Overlord: Start from the Goblin Lair.

Chapter 10: Half-Elf of Rose City

Chapter 10: Half-Elf of Rose City

"Adventurers?" The Inquisitor looked at the three ragged guys in front of him and was not too surprised.

"You don't look like them - don't rush to refute me. I've seen a lot of people like that, both true adventurers and those who just fish in troubled waters."

"Where's your equipment?"

"It was taken away by the goblins." Ivy coughed twice and reached out to push Ron aside. Now was her chance to show off.

"Well... I guess you need to buy a new set," the Inquisitor continued to question while writing down on paper with a quill pen dipped in ink, "So, did you go to fight the goblins?"

"From what I've heard, the village over there is often harassed by goblins. Who entrusted you with this task?"

"We weren't going to fight the goblins, we were just passing through there." Ivy spoke very smoothly without any pause. Ron guessed that this was her own experience.

"We set out from Rose City to escort a merchant to Yungang. He is in the spice business."

The examiner nodded and motioned for Ivy to continue.

"But when we passed through the goblin territory over there, we were ambushed. The merchant was shot dead on the spot, and my companions and I were captured one after another. We escaped with great difficulty and ran all the way here."

"That's a good story," the Inquisitor smiled, "but if that's all, I can only ban you from entering - there are many bards in the tavern, and we don't really need people who can make up stories right now."

"But you definitely need professional adventurers," Ivy simply sat down on the table and pointed at the record book on the table, "Write, Rose City Adventurer Numbers, C7211, C7213, C7216."

"Then take it to your Adventurer's Guild - if there is a guild in your remote little place, they will tell you whether I am the one."

"You?" The Inquisitor was stunned for a moment, his eyes wandering over the seductive curves behind Ivy's body for a while, then he raised his head and looked at the half-elf, "Are you really from Rose City?"

That was a famous spice trade center on the mainland, and even many of the refugees had heard of that place. And Yungang was one of the important ports on the west coast of the mainland, and it was also very famous.

That's why he didn't believe Ivy's words at first - these two places are so famous that anyone can talk about their characteristics or stories.

"I was born in Fiandric, a small elf town. When I was three years old, my father took me and my mother to Rose City," Ivy talked freely, "So I am not only from Rose City, but also a local of Rose City. There is a tavern called Night Breeze in Rose City that is quite famous. My father named it after my mother's last name."

"As you know, many spices are used as flavoring agents, so that's how I met the spice merchant - any other questions?"

"Uh... yes, there are some routine procedures." The examiner's forehead began to sweat. He really didn't expect that there was a "big shot" mixed in with this group of refugees.

Frome is just a remote town, and the master of Rose City is undoubtedly the master, even if the other party may be just the daughter of a tavern owner.

They make money, so I’m afraid they even charge gold coins for a glass of water!

"I am sure you and your companions can enter, but I must register a few of you. This is my duty. Please cooperate."

"Of course." Ivy jumped off the table and smiled at the other party. "Ivy de Capellen, thirty-seven years old, adventurer, half-elf warrior."

"My name is Driver!" the goblin hunter shouted, "Driverdo, eighteen years old, adventurer, ground--uuuuu!" "ground?" The Inquisitor was stunned for a moment, then raised his head and saw Ron and Ivy covering the goblin's big mouth with their hands.

"Seminal Dwarf!" Ivy said quickly, "Yes, seminal gnome! Wanderer!"

(Note: In order to adapt to the Chinese pronunciation, it is called underground dwarf, and the English is Goblin-Goliath)
The Inquisitor looked at these three strange adventurers suspiciously, but finally chose to believe Ivy, and only muttered quietly during the registration:
"Eighteen years old, isn't that a little too young..."

After all, deep gnomes generally reach adulthood at the age of twenty-five, goliaths at twenty, and goblins at eight. This human judge had reason to be suspicious.

"The last one. What about you, my fellow human?"

Ron thought for a moment and said, "Just write Ron, 25 years old. Pharmacist."

"Not an alchemist?" the Inquisitor asked curiously. "My friend, you don't have to hide yourself like this. The mayor of Fromm is also a human being, and we are in urgent need of talents like you. If you say you are an alchemist, I can introduce you to someone else."

"Thank you for your kindness, but it's a bit inconvenient for me, so forget it." Ron smiled and shook his head, politely declining the other party's generous and kind offer.

As for why it was "inconvenient", let them imagine it, only Ron himself knew the real reason.

In his previous life, he could hold his head high and say that he was a professional, but in this world, he was just a pure copper bar.

God knows how much magic is mixed into the "alchemy" of this world! Maybe the Philosopher's Stone and other things are real!

If I rashly boast that I am an alchemist, wouldn't I be exposed when the time comes to put my skills into practice?

"I always thought you were really an alchemist," Ivy whispered in Ron's ear after the examiner at the door completed the registration and allowed the three people to enter the town, "Are you really not?"

"If I really did, would I need to apply the mud on you?" Ron smiled bitterly. "But I do have this idea. I want to learn some alchemy to enrich myself."

"That's easy!" Ivy smiled and patted Ron's shoulder. "Once we're done here, I'll take you back to Rose City. There are many alchemy masters there!"

"Then I'll have to trouble you to introduce me to something," Ron laughed, "but now let's go find some real alchemical potions."

The streets of Flåm were clearly carefully planned by knowledgeable people. They were simple but not simplistic. Walking along the main road, Ron and his companions easily found almost every store they needed to visit: shops, taverns, hotels, and even the Adventurer's Guild. Everything was so conspicuous.

"The original city owner and designer here are definitely not ordinary people," Ivy looked around in amazement at this town she had never heard of before, "And did you hear what the old man said last night? They even built canals to prevent drought in advance."

"I think we need to meet the current mayor here... Hey Ron, where are you going?"

Ron's figure had already appeared at the door of a store, and Driver followed closely.

"To buy you a healing potion, of course!"
