Chapter 256: Sniping Arthas
Chapter 256: Sniping Arthas
"Run!"
"Arthas murdered His Majesty the King!"
"The undead have entered the city—"
The shrill cries coming from the palace made Muradin alert.
He had just recovered his memory and was about to go find Terenas after listening to the priest's words. He didn't know what happened to Arthas later, but he had a bad feeling.
However, he had just entered the palace when he heard shouting.
Did Arthas kill Terenas?
Muradin didn't believe the news when he first heard it, because he knew Arthas wasn't that kind of person. But when he thought about Jack asking him to persuade Terenas, Muradin's heart couldn't help but twitch.
Just as he was about to go against the flow of people to the palace, he saw a girl running towards him in a panic. When the girl saw Muradin, she acted like a savior, "Sir Muradin, help me!"
"Princess Calia, what happened? I heard someone shouting that Arthas killed King Terenas..."
"This is true..." Princess Jia Liya sobbed, "I saw with my own eyes that Arthas inserted the sword into my father's body..."
"Arthas... why would he do this... that's our beloved father..."
Muradin couldn't believe this fact, but Princess Calia would not lie to him. Thinking of Jack's words, Muradin said quickly: "Princess Calia, come with me to the Alterac Mountains. There are people there who can help us."
In this way, Muradin took Princess Calia and followed the refugees to the Alterac Mountains. As soon as they entered the mountains, Muradin saw an elven ranger directing the refugees to take refuge.
"Go to the left, we have set up a shelter and can provide you with assistance."
Muradin and Princess Calia came over. Before he could speak, he heard the Elf Ranger say with surprise: "Sir Muradin, it's a pleasure to see you again."
"Do you know me? Elf." Muradin asked puzzledly.
Elf Ranger: "Of course, but you were still unconscious at that time. Captain Jack is waiting for you. Please follow the refugees and you will see Captain Jack when you reach the shelter."
Muradin nodded, and took Princess Calia with him to follow the refugees to a shelter. This shelter should have been established not long ago, but it was large enough to accommodate tens of thousands of refugees.
Veresa was organizing people to distribute hot water and food to the refugees. The crew of the Black Pearl was not enough, so she temporarily recruited some young and strong people to help.
Jack was standing on the Black Pearl, summarizing the information obtained by the drone reconnaissance.
Agatha: "Lordaeron has been conquered by the Undead. Refugees are constantly attacking Alterac. The number of refugees has exceeded tens of thousands."
Jack frowned and said, "We need more food, otherwise we will have nothing to eat in a day."
Agatha: "I'm afraid the undead won't give us this chance. Some are already chasing us. If we can't get rid of them, I'm afraid the undead army will attack us soon."
"Send the Undead Army over here and keep an eye on Arthas's movements."
Jack saw Muradin, gave Agatha some instructions, then jumped off the Black Pearl and strode towards them.
"Muradin, it's great to see you."
Muradin laughed and hugged Jack. "Gangplank, I'm glad to see you, too."
Jack smiled awkwardly, "It seems you are still blaming me for lying to you."
Muradin patted his arm. "Of course. If we knew you were Jack Sparrow, we wouldn't have helped you that much."
The two chatted for a while, and Jack asked about the situation in Lordaeron.
Muradin sighed and recounted what he had seen. "Jack, I never thought that Arthas would actually kill his biological father."
Jack said: "I'm not surprised, because I noticed something was wrong when I was in Northrend. According to the description of those soldiers, Arthas disappeared on the snowfield after killing Mal'Ganis. I think he might have died at that time."
"What?" Princess Jia Liya asked in surprise: "Arthas is dead?"
Jack glanced at her, and Muradin introduced her, "This is Princess Calia, the eldest daughter of King Terenas."
"This is just my guess. I really don't know any other reason that would make Arthas kill his father."
Princess Jia Liya fell silent. Yes! Apart from this reason, what else could destroy Arthas's humanity?
Arthas stared blankly at the corpses in the city. These were once his people. And now, they were about to become his people again.
"Resurrect all the corpses, then launch an assault on Alterac Mountains."
A few hours later, the Undead Army marched towards the Alterac Mountains. Before they arrived, they were detected by Agatha.
Agatha quickly found Jack and said, "Captain, the army of the undead is about to reach the mountain pass, and Arthas is among them."
"Lure them here!"
Jack looked at Princess Calia and said, "Please don't be sad for a while."
Princess Jialiya was stunned for a moment, then immediately responded, "What... do you want to do?"
Jack said in a deep voice: "I want to kill Arthas."
Princess Calia raised her arm to stop Jack, but she didn't say it out loud. Regardless of whether Arthas was an undead or not, he should be killed just for his patricide.
Muradin said, "Jack, what are you going to do?"
"I have already made the arrangements. Muradin, you must protect Princess Calia. The Kingdom of Lordaeron still needs her to govern."
Muradin nodded and said to Princess Calia: "Come with me! It's better for you not to participate in this battle!"
Princess Calia followed Muradin's instructions and hid in the shelter.
Jack returned to the Black Pearl and flew to the top of the mountain on Trilliax.
Vereesa set about organizing a defense, taking advantage of the environment and trapping the undead army at the mountain pass.
When Arthas saw that the undead army was blocked, he rushed over immediately, hoping to use his own strength to open a gap.
However, he didn't know that he had become Jack's prey.
Jack waited for Arthas to appear at the pass, then aimed Titanstrike at him.
A bolt of lightning shot out and struck Arthas directly. The violent thunder tore Arthas' body apart and melted his soul.
If it weren't for the powerful energy surging from Frostmourne that protected Arthas' body, he would probably have been destroyed on the spot.
The undead army lost its commander and immediately fell into disarray.
