Chapter 1132, Page 1083: The Scheme of the Bad Girl Machima
Chapter 1132 The 1083rd Bad Girl Machima's Plot
Peter coughed and glanced at Machima in the rearview mirror.
"That was Clark's choice. He never saw himself as an alien, but as an ordinary Earthling. He never considered himself superior to ordinary people."
Upon hearing Peter's explanation, Machima nodded thoughtfully.
After the car had traveled some distance, the scene of the accident came into view.
Several police cars and an ambulance were parked on the side of the road, their warning lights flashing.
A familiar red pickup truck veered off the road and crashed into an old oak tree in a field, severely damaging the driver's side door.
Peter quickly stopped the car and strode towards the scene.
An officer recognized him: "Mr. Patrick."
After exchanging a few pleasantries with the police officer, Peter saw Jonathan walking towards him.
"Jonathan."
Peter quickly stepped forward and asked, "Are you alright?"
Jonathan gave him a wry smile: "Peter, you got here really fast. I'm fine, but I almost died just now."
A police officer nearby explained, "An out-of-control pickup truck crashed into Mr. Kent, but miraculously, he was not injured at all."
"Miracle?"
Peter paused for a moment, looking at Jonathan with a puzzled expression.
Did Jonathan awaken some kind of superpower?
Jonathan coughed and gestured for Peter to step aside.
After confirming that no one had heard their conversation, he lowered his voice and said, "To be honest, I don't quite understand myself. The car was about to hit me when suddenly a young man pushed me away with incredible speed and saved me."
"He pushed you away?"
Peter frowned slightly. "Did you get a good look at him?"
“It was so fast I couldn’t see it,” Jonathan shook his head. “Like a gust of wind, but strangely enough, after he saved me, he also stole my wallet.”
"He also stole your wallet?"
"Yes, I only realized my wallet was missing after he left. He was so fast that I didn't have time to see him clearly; I only saw a shadow."
Jonathan scratched the back of his head. "If my wallet hadn't really disappeared, I would have thought I was hallucinating."
After a moment of contemplation, Peter reassured him, "As long as you're alright, I'll take care of the wallet."
the other side.
Machima pricked up her ears and secretly listened to their conversation, her eyes slightly narrowed, like a fox that had spotted its prey.
"A speedster?"
In the study of the Padrick Manor, sunlight streams through the stained-glass windows, casting shadows on the floor.
Peter stood in front of the desk, on which was an open star chart of the multiverse.
"Button! Button! Button!"
A soft knock sounded on the door.
"Come in, Horus."
The door was pushed open, and Horus stood in the doorway.
"You've come to see me, Father Emperor."
Horus asked him respectfully.
Peter turned around, his gaze falling on the boy, a smile appearing on his lips.
He gestured to the chair in front of the table: "Sit down, Horus."
Horus sat down as instructed, his posture upright, his hands resting flat on his knees, like a soldier being inspected.
Peter did not speak immediately, but picked up a report from the table and gently placed it in front of Horus.
The report was written by Vie, detailing some aspects of the Barbatos invasion campaign.
Although he roughly knew what happened after he left, he was still unaware of some details, so he asked Vi to help write a report that detailed all the aspects of the battle.
"You did a good job in this battle, Horus."
Peter praised him.
Horus's gaze fell on the report. "This is the result of the collective efforts of all members, Father Emperor."
Peter looked him in the eye with an encouraging look, “But they succeeded under your leadership. Without you contacting Cyborg to open the multiverse portal, I don’t know how things would have turned out.”
Horus paused slightly upon hearing Peter's words.
Peter said in a deep voice, "You have not disappointed me, Horus."
Horus raised his head, his eyes flashing with complex emotions.
"It was you who taught me, my imperial father."
Peter stood up, walked to Horus, and placed his hand on his shoulder: "I am proud of you, my son, not only for your victory, but also for your performance in the battle."
Peter was quite satisfied with Horus's performance this time.
This kid was able to team up with Cyborg, use the Eighth and Ninth Metals in a combined attack, summon reinforcements, and even take down Dark Batman. To be honest, Horus's performance this time exceeded his expectations.
Peter also felt honored.
After all, I didn't trust this kid for nothing.
Horus's eyes welled up with tears, but he quickly regained his composure and straightened his back: "To be your son is my greatest honor, Father Emperor. I swear that I will always follow your teachings and use my strength to protect you and the farm."
Peter smiled and gently patted Horus on the shoulder: "We don't need to be so polite between father and son. Alright, now I have a task for you."
"What is it, Father Emperor?"
Horus’s eyes gleamed with loyalty.
"Contact Steelbone and ask him to help investigate someone."
Peter briefly explained to him the incident involving the speedster Jonathan had encountered, saying, "We need to understand this young man's background and abilities."
Horus nodded: "I will do it immediately, Father Emperor."
Peter's gaze lingered on Horus's departing figure for a long time.
He thought of Horus, the fallen warlord from another universe, who had instigated a massive rebellion that nearly destroyed the human empire.
The boy before us, though bearing the same name, has embarked on a completely different path.
Peter now has some confidence in transforming Machima.
As evening fell, Steelbone's investigation yielded a lead.
In the study, Peter opened his laptop.
A moment later, the image of Steel Bone appeared on the screen.
"Sir, I have found the person you mentioned."
Cyborg's voice came through the speaker, "Based on comparisons of multiple surveillance videos and databases, his name is Bart, a thief who uses superpowers to steal. Interestingly, he seems to have some connection with Barry, but I'm still investigating the specifics of that relationship."
"Bart?"
Peter hesitated for a moment, then thanked Cyborg: "Thank you, Victor. Could you send me his activity area?"
"It has been sent to your terminal, but sir, you must be careful, this Bart may be as fast as Barry."
"I know, thank you."
After the call ended, Peter thought for a moment, then dialed Clark's number.
"Clark, where are you?"
Now that I've become a local farm owner, I naturally delegate errands to others.
The metropolis is ablaze with neon lights at night.
Based on the information provided by his godfather, Clark found Bart outside a convenience store.
The young man, who looked no more than a teenager, was wearing an old red jacket and leisurely eating a hot dog. "Bart?"
Clark approached him and asked.
Bart looked up and asked in confusion, "You know me?"
"Yes, you stole a gentleman's wallet, and that man was my father."
Clark spoke to him calmly.
"The person who almost got into a car accident?"
Bart shrugged nonchalantly. "I saved his life, so it's not unreasonable for me to take some compensation, is it?"
Clark frowned. "Saving lives doesn't require payment. Bart, give me back my wallet, and we can have a proper talk."
Bart suddenly stood up, a sly glint in his eyes: "Catch up with me first."
Before he finished speaking, Bart transformed into a red lightning bolt and vanished from the street corner in an instant.
Clark paused for a moment after seeing the other party escape, then immediately took off in pursuit.
To his surprise, even when he ran at full speed, he did not shorten the distance between himself and Bart.
"Whoosh!"
"Whoosh!"
The two chased each other throughout the entire metropolis.
Bart can not only run on land, but also speed across water.
Seeing Bart speeding across the water, Clark became interested in a competition and activated his super speed to chase after him.
After a chase, Clark finally overtook his opponent.
Bart was stunned to see that Clark had managed to catch up with him.
He stopped and stared at Clark in shock. "Dude, who exactly are you?"
"It doesn't matter who I am."
Clark became intensely curious about this speedster, just like Barry. "Why are you so obsessed with that wallet?"
Bart tilted his head: "Why not use it? God gave us abilities so that we could use them, right? I haven't hurt anyone."
"Stealing is harm, Bart."
Clark tried to persuade him.
"Come on," Bart scoffed. "Those big corporations steal money from ordinary people every day, why don't you do anything about it? I'm just making a little money to get by."
Clark shook his head: "That's not a reason. You have the ability to do so much more good."
"To be a hero like Superman, Batman, or Homelander?"
Bart laughed, "Although I admire them for saving the world not long ago and I heard they even defeated some kind of dragon, being bound by rules and bossed around all day... no, thank you, I'd rather live freely. If you want this wallet, then keep chasing me."
"Whoosh!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than Bart activated his super speed once more.
Clark had no choice but to continue chasing after them.
Another chase began, this time with Bart deliberately leading Clark through crowded shopping malls, construction sites, and subway tunnels.
He was clearly enjoying the chase.
Clark noticed that although Bart was extremely fast, his route always avoided densely populated areas, seemingly trying to avoid harming innocent people.
Finally, in an abandoned factory, Bart stopped.
He exhaled, turned around, took Jonathan's wallet out of his pocket, and tossed it to Clark.
"Alright, you win. Take it. There's not much money in it anyway."
Bart leaned against the wall, his breathing not even becoming rapid. "But I must say, it's really exciting to race with you. How about considering my proposal? We can team up and definitely conquer the world."
Clark took the wallet and shook his head. "Your abilities are a gift, Bart, and shouldn't be wasted on something like this."
"Also, I can't team up with you. I'm a member of the Patrick Alliance."
Clark said in a very serious tone.
When Bart heard "Padrick," he paused for a moment, then smiled, waved, and disappeared into the air as a bolt of lightning.
Seeing the other person's figure disappear, Clark did not continue to chase after him, but instead took out his phone and contacted Peter.
With the wallet in hand, let the godfather worry about what to do with this young man named Bart.
Clark also wanted to slack off in this area.
“Hello, Godfather, this is Clark.”
At the Padrick Manor, Machima hid in the corner of the second-floor corridor and overheard Peter and Clark's entire phone call.
Machima's eyes lit up when she heard Clark's description of Bart.
"The Speedster."
Machima murmured to herself, a smile playing on her lips.
She quietly returned to her room, locked the door, and then took a notebook from under the bed.
This is the "resource book" she just bought today, which records various information and people that she thinks might be useful.
Turning to a new page, she wrote:
Target: Speedster Bart
Ability: Extreme speed (possibly exceeding the known fastest man, Barry Allen)
Machima stopped writing and thought for a while.
In this dangerous world, she needs her own tools, her own pawns.
Those with abilities like Batou, who were not fully recruited by the hero faction, are ideal targets.
Machima chewed on the pen cap, recalling her conversation with her father last night.
The father believed that love and understanding could change people's hearts, but Machima had her own way of doing things.
Bart's behavior of saving Jonathan but stealing his wallet shows that he is a capable person with his own set of moral principles.
"The first step is contact."
Machima wrote in her notebook, “We need to create a ‘chance’ encounter.”
She began to develop a detailed plan.
First, she needs to understand Bart's activity patterns.
The information that Steelbone sent to his father should still be on the terminal in the study.
Secondly, she needs to find a suitable reason to go out alone.
Perhaps I could ask to go to the library to read a book; that's a reason Dad wouldn't refuse.
Most importantly, she needed a way to pique Bart's interest in her and make him willing to establish a connection with her.
Machima pondered her strengths: she appeared to be a harmless little girl, making it easy for people to lower their guard.
Putting down her pen, Machima looked up at the stars in the night sky.
In this world filled with superpowered beings, gods, and demons, a demon must have its own leverage to dominate.
Although I love my father, I can't conquer him with my "love" right now, so I can only come up with a tool.
Bart was the first important piece she set her sights on.
The sound of Peter and Clark saying goodbye could be heard downstairs.
Machima quickly put away her notebook and lay down on the bed, pretending to sleep.
She heard Peter's footsteps coming up the stairs, pausing briefly at her door before continuing toward his bedroom.
After the footsteps faded away, Machima opened her eyes.
