Chapter 7 The Gluttonous Vasita

Chapter 7 The Gluttonous Vasita
"All first-year students, come and pick up your 'New Student Guide'."

Students in second grade and above should remember to check their "School Year Plan" in their Witch's Book.

As usual, there are no classes scheduled for the next three days. Please carefully read the "New Student Guide" or "Academic Year Plan." The academic year will officially begin after three days.

Ms. Amisa produced a stack of booklets, and each first-grade witch received one.

The female students, on the other hand, produced a large book from somewhere and were looking down at something.

The older the female student, the thicker the books she carries.

After receiving the booklet, before they could even look at it, Ms. Amisha told all the little witches to step back and lean against the wall.

Five long tables laden with delicious food appeared in the open space in the middle.

"Alright, dinner begins! Especially for the first-year students, enjoy your meal!"

Ms. Amisha gave a meaningful smile, then her figure gradually faded away and disappeared into the auditorium.

The next moment, everyone was able to speak.

However, the older female students didn't seem to be in the mood to talk; they all rushed to the dining table without prior arrangement.

Even senior Lilith abandoned her and her fellow witch juniors.

Everyone was very orderly, with one table per grade, and no one moved around or fought over anything.

The first-grade witches were left standing there, completely bewildered.

Only one freshman acted even faster than the upperclassmen, rushing to the dining table like a cannonball and starting to eat heartily.

With her and her seniors setting an example, the unsuspecting freshmen followed suit and ran to the first-year students' dining table.

Moran looked at the freshman who was the first to rush out.

Despite its small size, it devoured food with gluttony.

Who is Vasida, who wasn't previously known for her "social anxiety"?
Moran felt that her previous judgment was probably wrong.

Socially anxious people would never do something like being the first to step forward and stand out.

This child looks like he hasn't eaten for a month.

And Ms. Amisa just left like that? Without any instructions or arrangements, the freshmen had nothing but the "Freshman Guide" in their hands, and they didn't even know where they would stay that night.

Isn't that a bit too much freedom?
"Moran, let's go have lunch together!" Sylph hesitated for a moment before inviting her.

Now only the two of them are still standing there, not moving.

“Okay!” Moran snapped out of her thoughts and walked with Sylph toward the first-year students’ dining table.

There's only one spot left on either side of Vasita.

She ate with astonishing speed, and when she greeted people earlier, she seemed quite aloof, so the other little witches didn't dare to sit next to her.

Moran and Sylph didn't seem to care about any of that and sat down next to Vasida.

"Molan, here you go! This lamb chop is especially delicious!"

Ais returned with a plate piled high with roasted lamb chops and saw Moran sitting next to her. She happily shared the plate with Moran.

The lamb chop was at the other end of the long table, a bit far from them, making it difficult to reach.

The lamb chops did indeed look very appetizing.

"Thank you!" Moran didn't stand on ceremony; she hadn't eaten dinner and was indeed a little hungry.

She was very impressed with Ais.

Ais has outstanding talent in fire element and cooking magic, but her talent in other magic types is average.

She was also the only little witch in this year's freshmen who had a decent understanding of food. Her mother was a food witch, and with a family tradition of culinary arts, she had eaten countless delicacies since childhood. Even before she came into contact with magic, she had already learned some cooking skills.

However, Ais's mother is skilled at cooking desserts, while Ais is particularly interested in cooking meat.

Her school uniform pockets were bulging with bits of salted meat she had made herself.

They were square and neatly wrapped in oil paper, like little candies.

Even the seemingly aloof Vasita was touched by Ais's meatball candy, and her "thank you" was several decibels louder than that of the other little witches.

Moran still trusted Ais's taste.

She cut a piece of lamb chop, put it in her mouth, and her eyes lit up immediately: "Delicious!"

"Right! Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a unique aroma. I wonder what spices they used!"

As Ais savored the lamb chops, she pondered how to make them.

Moran sensed that the lamb chops had a cumin aroma.

Shana's mother is also skilled in culinary magic, and has a fairly complete collection of food utensils and spices; she basically has all the common ones.

But cumin was never found in her spice box.

It is clear that cumin was not a common spice in Valen.

In Valen, where powerful individuals often travel to other worlds through the Well of Heaven, it's not surprising that something new or unusual might emerge.

Even if this really is cumin, it might have another name in Valencia.

Therefore, Moran did not reveal his guess.

After finishing the lamb chop, Moran declined Ais's invitation for another one, as she wanted to try other things on the table.

Although, in Ais’s opinion, none of them could compare to the roasted lamb chops.

Moran discovered that every time one dish of food was eaten, a new one would appear, and there was never a shortage.

Vasita, who was sitting next to her, had been eating honey bread one by one since she sat down, while the basket in front of her was still piled high with bread.

After devouring about a hundred small bread rolls, Vasita finally stopped, looked up, and let out a deep sigh of relief.

Vasita happened to meet the gaze of the witch classmate opposite her and gave her a friendly smile.

This laugh startled the little witch across from her, causing her to drop the chicken leg in her hand.

Vasita: "..."

She knew she had acted like a weirdo, but she had no choice in the matter!
Fortunately, she still had two companions: "Moran! Sylph! In your daily lives, were there any differences between you and ordinary little witches?"

His voice was strong and clear, showing no trace of his previous social anxiety.
Not only Moran and Sylph, but all the little witches around who heard her speak were stunned.

"Um... I really didn't mean to, I was just so hungry. Luckily I didn't faint during the entrance ceremony... Please don't misunderstand, I'm really not a loner at all. I'm usually very easy to get along with, except when I'm starving..."

Vasita hurriedly explained.

"So, when you greeted everyone earlier, your voice was so soft because you were too hungry to speak?"

Although this answer is somewhat outrageous, Moran feels that it may be the truth.

Some of her attention was focused on Vasita, who seemed to have social anxiety. If she was extremely hungry, it would explain why Vasita's voice was so soft just moments before, but now it was full of energy.

They were probably finally full.

Although the amount of honey bread in the basket hadn't decreased, Vasita had already devoured several.
