Chapter 15 My people, are you someone you can kill as you please?
Shen Luo returned from the side and whispered the situation to Shang Xingjian: General Meng An is here, less than a kilometer away, and is currently being held back.

"Isn't Maimai coming with me?" Long Xu asked.

"I have something to do, I'll be back in a bit, you go ahead." Cheng Mai made up a reason casually.

"Our homes aren't even in the same direction, what's the point of being together? If I tell you to leave, then leave now," Shang Xingjian said disdainfully.

Long Xu blinked. "Why is brother suddenly angry?"

Shang Xingjian hissed and was kicked by Cheng Mai again.

The assistant ran over from a distance and greeted Cheng Mai, "Xuxu, the weather forecast says there will be a heavy rain tonight, and it's about to start. The director wants us to go back first; we won't be filming today."

"Replace who?"

General Meng An continued forward, even as Shang Xingjian's oppressive aura pressed down on him. He did not give up. "I want her dead."

General Meng An spoke slowly and deliberately, his armor cracking, but he didn't seem to care.

"You think you can just kill my people whenever you want?" Shang Xingjian gathered power in his palm, watching Meng An approach.

Shen Luo pulled Cheng Mai back a step, watching as Shang Xingjian pushed General Meng An ten meters away with a single palm strike. The massive body slammed to the ground, causing an earthquake and damaging a bamboo forest.

Meng An stood up straight, drew the rusty sword from his back, and said, "I want her dead."

He was incredibly fast, yet he couldn't touch Cheng Mai, because Shang Xingjian had taken control of the sword in his hand.

Meng An's face gradually contorted with pain, yet he refused to give up pointing his sword at Cheng Mai.

"Shang Xingjian." Seeing General Meng An's growing pains, Cheng Mai suddenly pressed down on Shang Xingjian's wrist. "Don't kill him."

As she spoke, she looked at General Meng An, "General Meng An, wasn't it you who took away my mother's ashes?"

Meng An was slow to react, but it was clear that he had taken those words to heart.

"Chongchong, go." Shen Luo called to Chongchong, instructing it to trace back what had recently happened in Meng'an.

The insect immediately transformed into its original form and flew into Meng An's forehead while he was reacting.

"Kill you." Meng An's neck suddenly stiffened, and his left hand struck out fiercely.

As the sword flashed, the moment Shang Xing simply pressed Cheng Mai to his chest, Meng An's left hand crashed to the ground.

Meng An felt no pain, but was enraged by the person in front of him. He instantly erupted, but was suppressed by Shang Xingjian with runes and could not move an inch.

"Shen Luo, take him back." Shang Xingjian still pressed down on the back of Cheng Mai's head, preventing her from seeing the fallen arm in front of her.

Meng An roared as he tried to kill Cheng Mai, but Shang Xingjian's cultivation level suppressed him so much that he couldn't move.

After everyone left, Cheng Mai nudged Shang Xingjian's chest, "Hey, aren't you going to let go of me?"

Shang Xingjian seemed to have just realized what was happening and pushed Cheng Mai away without any gentleness.

"He's a nutcase with a huge addiction, what are you doing coming up here? Aren't you afraid he'll actually chop you up with a knife?"

"If anyone's going to be attacked, it'll be me. What are you worried about?" Cheng Mai knew he meant well, but he couldn't help but retort.

Cheng Mai quickened her pace to catch up with Shang Xingjian, and only after getting into the car did Shang Xingjian remove the rain-avoidance talisman from her body.
