Chapter 18. Oscar-worthy Acting
In the blood-red, dimly lit forest, two figures swiftly swept across the treetops, one after the other, stirring up gusts of wind and causing unidentified birds to take flight in fright.

rustling-

Bang! !

Xia Feng was struck in the back again and flew backward, breaking several thick tree branches in succession before crashing into a large depression in which the forest had been uprooted.

Thump, thump, thump—Amidst the tumbling and crashing, the crystal pocket watch hanging on her chest was lifted into the air, then shattered into pieces with a bang, and a yellowed old photograph slowly drifted down.

"Ptooey, ptooey, ptooey!" Xia Feng struggled to get up, spitting out the dirt in his mouth. He caught the photo, carefully stuffed it into his inner clothes, and then squinted as he looked up.

The bald, burly man stood on the edge of the depression, looking down from above.

"Heh heh~ Kid, that's the most dangerous area ahead. Where can you run to then?"

Looking at the burly man's arrogant and unhurried demeanor, Xia Feng inexplicably thought of Han Xin, who used to frantically dance back to the city while circling Lu Ban. Hmm, he used to like playing that trick with Han Xin too; it was really despicable.

"Fine, bald guy, I'm not running away either." Xia Feng flicked his long sword and beckoned to the bald giant with his finger, "Zuo Zuo, come here."

"You're courting death!!" The bald, burly man's face turned cold. Before he finished speaking, he was already in front of Xia Feng. Clang—the metal clashed with a piercing sound, and the explosion of fire created layers of scorching shockwaves that directly sent Xia Feng flying.

"Pfft—" Blood spurted from his mouth into the air, but Xia Feng, spinning in the air, grinned and slashed the ground with his backhand, unleashing a three-tiered wave of energy. Boom!

Driven by the reaction force, he surged upwards into the sky, where a black hole, losing its gravitational pull, was gradually shrinking – the same black hole that had previously sucked Xia Feng into the Evil Dragon Forbidden Zone!
Before rushing into the black hole, Xia Feng casually flicked his middle finger in a friendly gesture.

The bald, burly man smiled faintly, took a step, and flew straight towards the black hole. It was just a black hole disaster; did this kid think he could escape by running into it? How naive.

In the blink of an eye, we entered a world of heavy snowfall. It was already night, and the fog was so thick that we couldn't see anything in the distance.

But the bald, burly man instantly sensed an unusually high concentration of evil energy in the area, guessing that he had run into a heavily evil zone.

He looked around and noticed that the black-haired youth in the snow seemed to panic when he saw him coming in. He then turned around and continued to run away, even stumbling and nearly falling flat on his face.

The bald, burly man chuckled mockingly, deciding to finish the fight quickly. "This place is no place to linger, kid, I'm not playing with you anymore!"

As he spoke, he unleashed his ultimate move, white shockwaves spreading from his feet, his eyes turning bloodshot. Whoosh—

The snow falling in the air instantly dispersed, forming a boundary between the upper and lower layers. The burly man in the mink coat was like an arrow released from a bow, and in the blink of an eye, he punched the black-haired youth who was scrambling and fleeing in panic—ten meters behind him.
Xia Feng noticed the commotion and slowly rolled over. The burly man's body, devoid of its soul, slid past him face down due to inertia, plunging across nearly a hundred meters of snow like a mop.

Seeing this, Xia Feng calmly clapped his hands, stood up, and wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. "I finally managed to trick you into coming in. It was such a hard job of acting."

He carefully recalled his acting just now: panic, terror, despair and helplessness in the face of death, even falling into the snow repeatedly in his panic, tumbling and crawling, and only running five meters in the last five seconds.

With such superb acting skills, winning an Oscar wouldn't be an exaggeration, would it?

"Help—help me!"

Suddenly, a hoarse and weak cry for help came from above. Xia Feng looked up and saw countless terrifying black mists gathering around the twisted spirit, like a pack of wolves tearing apart a baby rabbit.

The spirit, its face contorted in agony, desperately reached out to Xia Feng, crying, "Save me!!"

"As expected of a second-tier expert, I can actually hear him speaking in his spirit form." Xia Feng said thoughtfully.

"The Black Moon Church! The Black Moon Church is the one that sent me to kill you!"

The black mist engulfed his neck, leaving only his head exposed. He frantically stretched out his misty hands towards Xia Feng, desperately roaring, "Save me! I can help you kill them!"

The bald, burly man was filled with fear and anger. He was a second-tier spiritual master, a powerful expert who could even fight a third-tier spiritual master for several rounds, yet he had been tricked by a mere brat!

He couldn't understand what was going on with this godforsaken place, or how that kid surnamed Xia had managed to escape unscathed!

But regardless, since Xia Feng can survive in this godforsaken place, there must be a way to save him.

In short, first give in, then kill this son of a bitch!
"You said the Black Moon Church sent you?" Xia Feng asked doubtfully. "Who in the Black Moon Church?" Who knows who it is? The bald, burly man was anxious. The mysterious person was wearing a mask at the time, so it was impossible to find out his identity. He had only deduced the identity of the Black Moon Church based on his years of mission experience, and that was all he could do.

"Save me first! Save me and I'll tell you, really! I swear to the Star God!" Black mist spread past his nose as he mumbled incoherently, his voice growing weaker as he spoke, "Xia Feng, save me."

Xia Feng looked up at his desperate, pleading eyes and nodded thoughtfully: "I see. It seems you don't know exactly who it is either."

“I know.” The bald, burly man stared wide-eyed, his mouth agape.

"No, if I say you don't know, then you don't know."

"!!! Xia—" The last eye that was still visible was filled with rage and regret for taking on this damn mission. Black mist engulfed his eye. "No!!!"

tear-

The black mist devoured the spirits, leaving the world empty.

*
"Ten hours."

Wei Shutong glanced at his watch, expressionless. "The longest in history, Acting President Zhao, aren't you going to send someone in to check on the situation?"

“No need.” Zhao Jie waved his hand and flicked the sleeve of his martial arts robe, saying coldly, “I know my disciple’s temperament. He rarely comes out of the Evil Dragon Forest.”

"I reckon he's wandering around looking for treasure right now. He'll come out when he can't withstand the corruption of the evil force anymore."

As they were talking, they could faintly hear a rustling sound coming from ahead.

The two looked up at the same time, and Zhao Jie grinned: "Old Wei, it's time for you to transfer the money."

Wei Shutong, leaning on his cane with his back straight, was about to say something with his eyes slightly lowered when he suddenly froze, staring in astonishment at the black-haired figure that jumped out of the jungle in front of him.

He tried his best to suppress the slight twitching at the corner of his mouth and said in a low voice, "Is that so? Why don't you open your eyes wider and take a closer look, Mr. Zhao?"

"."

Even without Wei Shutong's words, Zhao Jie's mocking smile froze as soon as it appeared, because the figure walking out in the distance was completely different from what he had expected.

A black-haired youth, wearing a tattered trench coat, his face covered in blood and grinning with a set of bright white teeth, carried a knife on his shoulder, which came into view deep in his eyes.

"Xia Feng?"

Zhao Jie's eyes, marked with a fierce scar, flashed with surprise and doubt. He narrowed his eyes slightly, puzzled. How could this be?

Wei Shutong, leaning on his cane, stepped forward and casually patted Zhao Jie on the shoulder as he passed by, saying in a nonchalant tone, "Acting President Zhao, if your eyesight is bad, you can go to the hospital to make an appointment. Of course, if you are experiencing hallucinations, you can come directly to me, and I will treat you for free."

Zhao Jie: "."

“My two commanders, this is the fruit of life you requested.”

Xia Feng tossed the fruit over, "So this will end the match, right?"

Zhao Jie caught the Life Fruit, glanced at it, and then looked up: "Where's Qi Xiao? Did you kill him?"

"Yeah, otherwise what?" Xia Feng replied casually, shrugging.

"This is impossible!" Zhao Jie's gaze turned icy, and the terrifying pressure of a third-tier spiritual master instantly pressed down on Xia Feng. "Speak! How did you kill him?!"

clatter--

The middle-aged man in a suit with slicked-back hair, leaning on the ground, turned and blocked Xia Feng's path, his gaze indifferent: "Acting President Zhao! Are you openly violating the rules of the Six-Tailed Society?"
