Chapter 52 Paying murder to kill someone

Gu Xijue stopped in the corridor and turned to look at Su Ruoya, who had chased after him.

She stopped in her tracks. After being stared at by those silent eyes for half a minute, she felt a slight chill run down her spine. Her eyes darted around, and she forced a smile: "Xi Jue, you haven't eaten yet, have you?"

Gu Xijue looked at her calmly: "Ruoya, don't come to the hospital anymore."

His expression remained unchanged, and his eyes were frighteningly dark as he stared at her without any emotion.

Su Ruoya's eyes looked somewhat innocent as she raised the corners of her lips and asked, "Xi Jue, what do you mean by this?"

"Do you also think I disturbed Miss Song's rest? But I really came because of my aunt's request, otherwise I wouldn't have come." Su Ruoya's eyes were full of innocent frustration, and her face showed more sadness and hurt from being misunderstood.

But Gu Xijue was not as agreeable as usual this time. Instead, he said, "You have influenced her."

"Ruoya, I even feel that some things that happened between you and her are too coincidental, aren't they?"

Upon hearing Gu Xijue's words, Su Ruoya's heart skipped a beat, her innocent eyes looked even more innocent, and the smile she had on her face vanished.

"West Finals, are you doubting me?"

"You suspect I hurt Miss Song." She said this with some anger, her nails almost digging into her fingers: "But every time I touch her, I get hurt. It's her who hurts me, not me who hurts her!"

"If you're going to criticize me on behalf of your wife, I'm sorry, I won't accept it."

Su Ruoya's eyes flickered slightly, her body trembled with anger, and large tears fell down her cheeks.

Gu Xijue looked at her and said, "The driver who died in the car accident had an extra five million in his account. It was transferred from abroad to China. Police at home and abroad have begun a joint investigation."

Upon hearing his words, Su Ruoya's face was filled with disappointment, and her voice trembled: "So, you suspect that I hired someone to kill you, right?"

She wiped away her tears and spoke excitedly, calling him by his full name: "Gu Xijue, I think you've gone mad!"

"Why would I make such a huge sacrifice for a mute person? And even bribe the driver to stage a fake car accident? Why would I do such a thing!" She patted her chest excitedly, "Me, the youngest opera singer, would I really ruin my career and go to jail for my ex-boyfriend's wife? Does Song Jin'an really deserve it?!"

Every word Su Ruoya said hit the nail on the head.

Gu Xijue pursed his lips. Indeed, according to common sense, Su Ruoya would never do such a thing. A few years ago, she was willing to give up marriage with him for the sake of her career, so it was even less likely that she would ruin her career for Song Jin'an, who was of little importance.

He calmed himself down and thought about it. Indeed, the matter had not yet been resolved, and he shouldn't put the blame on Su Ruoya first.

However, he still felt that Su Ruoya in front of him seemed to have changed.

Gu Xijue slowly said, "Let's wait for the police investigation results before we talk about it."

Su Ruoya looked silently at the man in front of her, her face full of sorrow, and she made two sounds that sounded like both crying and laughing.

She spoke softly, "Okay, we'll wait. I know that whatever I say won't be as fair and just as what the police say."

"But you've hurt me so much. I thought that after all these years, we would still be compatible as always, and that you would be the one who understands me best in the world. But now it seems that everything has changed. Xijue, why have you changed? Could it be that you've really fallen for her?"

Tears streamed down her face again, her delicate frame seeming as if it would shatter at the slightest touch.

Gu Xijue frowned and clenched his fists slightly. Only Su Ruoya's sobs could be heard in the corridor.

"Don't cry." He finally walked over to Su Ruoya, took out a handkerchief from his bag, and handed it to her.

She took the handkerchief and wiped her eyes, but her heart was clenched with worry. He would never answer questions directly.

What Su Ruoya didn't expect was that the police had even traced the case overseas. Now she had to take further action; she couldn't let this matter involve her...

"Come on, have dinner with me."
