My brother is so cunning

Chapter 1006 Lots of doubts
Venerable Kasyapa frowned and nodded, saying, "If Wen Rui were just an ordinary cultivator, or even a Heavenly Venerable without any foundation, the Buddha's judgment would be enough to convict him with irrefutable evidence. But alas, he..."
At this point, Kasyapa suddenly realized, "That's right. When the extraterrestrial demons invaded the prehistoric world, they must have planned it all along and made very deep calculations. They deliberately chose the offspring of the person from the Jie Sect who was to be afflicted during the Great Tribulation of the Gods, which was equivalent to giving themselves a layer of protection."
"That's right! When evil spirits infiltrate the new world to carry out acts of destruction, they will cleverly disguise themselves, and by the time people of the present realize it, it will be too late."
The Buddha nodded and said, "Now Wen Rui's cultivation has grown to an unbelievable level. He has deceived Heaven and Earth, fooled the Heavenly Dao, and obtained the position of Heavenly Venerable. With the blessing of the Heavenly Dao, he is even more powerful."
Venerable Kasyapa's face turned ashen as he said, "No wonder he used the pretext of eradicating demonic insects to create puppets on a large scale. Those puppets with unreasonable martial arts levels are not meant to fight demonic insects! They must be demonic puppets to help him destroy the world!"
"This disciple was utterly foolish, actually thinking of abandoning the wealth accumulated by our sect over the years to use the demon puppet to quell the demonic calamity. I almost fell for his evil trick!"
The master and apprentice, speaking back and forth, managed to sketch out just the tip of the iceberg of Wen Rui's wolfish ambitions. However, their deductions, predictions, and judgments were not very close to the truth.
Whether it's the truth or not is no longer important. What's important is that everything is connected and logically consistent. Even if Wen Rui jumped into the Milky Way, he couldn't clear his name. It's impossible for him to prove his innocence.
However, it is difficult for Wen Rui to prove himself, and it is even more difficult for Buddha to testify. It all depends on one's own judgment. The case is brought to the Dao Ancestor Hongjun, which is a world-class Rashomon-like situation.
"That's right!" Venerable Kasyapa suddenly remembered something and said with delight, "You just mentioned that the lecherous little demon among the two extraterrestrial demons who had contact with Wen Rui left behind a demonic seed in the primordial world?"
"If we simply capture the descendant of the Heavenly Demon and present him to the three Taoist sages, wouldn't Wen Rui's entire pretense fall apart on its own?"
Tathagata slowly shook his head and said, "If you can think of it, how could I ignore it? I sent people to capture the demon seed long ago, but upon investigation, it was found that although the demon seed had half demon blood, the other half was human blood, and that human blood was more similar to the Western race of my religion, rather than the Eastern race of the Southern Continent."
"Apart from that, the demon seed left behind by the demon is nothing special. If I use that demon seed as evidence, it would be more like framing someone."
"What? The demonic seed left behind by the Heavenly Demon actually has human blood?"
Venerable Kasyapa asked incredulously, "Are you sure you didn't arrest the wrong person? If they are of the extraterrestrial demon race, there should be some differences, right?"
"That demonic seed is exceptionally intelligent..."
The Buddha said with a somewhat strange expression, “I originally intended to use Buddhist scriptures to influence the demon seed and also to test whether the demon seed would develop a rejection of our sacred scriptures. As a result, the demon seed displayed extraordinary wisdom, could remember the scriptures after reading them once, and had outstanding comprehension. In just a few years of studying, it reached the level of a great Zen master, easily surpassing countless old monks who had spent their entire lives studying scriptures.”
"What?" Venerable Kasyapa exclaimed in shock again, "That is the wisdom of a demon! We must never let that demonic seed comprehend the Dharma again, otherwise, if a demon is planted in the heart of a Buddha, it will fulfill the prophecy of Mara, the Demon King!"
"I had the same concern, but by using my other-minded perception to observe the demonic seed, I discovered that it was timid and gentle by nature, not like a naturally evil being..."
For once, the Buddha showed a look of bewilderment. When it came to the accuracy of observing people in the Three Realms, none surpassed the Buddha; with a single glance, his Buddha-eye could see through the true nature of human hearts. However, the half-human, half-demon hybrid left behind by the Heavenly Demon in the primordial world greatly exceeded the Buddha's expectations.
From its physical form to its soul, there is not a trace of evil about it.
However, the innate intelligence of that demonic seed is far beyond what ordinary beings born in the primordial world could achieve.
If it weren't for the fact that the demonic seed was left behind by an extraterrestrial demon, Buddha would have wanted to take him as his eleventh disciple. With his unparalleled wisdom and talent, his future achievements would certainly not be inferior to his ten senior brothers.
"The best course of action now is to reach Kunlun Mountain and go to the Jade Void Palace to meet with the Primordial Celestial Venerable and seek his support."
The Buddha said with great concern, "The Tongtian Sect Leader would never believe the conclusion I calculated using my knowledge of destiny. Back then, during the Investiture of the Gods, even though the Dao Ancestor Hongjun had already made his decision, he did not follow it. How can I, a Venerable One of the Western Sect, gain his trust?"
"Wen Rui's disguise was excellent. In the past hundred years, the Jie Sect has restored its former glory of having ten thousand immortals pay homage. The number of formal and informal followers has exceeded one million. The Tongtian Sect Master regarded him as the Jie Sect's number one loyal disciple, favored him greatly, and intended to pass on his mantle to him, making him the new leader of the Jie Sect."
"Even Laozi would find it difficult to win him over."
The Buddha frowned and said, “Although Wen Rui upholds the teachings of the Jie Sect and advocates educating all beings, treating everyone equally regardless of race or origin, the human race has also benefited immensely from his teachings. The human autonomous region he established is a model of human order, where the people live in peace and prosperity, with the elderly cared for and the young supported. There is no greater world than this.”
"Not to mention the long-extinct Shang Dynasty, even the Zhou Dynasty and all its vassal states combined are far inferior."
"Humanity has already experienced such a high level of governance, and the standards of happiness and sense of fulfillment have been greatly improved. If the ruling order established by Wen Rui is overthrown and replaced with other systems, I'm afraid it will be difficult to reassure the people."
“If Wen Rui is disturbed, the mortal realm will be thrown into chaos, and the turmoil will last for who knows how many years. I fear that an entire generation will die, and only a new generation of humans who have never experienced a peaceful world will be able to settle their minds and be satisfied with the ruler. This is not the outcome that Laozi would like to see.”
Venerable Kasyapa nodded slowly, seemingly lost in thought, and said, "Buddha, you are wise. Only the Chan Sect, which values lineage, would firmly oppose Wen Rui's idea that all beings can be educated, and would judge him as inherently evil because he is a reincarnation of a demonic soul from beyond the realm."
"However, the Dao Ancestor Hongjun had already decreed that disciples of the Chan and Jie sects were strictly forbidden from fighting among themselves, so the Primordial Heavenly Venerable probably couldn't intervene."
The Buddha smiled wryly and said, "In the end, it's still because the evidence is insufficient. It's hard to convince the sage based solely on my oral account of the doubts I gleaned through my supernatural powers, and it's impossible to bring down the already powerful Heavenly Demon."
"Kasyapa, I am speaking to you privately because I need your help to destroy the Heavenly Demon. I need to stay at Mount Sumeru and cannot travel to the mortal realm. Please go to the mortal realm to investigate carefully and search for clues that point to Wen Rui."
The Buddha solemnly instructed, "He has been operating in the mortal realm for many years and has built a great foundation. Even the most meticulous plans can have flaws, and he will surely leave some clues. As long as we find irrefutable evidence, I can persuade the Primordial Heavenly Lord to come out of seclusion."
