Chapter 82: The Temple Knights (Seeking monthly votes!)
A soul core fell from the sky.

[Strange Soul Core, Tier 3, filled with chaotic power.]

After dealing with the strange phenomenon, Li Chunfeng looked back at the military camp and saw a huge ball of flesh wreaking havoc. His eyelids twitched violently.

There were no living people left in the military camp; a huge ball of flesh was crouching in the largest tent.

The ball of flesh was composed of many living dead, its body piled high with arms, heads, eyes, and mouths—a veritable paradise for those with trypophobia. Looking at it for too long, even his very soul was consumed by a sense of madness.

But under the suppression of the Heart Lamp, the madness was completely eradicated as soon as it emerged.

[Corpse: A Tier 3 Spectre. Twisted, chaotic, acidic, corrosive, and undead; feeds on corpses!]

"The mutation rate is too fast."

Without time to think further, Li Chunfeng deactivated his demonic transformation and released the Burning Lamp, which immediately manifested 108,000 clones to bombard the giant fleshy ball.

"vomit!"

The giant fleshy ball suddenly sprayed a stream of dark green acid into the sky, which then splashed down like raindrops.

"Bang bang bang!"

Each drop of slime struck the lantern demon's clone like a bullet, instantly emitting thick, dark green smoke and rapidly corroding even the psychic shield. The slime, landing on the lantern, also made a scorching sound, releasing large amounts of white smoke and a pungent odor.

With just this one strike, thousands of lantern ghost clones were destroyed.

But the fleshy ball was also surrounded by countless soul fireballs, and flames shot into the sky.

"Waaaah..." The ball of flesh let out a painful wail, its entire body was pulled out of the ground, and a huge foot grew out from underneath it as it hopped away.

The fact that it knew how to run away proves that its intelligence isn't low, but it's not exceptionally high either.

Li Chunfeng relentlessly pursued them, bombarding them continuously. Corpses kept blasting out of the fleshy ball, which lay sprawled about, blood and flesh flying everywhere.

In an instant, the size of the fleshy ball decreased dramatically.

"Waaah!" the fleshy ball howled angrily, but it was helpless against Li Chunfeng. It vomited acid several times, but the power was getting weaker and weaker, and there was nothing left to vomit in its stomach.

Finally, only one leg remained, still running tirelessly, as if it were truly immortal, and its wailing became extremely weak.

The lamp itself charged forward, unleashing a soul fireball.

"Oh!"

A fireball, larger than ever before, spun out and struck its single leg, shattering the fleshy ball completely.

"Soul Eater!"

Once a soul fire no smaller than the black cat was extracted, the seemingly immortal monstrous corpse was ultimately not truly immortal.

A soul core the size of a fist flew out and landed in my hand.

Another third-tier strange soul core.

Before anyone knew it, a thick fog had risen over the city, appearing even more eerie and sinister under the red moonlight.

Strange figures were everywhere in the city, and this was the first time Li Chunfeng had experienced such a perilous ordeal. After a moment's thought, he concealed his true form and used the lantern ghost to kill enemies everywhere.

The Lantern Ghost's use of Shadow Escape allows it to gain an aerial advantage, which is indeed more convenient than its fusion form.

He couldn't help but think to himself, "I'm only at the first level of the Abyss, and so many third-tier monsters have already appeared. Isn't that a bit too much?"

The blood-winged angel that covered half the sky earlier made it impossible for anyone to muster the slightest will to resist.

Fortunately, the Bloodwing Angel had already been restrained by the human powerhouses and lured out of the city; otherwise, who knows how many people would have been corrupted and mutated.

Li Chunfeng fought his way out of the military camp.

Main quest 2 was also completed without anyone noticing.

He regained his confidence. "As long as we don't run into any high-level monsters, the army of Burning Lamp's clones can still roam freely. As long as we hold out until dawn, the Red Moon Calamity will dissipate." It's a pity he couldn't find the Red-Nosed Instructor, and he doesn't know if the Red Moon Calamity will survive.

There are no such things as lantern ghosts in this world. Now, with red lanterns hanging high in the sky, they are unsurprisingly regarded as a kind of strange phenomenon.

Because these lantern ghost clones were so densely packed, covering the sky, any surviving people nearby who witnessed this scene quickly fled the area, not daring to linger.

The rest were all strange creatures, and Li Chunfeng didn't hold back, locking onto them and launching a barrage of attacks.

"what!"

A whirlwind of sword energy swept into the sky, catching hundreds of lantern ghost clones off guard and annihilating them with a single strike.

"Brush~"

Instantly, countless eyes turned to the swordsman below.

The man who had just been showing off suddenly trembled, but still stood in the way.

He was fully armored and wielded a holy sword; he was a temple knight. Now, alone with his sword, he stood across the street, his eyes blazing with fury. "Damn monster, if you want to pass, step over my dead body!"

The Temple Knights are the backbone of this world's fight against the supernatural, and a formal knight starts with the strength of the third tier.

The Calamity of the Red Moon, the Long Night Street.

The young knight, with a fearless attitude, confronted the swarm of lantern demons, creating a scene of profound tragedy.

If a painter were to record this scene, it might even become a masterpiece.

But the knight's trembling legs betrayed him; he was clearly terrified. Yet, despite facing such an unequal enemy, he never retreated a single step.

Li Chunfeng scanned the area with his divine sense and discovered that there were hundreds of children hidden inside the church behind him.

After a brief silence, the lantern ghost automatically moved away from him.

The Templar Knight was completely bewildered, not understanding what was happening. Why weren't the monsters attacking him? It wasn't until he saw Li Chunfeng emerge from the mist, a lantern ghost floating above his head, calmly walking past him, that he suddenly realized, "Sir... are you a sorcerer? Those... just now..."

Li Chunfeng nodded. "You did a good job. Keep protecting the children."

"Yes!"

The knight instinctively straightened his back and made a knightly salute by placing one hand on his chest.

Warlocks are equivalent to soul cultivators in the Earthly Realm. The laws of the Earthly Realm emphasize equality for all and that everyone is like a dragon. Whether a martial artist or a cultivator, status is earned through one's own strength.

In this world of the Crimson Moon, sorcerers hold a much higher status than cultivators of the Divine Soul. Sorcerers possess precious lineages, are mostly of noble birth, and are often local lords, each wielding great power.

In the Crimson Moon Calamity, warlocks can play a greater role than temple knights.

The knight looked on with envy. "Please be careful, sir. The front has fallen, and strange things are happening everywhere in the city."

Do you have a map of the city?

"Yes, please wait a moment, sir."

The knight rushed into the church and, a moment later, produced a parchment scroll.

After thanking him, Li Chunfeng disappeared into the dark red mist.

This map is a colored version, clearly marking all the buildings, roads, and landmarks throughout the city.

With no high-level monsters present, Li Chunfeng simply pushed his way along the main road, not caring what type of monster it was, using numbers to fight against fewer, and abandoning all martial ethics.

Occasionally, we encounter third-tier anomalies, but the other second-tier and first-tier anomalies generally cannot last more than five seconds.

The strange soul cores are mostly useless, but the soul fire is extremely nourishing. Burning Lamp has already advanced two levels and entered the middle stage of the third tier.

[Burning Lamp]: Yaksha Level 5 (Tier 3)
Such power allows the phantom clones to maintain a third-tier level of strength. Over 100,000 third-tier clones—are you scared yet?
