Overlord: Start from the Goblin Lair.

Chapter 432: The Solidified Battle

Ron and the others had been to the Underdark, but they did so through a teleportation array. Seymour, a local, was not here, so Gillianis was naturally the authority.

Dismissing the thought of facing dark elves, fungus people, underground gnomes and the like, Ron and the others followed the barbarians and slowly walked down the stairs, following Victoria's instructions to find the door to the next floor.

Everything here is made of metal, cold and ruthless, but it has been preserved to this day and can still function normally today.

"It's really hard to imagine that those creatures would spend so much effort on this, but let their lifeline be damaged so easily," Ivy muttered while waiting for Ron to open the door. "I'm a little suspicious, maybe it's not a natural disaster but a man-made disaster?"

"When our Lord Earl came here, there was already red mold here, so of course there were also spore people. Could it be that these creatures had dealt with the spore people earlier than this?"

"Do you think they will be wiped out by those spore people who can't even speak properly?" Sylvia looked at the half-elf in disbelief. "I think it's more reliable that Rose City might be destroyed by the Ochre Tribe!"

"Hey! Do you have any opinion about me?" Sera protested. "I'm not bragging. Although our tribe doesn't do this, in the past, many tribes that were much weaker than us would ride on wooden canoes and follow the coast that had not yet completely thawed to plunder the south when they were short of food in the early spring!"

"I heard they burned down quite a few towns! They squandered the spoils they brought back until the early spring of the following year!"

"And then?" Driver loved to hear this, and asked quickly, "Damn, I also wanted to live like this before!"

"And? It's early spring again," Sera blinked and suddenly burst into laughter, "They haven't hunted any prey all year, and they don't have any food in stock, so of course they can only continue to rob!"

"If you can combine the two, life should be much easier," Gillianis said calmly, "Of course, there is still nothing you can do in the face of natural disasters that affect the entire world."

"Is the tribe you are talking about Monckton?" Ivy glanced at Sera. "I've heard of them. They are quite famous. It is said that Yungang has erected a bronze statue of their leader, which is a one-to-one replica."

"Bronze statue? I really don't know why." This time it was Sera's turn to be confused. She was indeed talking about the Monckton tribe, but their leader had never mentioned this matter.

This doesn't seem like that guy's aggressive style.

"Not now, but decades ago. It might have been the previous leader," Ivy explained. "It is said that it was because several tribes jointly invaded Yungang at that time. He was merciful and insisted on withdrawing the team from Yungang and turning to Weir Bay on the other side."

"Vill Bay?" Sera was even more confused. "I've never heard of Vill Bay. Monckton also invited me and asked me to choose a place I liked. Although I didn't go there, I didn't hear him mention this place either."

"That's right, you haven't heard of it, because Weir Bay is gone," Ivy said casually as she watched Ron open the portal with a high delay, "It's been gone since then."

"Ivy has her own stories, but she never tells us any," Ron smiled and turned around. As the door behind him slowly opened, he bowed and made a "please" gesture. "Maybe after we go back, you can tell us about your past adventures on behalf of Sera?" Ron was smiling, but he soon discovered that his companions did not seem to intend to maintain a similar expression as him: their expressions were full of surprise and fear, and they looked up at the height behind Ron, behind the door.

Are there enemies?
Ron didn't feel anything wrong, and his companions didn't make any move to escape or fight, they just stood there and watched.

"Is there something behind me?" Ron raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, and they are very big." Ivy swallowed and pointed behind Ron, "Two."

"What is it?"

"You can see for yourself. I can't say for sure."

Ron, not understanding what was going on, slowly turned around, facing the world behind the gate with the awareness that an enemy might suddenly appear before him. Then, when his sight shifted uncontrollably upwards, he showed the same expression as his companions.

"Ernest (this is the only god he is familiar with in this world)."

The bodies of those vegetative people were not much taller than humans, but their buildings were generally too grand. The rooms were twenty meters high from the ground to the ceiling. Ron thought this was their unique aesthetic, but now he realized that there was practical significance in it.

Because in his sight, a terrifying creature like a giant, twenty meters tall, with obvious wooden structures all over its body, was standing in front of him!
Like the creatures above, it had long been dead, but unlike them, this god-like being did not choose to lie quietly in the cabin that matched its size, but walked out and stood in the center of the room. His empty eye sockets seemed to be still wide open before his death, staring at the front of him, his dry and even petrified arms waving in the air, one hand holding a large infusion tube, the other hand seemed to have held a spear or halberd, he stepped forward, as if to stab the huge and deadly weapon into the heart of an invisible enemy!
Ron noticed that his body was not balanced, but he still stood there like a statue. This was not a supernatural phenomenon, because on his body, a cluster of thick, semi-petrified tubular structures extended from the surface of this plant giant and led to the body of another giant in front of him. The two bodies formed a delicate balance, which prevented the giant from falling into the dust.

But when they were alive, they certainly didn't have such a harmonious relationship.

"If this is a thorn beast, it is a little too big."

Ron looked at the corpse of the four-legged creature that supported the colossus after its death. It looked much larger than the remains of the old green dragon they had seen before, and looked like a dog and a bear. It messed up the cabins under its feet, raised its head and roared, as if it wanted to devour the powerful creature in front of it.

It did so, and it succeeded.

Because when Ron re-examined the entire scene, he found that he had a preconceived notion: those semi-petrified tubular structures were not extended from the giant's body, but were "limbs" extended from the four-legged monster! These structures clung to the giant's body, devouring his life and turning into nutrients for the monster itself! (End of this chapter)
