Chapter 104 Thunder 1
“I know.” Song Jinhe nodded and stepped forward. “Psychological control, or seduction?”

Wow, they've been hiding it well.

"how about you?"

Meng Yuyao glanced warily at the knife pressed against her neck and slowly backed away.

"I'm just an ordinary person." Song Jinhe smiled, looking directly into her eyes. "We agreed to stay out of each other's way, isn't this inappropriate?"

"Now I know how you managed to get so many supplies with such a small number of people."

Meng Yuyao seemed to be talking to herself, a smile playing on her lips as she looked at Jiang Shi'an.

I used to think that no cat is immune to temptation, and that most men would only half-heartedly comply, thinking they could control her, but in the end, they were the ones who were controlled by her.

His talent was useless to him.

He's far more capable than those good-for-nothings. This man's mental defenses and willpower are incredibly strong. This is the first time she's failed so thoroughly. She's really taken a man this strong to heart.

Meng Yuyao smiled, turned and left.

"What just happened?" Song Jinhe shook the water off her hands.

Although her expression didn't change, her eyes were different. When she came out and saw that scene, she was completely stunned.

I felt like I'd been betrayed, and my chest felt tight.

Having thrown so many Molotov cocktails, she was used to it. She almost threw the water bottle in her hand to stop the other person from rushing into her arms. But she realized that the other person was using their talent, so she couldn't act impulsively, lest she fall into their trap.

He behaved quite well and was not tempted.

"She suddenly came over, said a few words, something about not doing well there and wanting to come to our side," Jiang Shi'an said, his lips slightly pursed, explaining everything.

"How did you respond?"

Jiang Shi'an looked at Song Jinhe's slightly furrowed brows and smiled faintly, "I didn't reply."

"Then it's what you see, she tries to control me with her talent."

Good-looking people always attract attention, and those who are both good-looking and talented are even rarer in the apocalypse.

Seeing Song Jinhe about to leave, Jiang Shi'an's expression shifted slightly. He reached out and pulled her into his arms. "Did I do something wrong?"

"It seems not." Song Jinhe shook her head, reached out and hugged him, and smiled, "But I was a little unhappy when I first saw it, but I'm fine now, so I decided to go back and eat something."

"If I ever make you feel uncomfortable in the future, you must tell me," Jiang Shi'an said softly.

He had never been in a relationship before.

He had never experienced feelings of gain and loss before, perhaps it was when he saw the overturned bus and realized that he might lose it.

"Okay, sure." Song Jinhe pushed him into the RV. "It's time to rest. It's your turn to drive tomorrow morning."

Just as she stepped onto the steps, a hot breath landed on her lips and lingered for a long time before leaving.

It was too hot, so they stopped keeping watch outside and stayed on the second floor of the RV.

The terrace has a great view, and Song Jinhe can simply close the terrace and open one curtain.

"How did it go?" Su Lan opened the car door and looked at Meng Yuyao, whose face didn't look too good. She already knew the result.

“He wasn’t affected,” Meng Yuyao said softly, touching her neck. “He’s impervious to both soft and hard tactics; he’s truly determined to kill.” She was always cautious and never used her talent to win over men directly. Instead, she took things slowly, step by step, to avoid arousing their suspicion.

But tonight, showing weakness didn't work. She used her talent to forcefully control him, and in that less than a second, he didn't even see her in his eyes.

"If it weren't for your sake, I probably wouldn't have been able to come back so easily today." Meng Yuyao habitually used a soft, weak tone.
“That woman, she saw through my talent at a glance. There is a woman here so close that I feel threatened.”

"What did you say?" Su Lan narrowed her eyes. "She can tell."

He only realized that Meng Yuyao was a gifted individual after he had become too engrossed in his studies.

Meng Yuyao's practical combat skills are not strong, but her talent can arouse men's desires, making them willing to risk their lives to protect her.

She survived in the upscale apartment in Yuecheng thanks to her talent.

The people she takes advantage of are completely unaware of it.

“Yes, but she doesn’t seem to have the same talent as me.” Meng Yuyao smiled.

If they had the same talent, she would have no choice but to find a way to kill the other person.

The following day, the high temperatures persisted, and a water source was still not found.

The RV was too conspicuous, so it was impossible to keep a low profile. While we were resting, people came over asking for water.

"The RV has several water tanks. Could you please give us some water first? There will be water when we reach that lake. We really can't hold on any longer."

"One bag of instant noodles for one bottle of water," Song Jinhe offered. "Or you can exchange it for other food. We don't have much water either; the RV only has one water tank with drinkable water in it."

They had no shortage of water; they found several boxes at the service area and one or two more scattered in cars along the way. The water supply in the RV was uninterrupted because of Jiang Shi'an.

Water is now a major resource consumption item, and nobody knows if the next lake will have any water left.

They need to appear too generous, otherwise even more people will come asking for water. Song Jinhe is worried that Zhao Huiyun will spread the news that there is a water-type talent in their area.

When people are at their wits' end, they will do anything to survive.

In this kind of weather, you can't survive two days without drinking water.

"Aren't you supposed to be gifted individuals? You're demanding supplies even for a sip of water." The man, sweating profusely from the sun, looked at the RV and wished he could rush over immediately to find a good drink.

“Don’t gifted people need to drink water or eat? Gifted people aren’t Buddhas.” Qi Sixing took a deep breath. “If everyone comes to ask for a sip of water, will we die of thirst on the way? If we can exchange it, we will; if not, then so be it. We can only give you two bottles at most.”

Upon hearing that there were only two bottles, people immediately felt that even a bag of instant noodles was a good deal. The people next to them quickly took out two bags to exchange for water, afraid that someone else would get there first.

To avoid future trouble, Song Jinhe opened the water tank, which was almost empty, and showed it to them.

At this moment, Zhao Huiyun came out, but before she could speak, Song Jinhe spoke first.
"You don't want to delay the journey or complicate things."

As he spoke, he glanced at Su Lan.

Zhao Huiyun paused, her coldness fading, and said with a hint of sarcasm, "What are you worried about? I'm just here to tell you that we're getting ready to leave."

Song Jinhe put on a fake smile. They weren't the only ones with reservations; nobody wanted to start a fight in this awful weather.

At six o'clock in the evening, the sky suddenly darkened and a thunderclap boomed.

One deafening clap of thunder after another shook the entire desolate land and mountains.

Everyone was excited, thinking they had finally waited for a rain shower to stop, and they prepared to collect the rainwater in containers and take a shower.
