Chapter 641 An Invitation!
Chen Feng?

Yu Zhizhi was slightly surprised. She remembered him as a member of Chen Feng's Mucheng Squad. So, the man in front of her was Chen Feng's captain, Zhou Mucheng?

She slowly tightened her grip on the dark blue teacup in front of her. "You just said, Don Locke... what happened to him?"

Zhou Mucheng: "He's leaving, isn't he?"

The man's tone was flat, as if he were talking about something mundane, skipping over the cause and effect, not guessing, but confirming.

Yu Zhizhi was tense all over. She didn't know how much the man in front of her knew, and she didn't dare to speak for fear of letting something slip.

She just stared at him blankly.

until.

The noodle shop owner brought in a steaming bowl of noodles.

"Miss Zhizhi, please enjoy your meal."

The steam from the bowl of noodles quickly blurred my vision.

Yu Zhizhi picked up the wooden chopsticks, lowered her head, and took a small bite.

Zhou Mucheng pushed his phone in front of her; the lit screen displayed what appeared to be a contract: "Come join my team; these are my terms."

He extended a formal invitation.

The noodles were a little hot, but even tastier than I expected. I heard the owner used to be a chef at state banquets and had won many international awards. Later, he returned to his hometown and opened a small noodle shop at the foot of Qingcheng Mountain, a place blessed with spiritual energy.

Yu Zhizhi never expected that he actually wanted to invite her to join his team.

She had heard some news about Zhou Mucheng and her team from Qin Yin.

I know they are very powerful and have a strong background.

It's a team that countless superhumans would fight tooth and nail to join.

Yu Zhizhi never expected that Zhou Mucheng would invite her.

She looked at the contract on her phone screen; the terms, from room and board to salary and resources, were astonishingly good.

Zhou Mucheng wasn't in a hurry for an answer.

He remained seated, his back and the back of the chair maintaining a restrained distance of a hand's width. His left arm rested on the edge of the table, his fingertips casually tapping the surface. Every movement exuded a deep-seated sense of control.

Yu Zhizhi continued eating her noodles.

She felt as if her heart was suspended in mid-air, pounding wildly.

You can tell what a man should know just by looking at the questions he asks.

He was certain that Don Locke would leave!
Tang...

He's definitely going back to Beast Planet.

Yu Zhizhi had also thought about what she would do after Tang left. It wouldn't work for her to be alone in the team; she would most likely have to join another team.

Nightingale's squad, or Lin Xingchen's squad.

Or perhaps something else...

These things seem to depend on a bit of fate.

Hot soup and noodles made Yu Zhizhi sweat from her nose as she ate. She took out a tissue and gently wiped her nose.

"Can...can I think about it?" she asked softly.

Zhou Mucheng's gaze remained fixed on her porcelain-white face, glistening with sweat like a small lotus flower in the dew. Her slightly parted lips gently bit off a piece of white dough. Her dark eyes were half-hidden by the heat mist, occasionally flashing with hesitation and daze, before she furrowed her brow in thought. Her serious expression resembled someone taking a college entrance exam.

“Okay.” Zhou Mucheng’s tone remained unchanged. “Give me your answer before the assessment ends.”

So fast?

Yu Zhizhi was startled.

There are only two days left until the end of the assessment!
She had to admit that Zhou Mucheng's offer was very tempting. Most importantly, joining his team would grant direct entry into the Central City, eliminating the need to worry about her performance in this assessment…

Yu Zhizhi gripped her chopsticks tightly, her face full of conflict. She nodded stiffly, "Okay."

Let her think about it some more.

Think again.

After finishing her noodles and even drinking all the soup, Yu Zhizhi realized that the man sitting opposite her hadn't ordered anything, and even the tea in front of him had gone cold.

...Wasn't he here to eat?

Yu Zhizhi took the last sip of tea, then stood up. "I'll head back now, Mr. Zhou. Goodbye." Zhou Mucheng: "Mm."

Yu Zhizhi fled the private room as if she were escaping.

She hurried downstairs and saw the noodle shop owner greeting customers. When their eyes met, she smiled slightly.

So delicious.

This is the noodle shop.

She went to the bar and asked if she could get two portions to go—one for Don Locke and one for Little Octopus.

got rejected.

The girl at the counter stuck out her tongue: "Our boss said that noodles taste best when eaten fresh! If you take them home, the texture won't be as good, and it will ruin our reputation!"

That's a bit of a shame.

But Yu Zhizhi expressed her understanding.

She stepped out of the noodle shop and found it was raining.

The daytime was so sunny, but a cold drizzle began to fall at night. She hadn't brought an umbrella with her, and for a moment she didn't know whether to brave the rain and go back.
Just as I was hesitating, I heard footsteps behind me.

Zhou Mucheng handed her a black umbrella.

Yu Zhizhi was stunned for a moment.

"Lend it to me? What about you then?"

Zhou Mucheng: "I have other things to do, I won't go back."

Yu Zhizhi did not refuse.

She took the black umbrella.

Thank you. I will pay you back.

She opened the umbrella; it was thick and of good quality, completely blocking out the wind and rain.

As Yu Zhizhi walked down the steps, she couldn't help but turn back and glance at the man at the entrance of the noodle shop.

He still stood in the dim light of the noodle shop, his black clothes almost blending into the deep alley behind him, only his figure was clearly outlined by the light.

Amidst the pervasive mist and hurried pedestrians, his gaze pierced through the continuous rain curtain and landed on her. It was deeper and colder than the rain, yet it carried a strange focus, like a silent anchor, briefly fixing her in this damp winter night.

Yu Zhizhi realized her lapse in composure. Her rabbit ears trembled slightly, and she quickly turned her head and strode into the night.

Suddenly, it was as if she stepped into thin air, and her body fell forward abruptly!

A spiritual force flew directly from afar and caught her body steadily. In the midst of the dizziness, her eardrums hurt slightly from the wind, and the black umbrella was torn and flipped backward. The person who caught her had the scent she liked.

"Tang, you're back!" Yu Zhizhi looked up, her eyes bright.

Tang Luoke was caught in the rain, his hair slightly damp. He reached out and straightened the black umbrella: "Hmm, are you alright? Is anything bothering you?"

Yu Zhizhi shook her head.

She thought of Zhou Mucheng.

He then simply recounted the story of the noodle shop.

Tang Luke's bloodshot eyes remained calm: "We'll see. My departure date hasn't been set yet."

"I wanted you to confirm before giving him an answer. But he said he needed an answer before the assessment was over."

Yu Zhizhi naturally straddled Tang Luoke's arm, only then did she realize that a large-scale war had broken out in the distance!

"W-What's going on?!" She stared in astonishment as the superhumans rushed off in that direction.

Tang Locke: "The Demon Seeds have invaded."

Isn't this Mount Qingcheng? A place where people with superpowers gather!

It's been invaded by demonic beings?!
Yu Zhizhi was a little tired, and the location of the invasion was right downstairs from where the superhuman was staying.

The little octopus that was sleeping at home also took advantage of the chaos to escape.

First, it met Rabbit's brother and followed him without saying a word. Then, together they reunited with Rabbit!

 See you tomorrow!
