Chapter 19 Wandering Monk

"Shall we go to Tanabata Street first?"

Uchiha Muneki looked Tsunade up and down, his face full of suspicion. "Are you really not a gambler who won a bet? Planning to go there and gamble a couple of times?"

"Ahem, of course not!" Tsunade put her hands on her hips, her phoenix eyes glaring fiercely at him: "In your eyes, am I the kind of person who can't tell what's important?"

"Whether it is or not, you know best in your heart," Uchiha Muneki said, a smirk playing on his lips, his face full of doubt.

It wasn't that he didn't believe her, it was just that this woman was extremely addicted to gambling.

The legendary Sannin of Konoha, the founder of the medical ninja system, and the director of Konoha Hospital, almost lost the entire Konoha Hospital in one night. If it weren't for the intervention of the Hokage's personal guards, the Anbu, this woman would probably have lost everything. This shows just how addicted she was to gambling.

The boy's skeptical gaze made Tsunade blush. She wanted to retort, but lacked confidence: "There's a seal on the south side of Tanabata Street, isn't this on the way?"

"The Mori-no-Ma is clearly south of Konoha, and Tanabata Street is to the southwest." Uchiha Munezuki said expressionlessly, pointing to the nearest location on the scroll: "The two locations are more than 170 kilometers apart. Lady Tsunade, are you sure this is on the way?"

"Aren't they all in the south?"

Tsunade, who was being questioned, pouted like a little girl, twisting her two slender white fingers together, and said aggrievedly, "I was just thinking that we have to go to so many places on our way, and your outfit would easily attract attention, so I thought we should go to Tanabata Street to buy some clothes to disguise ourselves."

That could be considered a reason.

The scroll records at least a dozen sealing locations, scattered throughout the Land of Fire.

Not to mention the ANBU mask he was wearing; Tsunade alone was enough to draw attention, and the combination of the two of them was truly eye-catching.

Therefore, Tsunade's concerns were not unfounded.

However, Uchiha Muneki wasn't fooled at all. He had already seen through the woman's little scheme and directly exposed her, saying, "Then why didn't you say so this morning in Konoha?"

"I forgot."

Tsunade spread her hands, looking innocent.

Faced with such an unyielding "female rogue," even Uchiha Munezuki felt helpless and had no choice but to agree to her plan: "Alright, let's do as you say and go to Tanabata Street first, but we've agreed that we'll stay for no more than one day."

"Great!"

A sly glint flashed in Tsunade's eyes, and she revealed a triumphant smile.

Having decided on his route, Uchiha Munetsuki stopped worrying and planned to get to Tanabata as quickly as possible, rest for a day, and then head to Mori no Ma.

Speechless all the way.

As sunset approached, the neon lights of Tanabata Street finally came into view.

He hadn't rested much since last night and had been running around almost non-stop all day, leaving Uchiha Munetsuki exhausted.

"Huff, huff," he gasped, his hands on his knees.

"Tsk tsk tsk, kid, your stamina is terrible, how come you're so weak?" On the other hand, Tsunade still looked completely at ease, without even breaking a sweat. She narrowed her beautiful eyes and teased, "Why don't you call me 'older sister'? Maybe I'll be in a good mood and teach you a few moves."

"No need, Lady Tsunade." Uchiha Muneki shook his head in refusal, took a deep breath, and straightened up: "Don't forget what you promised me."

"Oh, I know, I know." Tsunade's eyes turned slightly cold. She pouted, snorted, and turned her head away. "If you don't want to teach me, fine. I don't want to teach you anyway."

After saying that, Tsunade seemed to be angry and ignored him, walking straight into Tanabata Street.

Women are such a hassle

Uchiha Muneki sighed helplessly and followed him inside.

Come to think of it, although he had carried out many missions, he had never been to Tanabata Street before, so this was a good opportunity for him to take a good look around.

Tanabata Street is a famous red-light district in the Land of Fire, filled with casinos, amusement parks, and hotels; it's no exaggeration to call it paradise.

The dazzling neon lights, the lively atmosphere, the bustling crowds, and the thriving commercial streets gave Uchiha Muneki the illusion of returning to his past life.

He had already removed his ANBU mask and followed Tsunade to a hot spring hotel, where they checked in separately.

Seemingly influenced by the booming Tanabata Street, Tsunade's mood improved again. Without even taking a break, she hurriedly ran off after leaving behind a single sentence.

Without a doubt, this woman must have gone to the casino. "It's still early, let's go out for a stroll."

Nighttime is when Tanabata Street is at its most exciting, and Uchiha Munetsuki, having come all this way, doesn't plan to rest so early.

The charming and alluring women lining both sides of the street are beckoning tourists with their captivating allure.

"As expected, although it's called a red-light district in name only, it's not that simple in reality." Uchiha Munezuki wandered aimlessly, like a transparent person detached from the hustle and bustle, silently 'observing' the pedestrians and tourists coming and going on the street, and he discovered something interesting.

A very small number of people here are actually ninjas!
A rogue ninja? Or a spy from another ninja village?

Or perhaps, both?
Uchiha Muneki seemed to be deep in thought. No wonder Jiraiya liked to come here to gather information. Since ancient times, brothels have been natural information gathering places.

boom!
Uchiha Muneki, who was deep in thought, did not notice the person coming from in front of him and bumped into him.

The opponent was tall and burly, and Uchiha Muneki was knocked back two steps.

"Namo Amitabha."

The man seemed quite surprised, but quickly recovered, put his hands together, and bowed deeply: "I am very sorry, benefactor. I was thinking about something just now, so I didn't notice that there was someone in front of me and accidentally bumped into you. Please forgive my rudeness."

"Well, it's okay."

Uchiha Muneki scratched the back of his head and gave a simple, honest smile: "It was my fault, I didn't notice the master."

The monk looked young, probably only in his twenties. He wore a white robe, his hair was gathered on top of his head, and he had a long braid at the back of his head. However, what was strange was that he had a Roman numeral 'V' tattooed below his left eye and a black mark on his chin.

"Since you are well, I will take my leave now."

The monk clasped his hands in a gesture of respect again and then prepared to leave.

"Please wait a moment, Master."

Uchiha Muneki suddenly called out to the monk.

The monk paused slightly, then stopped and turned back to look at him with a puzzled expression: "Benefactor, is there something you need?"

"Since we've met, it must be fate."

Uchiha Muneki smiled and said, "My name is Uchiha Obito. What's yours?"

"So you're from the famous Uchiha clan." The monk paused for half a second, not expecting the boy to be so direct, but quickly smiled and said, "I am Jigen, a wandering monk."

"Ci Xian, what a good name."

Uchiha Munetsuki said meaningfully, "It's a pleasure to meet you. I hope we can meet again sometime."

"This humble monk takes his leave."

Cixian smiled, clasped his hands in a gesture of respect, and then hurried away.

"Ci-hsien"

As he watched the monk's departing figure, Uchiha Sogetsu's eyes gradually turned cold.

He had been in a state of 'psychological invisibility' the whole time, so the passersby and ninjas around him did not notice him.

But not only did 'Ci-Xian' notice him, he even bumped into him.

Not intentional?
Haha, such a lame excuse might fool a child, but to fool him?
"Even Jigen has shown up."

Uchiha Muneki looked up at the moon with a heavy heart: "This ninja world is really getting more and more interesting."

As Cixian was leaving, she paused and turned back as if sensing something.

"Is it just my imagination?" He frowned as he looked back down the road he had come from, muttering to himself, "The way that kid looked at me was a little strange."

Since some readers have asked, I'll explain it here.

No Boruto! No Boruto! No Boruto! The reason Boruto's characters appeared is purely for the sake of Otsuki's setting and to pave the way for the protagonist's journey to space later on. So don't worry, Boruto won't appear. From the moment the protagonist appears, the original history will cease to exist.
