Chapter 2, Jason, I am your half-brother!

living room.

The window facing Crystal Lake had a large hole in it, with shards of glass scattered all over the floor. Among the blood-stained shards of glass lay a dead head, its eyes wide open, its face filled with terror, and blood still slowly seeping from the smooth cut at the neck.

The two girls huddled together in a corner of the living room, tears streaming down their faces, trembling as they stared at the dead man's head.

—This is the scene that Li Xingzhou and Xiao Juanmao saw when they entered the living room.

"Chris Waldfeld!"

Upon seeing the dead man's head, the curly-haired boy's face turned deathly pale, and he screamed:
"That's Chris's head! How did he manage to cut his own head off? Has he gone mad?"

As he spoke, he quickly lit the hand-rolled cigarette he was holding in his mouth and took a puff to calm his nerves.

Li Xingzhou glanced at the curly-haired guy speechlessly, thinking that the guy must have lost his mind from being so high.

Could Chris have broken his own head?

The two girls in the corner, seeing Li Xingzhou and Curly Hair appear, clearly wanted to get up and move closer to them, but they were too terrified to stand up, their legs too weak. They could only call out their names in trembling voices.
“Leon, Stevens…”

Li Xingzhou glanced around the hall briefly, then walked towards the two girls, with the curly-haired girl quickly following beside him.

Approaching the two girls, Li Xingzhou half-squatted down, smiled slightly at them, and said softly:
"Don't be afraid. Tell me, what happened? How did Chris die?"

The two girls were filled with fear and were on the verge of a mental breakdown. They couldn't even stand up and were completely unable to organize their thoughts properly.

But seeing Li Xingzhou's smile and hearing his gentle voice, the two girls' emotions visibly stabilized, and the fear in their eyes unconsciously dissipated.

Helena, a blonde girl with a pure and lovely appearance, wearing jeans and a short-sleeved T-shirt on the left, reached out and tightly grasped Li Xingzhou's hand, saying in a trembling voice:
"Chris... just now he noticed something in the woods outside, something like a figure standing under a tree peering out the window... Chris warned it a few times, but the figure didn't move, so he... he grabbed a baseball bat and went out to chase it away..."

Chris is a star player on the school's football team. He is strong, has also trained in boxing, and is bold and confident. Given his personality, it is not surprising that he would take the initiative to attack someone who was spying on him and remained unmoved after being warned.

only……

This is Crystal Lake.

That guy from Crystal Lake, even American traditional martial arts are no match for him, let alone baseball bats.

"Shortly after Chris left..."

Next to Helena, a blonde girl wearing denim shorts and a low-cut, cropped, tight-fitting T-shirt sobbed as she spoke:

"His head smashed through the window and flew in... Oh my god, Leon, someone chopped his head off! Chris's head has been chopped off!"

This girl is Katie. She has a sweet face, long legs, a slim waist, a hot figure, and an outgoing personality. She is the captain of the school cheerleading team, and the dead Chris was her boyfriend.

“Li Ang… the legend of Crystal Lake is true! There really is a serial killer here, what should we do?” Helena asked tearfully, gripping Li Xingzhou’s hands tightly.

Katie also tightly hugged Li Xingzhou's arm, as if she wanted to hang her whole body on him. "I, Helena and I tried to call the police, but the call couldn't go through... There's no signal here... Li Ang, the killer is still roaming outside, what should we do?"

Curly-haired Stevens looked enviously at Li Xingzhou, who was "embraced by two women," and said in a low voice while smoking to bolster his courage:
"The Crystal Lake Serial Killer is a legend from the 1980s. Even if that killer really existed and has been at large ever since, he'd be an old man by now, no match for Chris... I think the one who killed Chris was probably a copycat. Maybe he took advantage of the darkness, hiding in the shadows and ambushing Chris from behind to cut off his head. Hmm, before beheading him, he might have given him a kidney shot first, completely breaking down Chris's ability to resist."

Logically speaking, Curly Hair's reasoning is perfectly reasonable.

The problem is, Jason of Crystal Lake isn't a normal human being.

While gently comforting Helena and Katie, Li Xingzhou used his remaining, but still overwhelmingly powerful, primordial spirit to cast a beginner-level mental magic spell, soothing their emotions like spring rain and giving them a sense of security on a spiritual level.

Once their emotions had stabilized and their minds were more at peace, Li Xingzhou freed his hands from their embrace, stood up, and looked out the window:

“We can’t get through to the police, and the killer could break in at any moment. We can’t stay here and wait to die. Helena and Katie stay here, Steve, you take care of them. I’m going out to check.”

His tone was calm and gentle, as if he were talking about a trivial matter, and even the curly-haired girl, Helena, and Katie, who should have opposed his adventure, all nodded obediently in agreement. It wasn't until they watched him open the door and leave that the three people left in the room gradually came to their senses.

"This... why did Leon go out alone?" Stacey exclaimed. "Chris was so strong and he was killed. Isn't it just suicide for Leon to go out alone?"

Compared to the tall, strong, and muscular Chris, Leonardo Victor, who usually presents himself as a bookworm on campus and is tall but slightly thin, doesn't look particularly imposing or strong. It's hard to believe that he could stand up to the killer who murdered Chris.

"Yeah, how could we just let him go like that?"

"Call him back immediately!"

Helena and Katie exchanged a glance, then rushed to the door, calling Li Xingzhou's name as they carefully opened it. They looked outside, but there was no sign of him anywhere.

……

"Jason, Jason, Jason... my lovely little brother Jason, where are you?"

Outside the wooden house, in a dark and quiet grove of trees.

Li Xingzhou hummed a little tune he had composed softly as he walked briskly through the woods.

He certainly wouldn't go and die.

As a demon lord who has lived nine lifetimes, he has no awareness of selflessness.

Even having learned from the lessons of being targeted by Heaven, Earth, and Man in his previous nine lives, he decided to do more good deeds in this life, but he could not risk his life for a few silly college students he had only known for less than a quarter of an hour.

The reason he came out alone was, of course, because he was confident and wanted to do something that was inconvenient for outsiders to see.

“Jason, Jason, Jason…”

Amidst the cheerful singing, Li Xingzhou followed a faint scent of blood to the depths of the woods, where he found a headless corpse lying in a pool of blood.

Without a doubt, it was Chris's body.

"Tsk, poor Chris..."

Li Xingzhou shook his head, walked to the headless corpse, looked around, and suddenly stared at a huge tree that was as thick as a man's embrace. He spoke in an eerie tone, with a low, resonant quality, like a chant:

“Jason, my dear little brother Jason, your brother is here… Come out and see your brother…”

Accompanied by this eerie murmur.

Heavy footsteps sounded from behind the big tree.

Then, a figure about two meters tall and with an exceptionally robust build appeared in front of Li Xingzhou.

Looking at the burly figure dressed in tattered, damp canvas overalls, wearing an old hockey mask, and wielding a rusty, blood-stained machete, a genuinely pleased smile appeared on Li Xingzhou's face:

"Jason! My half-brother, I've finally met you..."

Li Xingzhou opened his arms wide to welcome Jason's arrival.

However, Jason does not seem to acknowledge Li Xingzhou as his half-brother.

Step, step, step...

With heavy footsteps, Jason approached Li Xingzhou step by step, his steps slightly stiff but not slow, as he slowly raised the large machete in his hand.
