Chapter 121 Underground Parking Lot
Chapter 121 Underground Parking Lot
The car stopped in front of the collapsed wall, and zombies rolled over like dumplings falling into a pot, crashing onto the hood with a thud, rotting flesh flying everywhere. Those whose bodies looked like mummies stretched out their hands and jumped over first.
Song Jinhe took a step back; she needed to conserve her strength, and others needed to clear this area.
After dealing with the dozen or so zombies that escaped, the real challenge is what's inside.
The road was completely blocked, and the group could only pass through the fallen building materials and airplane wreckage. If they were not careful, the sharp steel bars and iron pieces would pierce their bodies.
Even more difficult are the zombies whose bodies are pierced by steel bars, who wake up upon smelling human scent and struggle and scream wildly.
The one in front had half its face sliced off and its lower body crushed into a paper-thin shape, yet it was still yelling at them. As its upper body moved, black blood and rotten flesh 'whooshed' off.
You could say they're willing to go to any lengths just to earn a living; they're incredibly dedicated.
They didn't clear out all the zombies; they had to leave some for the people who came later.
Song Jinhe looked at the half-destroyed plane over there. Its original color had been covered by dust, bloodstains and rust. Even in the daytime, the once luxurious hotel exuded a gloomy and dilapidated feeling.
"The hotel entrance is blocked by the collapsed building; we can't get in," Qi Sixing said.
"This way, go to the underground parking lot," Song Jinhe pointed.
The buildings were so badly damaged that many areas were impassable, and we had to find our way as we went.
She wasn't worried about the people behind her falling behind; the zombie corpses on the road would guide them.
Song Jinhe led her companions into the parking lot, clearing out zombies as they retreated, moving quickly and quietly throughout the entire process.
Apart from the light shining through the gaps in the collapsed walls, there was no other light source. They couldn't even see their own people's faces clearly, and the parked cars and zombies were just black shadows.
They could clearly hear their own breathing and heartbeat; one wrong step would alert all the lurking zombies, and they would be trapped.
Besides human remains, there were many scattered debris on the ground, so one had to be extremely careful with every step.
They stood between the two vehicles, holding their breath as they watched the zombie suddenly move and walk past. They remained silent for a long time until Song Jinhe waved to signal them to hurry up and leave.
This zombie is wearing a helmet and riot gear, which is troublesome. The environment here is absolutely terrible, and they don't have the ability to search for it for the time being.
There was an exit next to the half-collapsed wall. The fluorescent safety exit sign on the wall was no longer lit, and the dark stairwell entrance was very conspicuous in the eyes of those accustomed to the environment.
Song Jinhe turned her eyes upwards, and with a serious expression, pulled Qi Sixing back, gesturing for him to look up.
He died there.
Qi Sixing didn't see it clearly at first, but after taking a closer look, he saw the 'corpse' lying on the pipe.
Good heavens, there are four or five of them!
As you walk down to the bottom, a zombie suddenly falls from the sky and bites you. Just thinking about it is disgusting.
Song Jinhe led them through another entrance on the opposite side, leaving the parking lot and arriving directly at the lobby on the first floor. Only then did the feeling of intense tension and oppression disappear.
There were no zombies in the lobby, only a few corpses that had been eaten down to bones. The dried flesh and blood stuck to them created a strong visual impact when placed next to the once luxurious but now dilapidated decor.
“That plane was probably one of the last vehicles to operate during the zombie outbreak.” Jiang Shi’an looked away. “The zombies we just saw were from the rescue team.”
"Those who can afford to board this plane are not ordinary rich people, but there was still an accident halfway through." Song Jinhe casually rummaged through the front desk and couldn't even find a bottle of water, but she found two band-aids.
She once looked helplessly at the goods in the entire mall, lamenting the limited space. Now, looking at the empty half of the space and the hotel lobby, she sighed deeply.
When the disaster struck, the lobby was bustling with people. The complimentary bottled water at the front desk was gone, so they had to search the restaurant, guest rooms, and storage rooms. "This place is so big, it would take at least two or three days to search it all. After dealing with the rest of the group, how about we clear one floor and find a safe place?" Song Jinhe asked for everyone's opinion.
“Okay, there should be a suitable spot on the side that is more intact,” Zhuang Ting said.
"Sister Jinhe, can your talent detect risks?" Qi Sixing asked curiously.
That's how it was in the ancient village; the road she led never caused a rollover. And it was the same inside the hotel, which they knew nothing about. So Qi Sixing followed her instructions without hesitation.
Follow Sister Jinhe and you can survive and get supplies!
"More or less," Song Jinhe said without denying it.
at the same time.
A group of burly men carrying weapons arrived at the underground parking lot. They followed the zombie corpses along the way and entered easily without any problems.
"These guys are really something, finding the entrance and breaking in so quickly." A voice, lowered to the level of only those nearby, rang out.
"Everyone face outwards, walk slowly, no rush," the middle-aged man in the lead whispered. "These people are very cunning, be careful they don't set an ambush."
They weren't stupid. Although these people seemed to be in dire straits and had abandoned their car to escape, they had already experienced the other party's style of doing things, so how could they be completely unprepared?
The burly man pulled out two cold fireworks, swung his arm and threw them as far as possible. The slight impact and the flash of light instantly attracted the surrounding zombies.
"There are two exits ahead," the scout reported back. "The one on the left is closer."
"A few people go over and take a look," the leader ordered.
The team on this side was equally efficient; they split into two groups to check from both sides.
Suddenly, a faint hissing sound came from above. The man, gripping his weapon in his right hand, looked up.
The next second, a humanoid object crashed down, followed by a mouth filled with a putrid stench.
"Aaaaah!" The man screamed as he kicked the zombie away, blood gushing from his neck.
A second zombie jumped down and grabbed him from behind, tearing at him.
After a brief moment of stunned silence, his companions swung their weapons and stepped forward to help him clear out the zombies. Under normal circumstances, a few zombies would have been no problem at all.
However, the smell of blood and screams caused all the zombies in the underground parking lot to turn around.
"No! Help me! Help me!" the man shouted to his companions who were about to leave, clutching his bleeding wound.
His companions simply watched him as he was about to be surrounded and devoured by zombies, shook their heads, and then left without hesitation.
"There are zombies on the overhead pipes over there, and Wei has been bitten!"
"Hurry! Head to the other exit."
A piercing scream echoed in the dark underground as the remaining people rushed to the opposite exit.
"Was this something those few guys did?" someone asked.
The leader shook his head. "How could they possibly put the zombies up there in advance? Is anyone even human enough to do that?"
These people were either lucky, or they spotted zombies there but didn't go that way.
As the group entered the stairwell, no one could see that beside the lifeless corpse being devoured by zombies, a thin, long, wriggling thing slowly emerged.
