Chapter 14 I Don't Owe You Anything
After quietly finishing her breakfast, Song Jin'an went for a walk in the yard to digest her food. After the walk, she went upstairs to study at the exact time of her online class.

When Lin's mother went upstairs to deliver fruit, she saw the woman listening attentively to the lesson. Her admiration was undisguised. Having worked as a nanny in this villa for several years, she understood the hardships this mute woman had endured.

Thinking to myself, how could my husband not see such a wonderful wife...

The schedule was very full. After lunch, I took a nap and then continued studying.

When it was time for dinner, Gu Xijue still hadn't returned. Song Jin'an was already used to it, so she prepared to charge her tablet and go downstairs for dinner, but she couldn't find the charger anywhere in the room.

Lin's mother told her to look in the study. Song Jin'an rarely went into the study; it was practically a forbidden zone for her.

Inside the study, Song Jin'an quickly searched and soon found the charger on the table. She reached out to take it.

My gaze, however, was drawn to the rows of magnificent trophies on the bookshelf, each one well protected by a transparent glass case, untouched by a speck of dust.

Song Jin'an looked up at the trophies that symbolized glory, all of which Gu Xijue had won in motorcycle racing.

She glanced again at the empty glass case; all that was missing was one more trophy to complete her Grand Slam.

Each trophy is engraved with the date it was won, except for the one that is empty, where the date is sandwiched in the middle: the year Su Ruoya went abroad.

Song Jin'an wasn't stupid; she immediately connected the timelines, chuckled self-deprecatingly, and left the study.

……

Life went on at a leisurely pace, with Gu Xijue still leaving early and returning late every day, although he never stayed out overnight.

Song Jin'an didn't care at all. She had many things to do and no extra energy to spend on other people.

Another month passed, and she was three months pregnant. Today was her prenatal checkup at the hospital, which was a rare occasion. When she came downstairs, Gu Xijue was still there, eating breakfast at the dining table.

He glanced at Song Jin'an, who was walking out, and said, "You've gone stupid from studying too much. Come and eat."

Sometimes Song Jin'an really wished she were deaf and mute, so she wouldn't have to hear the man in front of her speak.

She has indeed learned a lot from online courses recently, and is even thinking about taking an adult education exam in a few years.

"Are you deaf?" Gu Xijue stared at her without saying a word.

Song Jin'an didn't want to argue with him, so she took out her phone, quickly typed a message, and handed it over.

I have to go to the hospital for a prenatal checkup today, and I can only eat after the blood test.

She didn't expect him to accompany her to the hospital, so she didn't say anything more and turned to leave.

At the hospital, it didn't take long for the test results to come out, and everything was normal.

Song Jin soothed her lower abdomen and listened with a smile as the doctor interpreted the report, saying that the baby was healthy. She was very happy and took out her phone to share her joy, but then put it back in her bag. No one would truly welcome this child.

After returning to the villa from the hospital, I planned to eat something to tide me over before going upstairs to rest.

Unexpectedly, he saw Su Ruoya here. Gu Xijue stood beside Su Ruoya, his eyes filled with indifference.

Song Jin'an glanced at them calmly, nodded slightly, and then walked past them up the stairs to the second floor.

"Don't misunderstand, I just brought the trophy over." Su Ruoya's eyes were filled with caution, as if she was afraid that Song Jin'an would be angry.

At this moment, the trophy was placed on the table next to him. Song Jin'an glanced at the time of winning it, which corresponded exactly to the one missing in the study.

Gu Xijue said coldly, "What does she know? There's no need to talk to her; it's a waste of breath."

A dark glint flashed in Su Ruoya's eyes, but no one saw it. She then reached out and gently squeezed Gu Xijue's wrist: "Xijue, she is your wife. Your words are too hurtful." Song Jin'an's face remained expressionless. She knew that the woman in front of her was putting on an act, and she didn't want to get entangled with her; it was too tiring.

As she turned to walk upstairs, her wrist was grabbed.

“This wasn’t Xijue’s intention, don’t be angry.” Su Ruoya bit her lip and continued, “I also told Xijue that it’s not entirely your fault that I fell into the pool. If I had been more steady, I wouldn’t have fallen in.”

Song Jin'an frowned and directly shook off Su Ruoya's hand.

Su Ruoya lost her balance and her body involuntarily fell backward!
Gu Xijue quickly shielded her, his gaze piercing Song Jin'an like a knife: "What's wrong with you!"

Song Jin'an took out her phone, quickly typed a message, and then activated the voice message: "I didn't push you, you dragged me down!"

Su Ruoya was startled by the mechanical electronic voice, but Song Jin'an knew to strike where it hurts, and continued the voice broadcast: "The area over the pool is out of the reach of the surveillance cameras, Miss Su, you're very proud of yourself, aren't you? Everyone believes what you say, including my husband!"

"That's not how it is, you've misunderstood..." Su Ruoya's voice was choked with emotion.

Gu Xijue's thin lips pressed into a line, his brows furrowed: "Song Jin'an, you're full of lies, you don't deserve to be the mother of my Gu family's children!"

Those deep eyes stared at her coldly, as if she were the most wicked person in the world.

"Xi Jue, don't say such hurtful things. Miss Song is still the mother of the child, no matter what." Su Ruoya's voice was gentle as water, but her eyes concealed a deep sense of pride.

Song Jin'an's eyes darkened, and her fingers curled tightly together.

Gu Xi seemed to be thinking about something. He picked up the trophy and went to the study on the second floor. He disappeared from their sight completely.

Su Ruoya immediately tore off her mask of hypocrisy and looked at her triumphantly: "Song Jin'an, you see? Xi Jue will always believe in me unconditionally, but what are you?"

"Do you know how much that trophy means to him?" She leaned closer to Song Jin'an and suddenly smiled, "He used it to propose to me."

Song Jin'an tapped on the keyboard for a while, then placed it in front of Su Ruoya.

She wrote: But you rejected his marriage proposal, broke up with him, and went abroad.

Su Ruoya's face turned pale, but she forced a smile: "Miss Song, relationships are about first come, first served, and you are the mistress who stood between me and Xijue, knowingly becoming a mistress and shamelessly climbing into his bed."

Song Jin'an's throat tightened, her emotions surging, and she typed in with her voice: "You're lying, I didn't!"

Su Ruoya pulled Song Jin'an in front of her. Song Jin'an struggled to pull her hand away, but her arm swept across a vase on the table, which shattered with a crash.

Song Jin'an covered her lower abdomen and dodged backward, but Su Ruoya stared at her lower abdomen with a strange smile: "Blame it on you for being born into the wrong family..."

As soon as she finished speaking, Su Ruoya grabbed Song Jin'an's hand and flung it away. She then leaned back and fell onto the broken pieces of the vase.

Song Jin'an's stomach hit the corner of the table, and the excruciating pain made her face turn pale instantly. She clutched her stomach and slipped to the ground, making a terrible, heart-wrenching sound.

Gu Xijue's face was gloomy and terrifying. He had heard the noise in the study and was even more agitated. He could no longer suppress his anger and opened the door.

Enraged, he shouted, "Song Jin'an, what are you still doing?!"

Then, Gu Xijue's eyes widened, and he froze on the spot. A sense of guilt and disbelief, which seemed to come from nowhere, lingered in his heart. His heart seemed to skip a beat, and he was stunned for a moment.

Song Jin'an was bleeding profusely from her lower body, as if a bloody hole was draining all the blood from her body...

She grinned, looked up at Gu Xijue, her lips trembling, and a mute, harsh voice entered her ears.

—Gu Xijue, I'm returning this child to you. I don't owe you anything anymore. Let's get a divorce.
