Chapter 27 Convergence
There are only two of them, yet they have the nerve to take up such a large space.

"I know the owner of this house. Young lady, how come you're so young?"

“I don’t know her.” Jiang Shi’an calmly took out the key and handed it to Song Jinhe.

Shen Li saw the key and her smile froze slightly. She was about to say something.

Song Jinhe didn't open the door. Instead, she got into her car, which was covered in fragments of zombie skin, and drove straight toward the other party.

These people thought she wouldn't dare to hit him, so they stood there with their hands on their hips until they saw that the car showed no sign of slowing down, and then they got scared.

"What are you doing? What are you trying to do?!"

Yu Guang fell backward, bracing himself with his hands on the ground, and staggered away, yelling, "How could you hit someone with your car! That's outrageous! What kind of things are in that car?"

Reasoning? Song Jinhe sneered. They were about to raid her base, and she still wanted to reason with her?

"You should be glad you didn't climb in." They didn't touch her supplies.

Several people stood outside in a sorry state, their faces contorted with anger, but they didn't know what to say. They had thought that a young girl was just trying to intimidate people with a kitchen knife, but they never expected that she would actually dare to drive her car into people.

"This is a mentally unstable shrew," Shen Li said, her expression hardening as she offered an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, I might have remembered the wrong house number. We only come to stay here a couple of days a year, we didn't mean anything by it."

Song Jinhe said sincerely, "I didn't mean anything by it, I just wanted to remind you not to come here next time. Sometimes I mistake the accelerator for the brake."

The commotion attracted the attention of others.

Song Jinhe glanced over and saw that they were all dressed in relatively clean and warm clothes, and seemed to be in good condition. They had families with them, and did not look like people who had been living outdoors for a long time.

They still had a car, which indicates that the place they used to live in was not at a low altitude.

It should be this area on the outskirts of the city.

Her gaze suddenly paused; the people walking behind her were Cheng Yan and Zhang Yi, whom she hadn't seen for half a month.

"Jinhe!" Zhang Yi was stunned for two seconds before realizing she hadn't misread it. She excitedly ran to Song Jinhe and exclaimed, "Thank goodness, you're alright!"

"Are they the people you're looking for?" Jiang Shi'an stepped forward, still with that lazy and aloof demeanor.

"Mm." Song Jinhe nodded.

"Come in first."

Jiang Shi'an spoke first, and then Song Jinhe gestured to the two of them.

"I didn't expect to run into their companions here." Zhao Huiyun, the long-haired girl, said in a slightly subdued tone after seeing this scene.

She had already told Cheng Yan about the gifted individuals, and Cheng Yan said that if she really couldn't find any companions, she should join them.

“This place is suitable for survival, so it’s not surprising that someone came looking for it first.” Zhuang Ting turned to his companions, “My house is the one we just passed by. Let’s move the supplies inside first.”

Zhao Huiyun walked to the car with her hiking stick, her face not looking too good. Zhuang Ting knew what she was thinking, so he said, "We'll stay here for now and see how things are going."

-

Song Jinhe learned about the situation of those people from Cheng Yan.

"They mentioned 'gifted individuals,' saying they heard the name on the radio more than twenty days ago, but they couldn't hear the channel clearly. It sounded like some kind of research center or shelter."

Cheng Yan paused slightly, "I think my symptoms are very similar to yours back then."

“That’s true.” Song Jinhe was also a little surprised that the team of six had two of the earliest awakened talents.

"Jinhe, what is your talent?" Zhang Yi asked. She was a little disappointed that she didn't have that kind of luck, but she was also happy. It was a good thing that the team was strong overall, as it would greatly increase everyone's chances of survival.

“My talent isn’t very aggressive; it’s more like a danger warning,” Song Jinhe said, without going into too much detail.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Shi'an, who had been sitting silently on the sofa, paused slightly, a faint smile flashing across his eyes.

Not aggressive at all?
Does it mean smashing the head of a mutated bat flying in mid-air with a hammer with your left hand, or squatting behind a trash can and throwing a Molotov cocktail?

If it hadn't suddenly started hailing, those people would have been on fire and no one would know who did it.

She also said that the zombie was number six, meaning that the zombie couldn't speak.

"No wonder you knew about the robbers last time! That's great!" Zhang Yi exclaimed in realization. "If it weren't for your talent, we definitely wouldn't have been able to escape."

Song Jinhe had asked Jiang Shi'an, and he agreed that the two of them could stay and form a team before Cheng Yan and the others started moving their things inside.

With two more people on the side, we won't have to worry about being broken into when we go out to find supplies.

Those people who came today, whether they actually own a house here or are just making up an excuse, they can't possibly kill the whole family.

There's another strong team; there's no need to make enemies.

Besides, those few people couldn't possibly keep an eye on the entire villa area.

The villas in this area are spaced far apart, and this particular house is surrounded by trees, making it quiet and secluded.

Song Jinhe placed the generator in the basement and reorganized the supplies. She put all the important supplies that could be stored in her spatial storage space, while the storage room was used to conceal the spatial storage space.

She took out a pen and paper and wrote down the supplies she needed and the places she had already searched.

I found more than a dozen bags of rice and flour at the mall, half of which had already been made into cooked food and packed into disposable lunch boxes in the space.

If she can still find supplies, she doesn't plan to touch this food and water; after all, one should always leave oneself a way out.

"Mr. Jiang," Cheng Yan pondered for a while, but couldn't help asking, "Excuse me, are you Dr. Jiang, the one who published that paper on gene sequences and viruses?"

When he first heard the name Jiang Shi'an, he was stunned for a moment. He seemed to have heard his mentor mention this name last year.

"Oh, it's me," Jiang Shi'an replied casually.

"What's going on?" Song Jinhe asked, seeing Cheng Yan's agitated expression, as he had even stopped writing the supply list.

"!!! You don't know, he got his first doctoral degree at 18, published that paper at 21, got his second doctoral degree, and then we lost contact with him. How did you meet him?"

"That's how we met." Song Jinhe had long suspected that Jiang Shi'an's past identity was not simple, and that he was likely someone from some related organization.

Unexpectedly, he's a genius among academic high-achievers; even those who scored 25 on a physics test are envious.

"Mr. Jiang, you must protect yourself in the apocalypse!" Cheng Yan said solemnly.

Song Jinhe was silent for a moment, then sighed, "Don't worry, he can protect himself much better than you can."

Cheng Yan probably had her eyes clouded by some kind of filter. Everyone else was running away, but someone who could wander around the city alone with a sniper rifle couldn't be the weak former researcher that Cheng Yan thought he was.

In terms of survival skills, they are much stronger than them.

But how could someone who studies genes have professional firearms training and such amazing survival skills?

Song Jinhe didn't probe into these matters further. Everyone has their secrets, and as long as they are reliable during the team formation, that's fine.
