thirteen dollars! And you've only been employed for one day and you're asking for a raise. Don't you think that's a bit excessive?"

"what?"

Rango raised his eyebrows and shook his head. "Believe me, I am very satisfied with the salary. This is not what I want to tell you. It is..."

Then he raised his hand and pointed to a group of debris in the corner, which Megan had been busy cleaning up all night.

"Wathale???"

The curator, who had originally brightened up when he heard that it was not a salary increase, was furious when he saw it and said, "I invited you to come here to guard the museum, and look what you have done!"

He was leaning on his gentleman's stick and ran to the ruins in a hurry. When he saw the pile of model wreckage, he became more and more angry and said, "These are all handmade, each one is worth thousands of dollars! What did you do to them?"

"I'm so sorry, curator," Rango explained sincerely, "I was just curious about the feel of these models, so I opened the window to take a look, and I accidentally..."

"But don't worry," he said solemnly, "I will pay you back. Just give me a number, no matter how much it is, I will definitely pay you back."

When the curator heard this, he glared at him angrily and was about to say a number.

However, when he looked through Rango's shoulder and saw the little girl at the service desk, the amount of compensation he was about to say suddenly got stuck in his mouth.

This guy probably spent a lot of money on the outfit he borrowed for the interview. Now, in order to save money, he even asked his sister to bring him food before dawn. If I ask him to pay for it again...
Wouldn't this make the situation even worse for this family which was not well-off to begin with?

The curator, who had imagined a lot of things, took a deep breath and looked at Rango, who had a sincere expression in front of him. He glared at him fiercely and turned away.

As he walked away, he shouted, "Save some money to support your sister's education! I will deduct these losses from the loss allowance. Also, get off work quickly and go home. I really don't want to see you again today!"

"."

Looking at his back, Rango, who was about to take out his checkbook, scratched his head in confusion.

Why do these people think they are poor?
Shrugging at Teddy and Megan behind him, Rango unbuttoned the top button of his collar, stretched his neck a few times, and said in a relaxed tone: "Let's go! Let's go home after get off work!"

A few minutes later, looking at the bright sky outside, Rango couldn't help but smile.

It’s time to explore the haunted house I just bought yesterday!
