Chapter 576 Surrounded by Enemies on All Sides and Bringing Prosperity on All Sides

Chapter 576 Besieged on All Sides and Bringing Prosperity

"Watching someone go from birth to death, from existence to non-existence, is an experience many people haven't had..."

Luo Tingzhu quickly changed the subject: "Even I didn't get to see Grandma one last time."

"I mean, the real last time we saw each other."

Fang Ziye had no such experience either, and tried hard to recall: "I had one when I was an intern. At the time, I was only focused on the rescue and didn't feel anything else."

"Now that I'm the attending physician for a dying patient, I'm helpless, and my feelings are quite complicated."

"It's not my fault, it's just that my abilities are limited." Fang Ziye remained calm.

The patient in this hand surgery group was forcibly admitted; his main purpose in coming here was to complete his final journey.

I can't say how dignified I am, I can only do my best to be dignified.

The topic was too heavy. Luo Tingzhu had originally intended to discuss with Fang Ziye the feelings of seeing patients off, but now she regretted it.

"Senior brother, has Teacher Yuan called you recently?" Luo Tingzhu changed her address.

“Yes, I call him almost every day. That’s good. I’m just afraid that my master won’t contact me and I’ll be left all alone, not knowing what he’s doing.”

"Of course, I've finally witnessed my master's connections! It was quite unexpected." Fang Ziye nodded and then asked with interest.

"Can you guess how extensive my mentor, Teacher Yuan Weihong's, network of connections is?"

Yuan Weihong was also recently appointed as an associate professor and associate chief physician. However, Yuan Weihong is not a particularly ordinary representative of the associate professor level. He belongs to the elite category.

Luo Tingzhu shook her head and said, "Senior brother, stop keeping me in suspense. I can't find a frame of reference, so I won't guess."

He then asked, "Senior brother, is the size of the clothes you gave my uncle correct?"

"How about Bosideng?"

"If it's too expensive, I'm afraid my uncle will think it's too expensive; if it's too cheap, I won't be able to sell it myself," Luo Tingzhu suggested softly.

"Okay, but don't buy anything too expensive. Even if you do buy it, cut off the tag."

"I'll reimburse you when the time comes," Fang Ziye answered the more crucial question first.

Then he said, "My master has quite a wide circle of friends. Currently, several teams have been brought in by my master, including but not limited to the Provincial People's Hospital, Union Hospital, and a young teacher from Xiangya Hospital."

"Of course, these are just some people I know; it's very difficult to ask for favors!"

"However, when problems arise, it's not too difficult if someone asks for help," Fang Ziye remarked.

Actually, if we're talking about connections, Fang Ziye currently has a wider network than Yuan Weihong, but Fang Ziye doesn't need to use it for the time being.

If one has to travel around to complete a research project, then the operation of the research group will be too tiring and insufficient to support Fang Ziye's future progress. The help of the current fellow students is more than enough.

Luo Tingzhu wasn't surprised; it's common for associate professors to have close friends.

"Senior brother? Aren't you being a bit too generous by pushing that personalized prosthesis design project out there?"

"Lan Tianluo told me, 'Senior brother, you can totally gather Professor Qi Qiaowen from Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Professor An Luming from Hunan Provincial People's Hospital, and professors of trauma surgery from Xiangya Hospital and Xiangya No. 2 Hospital to create a larger framework!'" Luo Tingzhu stood up and began hanging up her clothes.

She'll be staying here for a long time, so some wool coats and down jackets need to be hung up.

"There is no great significance in doing this. It is ultimately just the design of an individualized prosthetic model. This kind of project is too easy for others to replicate."

"This layout is not cost-effective in terms of input and output."

Fang Ziye smiled when he heard this: "Besides, as we move forward slowly, we should learn to be magnanimous. In the end, these are all research achievements of our Hubei Province Trauma Surgery Department."

"I don't need this one topic."

"And then there's the treatment of patients undergoing functional reconstruction surgery. Actually, I don't need to admit more patients like that to prove myself," Fang Ziye said frankly.

"For example, in the upper limb function reconstruction surgery and some sub-diseases that are being treated in the department, is it meaningful for me to compete with Professor Deng's group for first authorship of a paper?"

Luo Tingzhu continued hanging the clothes on the rack, planning to push them into the room later: "Senior Brother Wu Xuanqi is different from the other senior brothers in the department."

“He has his own foundation; I looked up his articles.”

"In terms of basic research areas, Senior Brother Wu Xuanqi has made outstanding progress in the LDH (lactate dehydrogenase) section in the field of osteochondroma."

"In terms of clinical research, Wu Xuanqi has profound expertise in the treatment of bone defects and complex pelvic fractures."

"He has also published quite a few articles."

"It's quite surprising that Wu Xuanqi was able to complete his project first in the HK2 direction, where Professor Yuan had an advantage!"

Luo Tingzhu continued, "Senior brother, is there something else you're hiding from me? Are the troubles you're facing actually more than just these?"

Luo Tingzhu's eyes were bright and alert; it was clear she was organizing and analyzing the various pieces of information she had gathered from Gu Yi.

At present, Luo Tingzhu knows for certain that Fang Ziye has three troublesome issues to resolve.

One is to preserve Yuan Weihong's outstanding young scientist research project and ensure its perfect completion; this is the foundation.

The second is the design system for personalized prosthesis 3D printing.

The third is treatment hedging for patients undergoing functional reconstruction surgery.

There seem to be institutions in China similar to Enshi Sanatorium that are competing with Enshi Sanatorium to perform similar surgeries, but whether Wu Xuanqi is involved is currently unknown.

"Senior Brother Gu is still not tight-lipped in some ways."

"But it's better for me."

"There are some, but it's not a big problem." Fang Ziye closed his laptop and came over to help hold up his clothes.

"It's a funding issue in the lab. I only realized this now. In fact, the 'project funding' related to the military region is relatively limited, at least the pie for the trauma surgery group is limited."

“After our sanatorium’s share of the pie got bigger, other places, such as research institutes, received relatively less funding.”

"Therefore, the source of this funding has not yet been secured!"

"The funding for my current research project comes from external funding sources provided by the sanatorium, not from direct government funding," Fang Ziye replied.

Luo Tingzhu paused slightly: "Dean Chen will also make up for the 20 million?"

“It’s been supplemented! Not a penny less, all of it is in the financial ledger of the experimental area within the sanatorium, and it’s relatively free funding, so I can just use my research results to pay it back.” Fang Ziye nodded.

The old Chinese medicine doctor Chen Song has quite a bit of courage.

A research grant of 20 million yuan is considered a major project even within the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and may even be the kind of funding typically reserved for super-major projects like the 863 Program.

Chen Guangbai was Chen Song's son, and he provided a considerable amount of subsidies to the sanatorium. Although 20 million was a lot, it wasn't something he couldn't afford.

“Senior brother, I feel that your mindset is becoming more and more stable.” Luo Tingzhu paused, her gaze shifting.

In his eyes, there was admiration and respect, but also heartache.

Luo Tingzhu knew about Fang Ziye's past. In the past, Fang Ziye would eat takeout with her in the stairwell outside the laboratory. He was carefree and only needed to take care of his future.

Now, Fang Ziye has many more burdens on his shoulders.

Moreover, without a teacher to guide Fang Ziye in his actions, he had to weigh everything around him on his own.

What she could do was offer advice and suggestions to Fang Ziye, and use her research background to arrange some things.

"A stable mindset has prerequisites. Look at me, for example. My current income is not low, my girlfriend is beautiful, gentle and sensible, and she doesn't ask for much in dowry."

"The house is almost bought, my parents have already gone to Wuhan to see it, the car has been paid for in full, the engagement is almost set, and the date for the wedding photos has been set."

Even if I fail, I have a way out.

"It's impossible for him to be unstable. In fact, Senior Brother Wu Xuanqi is quite stable. Even if there were some deviations in the hedging process of this project, he is still a professor of trauma surgery and still the person in charge of the trauma surgery department of Tongji Hospital."

"His abilities cannot be weakened."

"I feel the same way. It's just that if we don't distinguish between superior and inferior, we'll either divide the cake equally or eat the food from the same pot in a muddled way."

"This is not a good thing," Fang Ziye said.

"The prices of products sold locally and in other places will inevitably differ for companies in a province, at least in the field of medical devices."

"Volume-based procurement remains the same!" Fang Ziye said firmly.

Luo Tingzhu watched as he matured more and more, becoming more and more like a worldly-wise middle-aged man. She was somewhat happy, feeling that she had found a good support. This kind of boy could definitely protect her.

I also feel that time is like a millstone, smoothing out everyone's rough edges, or making them sharp and distinct.

Growth is never smooth sailing; it is accompanied by sacrifice, pain, struggle, melancholy, and reluctance...

As the year draws to a close, Fang Ziye remains as unassuming as an ordinary person, continuing his teaching classes on bone defect treatment at the sanatorium.

Continue performing surgeries, continue working in the lab, and continue working with the team!
Fang Ziye didn't even return to Wuhan, and he didn't even visit Yuan Weihong before the New Year after Yuan Weihong returned to China.

Soon, the Chinese New Year will arrive...

The house was quite lively because of Luo Tingzhu's arrival. Grandparents, uncles and aunts, maternal grandparents, maternal uncles and aunts, as well as cousins, all took turns coming to visit relatives.

In today's society, things aren't as particular as they used to be. For example, people don't visit each other's homes before the Lunar New Year. As long as the older generation is close enough, they can visit relatives before and after the Lunar New Year.

During the Chinese New Year, Fang Ziye carefully examined his mother Liang Xia's chin, fearing that she might laugh so hard that she would dislocate her jaw joint.

He held up his hand, had a physical exam, and then said, "Mom, I almost took my clothes off. I'm an orthopedic specialist, a professional!"

Liang Xia gave the mischievous Fang Ziye a whack: "Get out of here, you're acting like a complete idiot."

"Tingzhu, you need to keep a closer eye on him in the future, otherwise he'll be like a little monkey." In the rural hometown, many elderly people's thinking about children's growth is limited to finding a wife to keep them in check.

Luo Tingzhu smiled ingratiatingly, "My senior brother is much more mature than me; he should be the one in charge of me!"

“Auntie, you have to laugh in moderation, otherwise your jaw joint can easily dislocate and your chin won’t close properly,” Luo Tingzhu said, echoing her husband’s words.

Liang Xia was startled and quickly shut her mouth, then went to the mirror.

Fang Ziye then divided the peeled pumpkin seeds evenly among his father Fang Nan, mother Liang Xia, and Luo Tingzhu.

Everyone counted the number; each person had thirty-seven. The two extra pieces went into Fang Ziye's stomach.

The main strategy is to avoid offending anyone.

Fang Ziye's actions seemed like those of a child, which both Liang Xia and Fang Nan found distasteful, while Luo Tingzhu found them extremely cute.

After the New Year, Fang Ziye took Luo Tingzhu to visit relatives.

There's actually a certain etiquette involved. The two didn't have a standard engagement ceremony, so they only spent a day at each of their maternal and paternal grandparents' homes. After meeting their relatives, they explained that they planned to hold their wedding next year.

Her uncles and aunts all knew about Luo Tingzhu's family situation, so they didn't ask about her family's plans...

Fang Ziye is all grown up now, and there are many things he can help with. If the adults need to attend to certain formalities, they can help arrange those as well.

Since we're from different provinces, we're not familiar with the specific etiquette. If we need to ask someone, we'll have to arrange to go and ask the other person's elders in advance.

This matter can be left to Fang Ziye.

On the third day of the Lunar New Year, Fang Ziye and Luo Tingzhu drove away from their hometown and headed directly to Wuhan.

Starting from the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, Fang Ziye and Luo Tingzhu visited Professor Deng Yong, Professor Zeng Quanming, and Director Du Xinzhan of the Department of Orthopedics...

On the afternoon of the sixth day of the Lunar New Year, the two of them went to Yuan Weihong's neighborhood again with the gifts.

It's been a long time since we last saw Yuan Weihong, and his Mediterranean-style hairline has moved up a few centimeters.

When they arrived home, Xiao Jiu wasn't there, but his wife had returned early and was preparing dinner in the kitchen.

Luo Tingzhu changed her address and went straight into the kitchen after entering the room: "Master's wife, let me help you!"

Luo Tingzhu also knew that Fang Ziye probably had a lot to say to Yuan Weihong.

"Xiao Luo, take a rest. Your master and I have prepared everything in advance, just waiting to cook it..."

"Then I'll help wash a few side dishes," Luo Tingzhu said with a smile as she began to put on her apron.

……

Yuan Weihong did have something to discuss, so he didn't put on any airs of being a good family man!
After watching Fang Ziye brew the tea himself, he took his half-cold teacup and hurried toward the study.

"Ziye, perfect timing. I came to give you some instructions. Didn't I assign tasks during our meeting earlier?"

“I reckon you haven’t had time to work on your project yet. Here, give me these tasks. Your mentor has already found a few experts who can help me complete the experiments quickly.”

"How much have you done?" Yuan Weihong asked, opening the section of the project assigned by Fang Ziye.

Fang Ziye wasn't surprised at all by Yuan Weihong's proactive attitude.

Yuan Weihong is very proud!
He has always been proud, and if conditions permit, he hopes to take Fang Ziye under his wing for a longer period of time, never wanting to cause Fang Ziye any trouble.

Therefore, he will inevitably complete his tasks on time, in the required quantity, or even ahead of schedule and with increased quantity.

Fang Ziye shook his head: "Master, I haven't even had a chance to start any of the tasks you assigned me yet."

Fang Ziye had to replicate some of the tasks within the research group, but he didn't collect the data immediately because he also needed to leave room for interpretation, allowing Yuan Weihong to have as much involvement as possible.

Therefore, he did not do any of the tasks assigned to him by Yuan Weihong, and Fang Ziye had already started all the tasks that were not assigned to him or belonged to anyone else in the research group.

Yuan Weihong was taken aback; Fang Ziye's slacking off was even worse than he had anticipated. However, Yuan Weihong still shook his head and said, "It's alright. Your master got this research project because..."

Fang Ziye didn't waste any time and presented Yuan Weihong with some of the results he had already produced, as well as the experimental plan package.

It was a folder, and the files inside were quite large.

Yuan Weihong paused for a moment, looked at Fang Ziye who was not speaking, and opened one of the documents, "Osteosarcoma HK2"!
Two documents were generated.

"Upstream!"

"Downstream!"

Yuan Weihong glanced at Fang Ziye.

Then I clicked on the upstream link.

“miR143-hk2” “miR125a/b-hk2”

"miR155-hk2"

“miR-216a-5p-hk2”

"miR-185-hk2..."

There are more than twenty in total.

Yuan Weihong felt a bit confused, as if his brain had been hit by a heavy hammer, and stars seemed to be flying around in front of him.

Even his tongue couldn't straighten out as he said, "Are you trying to kill yourself by biting when you're all sticky?"

"Is it similar below too? (Yes)"

Fang Ziye nodded: "Master, being a servant is no fun. Besides the regular ones, I'm doing all sorts of other things now."

"Take your time."

Yuan Weihong wasn't stupid; he realized that Fang Ziye was going to conduct a sweeping, extermination-style study of osteosarcoma and the HK2 pathway, targeting existing miRNAs.

"You have that much money?" Yuan Weihong asked the crucial question.

Fang Ziye said, "Let's use the same old trick again and split it up."

“My current funding is from my own funds. As long as I publish research findings, the sanatorium won’t say that I’m wrong for saving money, nor will it affect the funding allocation for other research groups.”

If you split the National Natural Science Foundation of China's funds, others will suspect you of embezzlement, but the sanatorium will not.

It's not a particularly official research grant-granting body; as long as you have results, they'll recognize them.

"You did everything except what I told you not to do?"

"Do you know how many people you're going to kill?" Yuan Weihong asked.

Fang Ziye shook his head: "I haven't looked into it. You don't need to know these things to do research. I don't serve as a reviewer for general projects or provincial science foundations. I haven't even seen a single project proposal."

"Nobody can save me!"

Fang Ziye continued, "And another thing, Master, we have natural animal models with HK2 knockout that we can use for testing, which can stretch the workload several times over!"

Fang Ziye spoke in a reporting tone to Yuan Weihong, but to Yuan Weihong, it sounded like Fang Ziye was revealing a massive, circular sword spanning over 40,000 kilometers.

Within the range of HK2, research groups worldwide are all within its range.

Let's all stop trying to access the osteosarcoma pathway.

"And what about these below?" Yuan Weihong asked again.

“It’s related to sugar metabolism,” Fang Ziye replied.

Fang Ziye decided to expand the scope even further, planning to also cover the glucose metabolism of osteosarcoma.

Yuan Weihong had considered ways to retaliate, but he never imagined such a devastating and indiscriminate counterattack!

"How much do you expect this to cost?" Yuan Weihong rubbed his bald spot, then rubbed a strand of hair down, doing it too hard.

However, Yuan Weihong is not feeling any pain at the moment.

"We haven't made any estimates yet."

“Everyone does it this way anyway,” Fang Ziye replied calmly.

"How much did you do?" Yuan Weihong asked again.

“We’ve done some of it, but it’s not finished yet. It’s estimated that it will take several years to complete all of this. As for the HK2 related projects, it should be done in about five or six months,” Fang Ziye replied.

"Let's go out..." Yuan Weihong gestured to Fang Ziye, inviting him to leave.

You, Fang Ziye, a wandering swordsman, should be called "One Leaf of the North Sea"!

You are the true Beihai Leaf, you drift much further than me!

Yuan Weihong could hardly imagine how many people Fang Ziye would offend with his actions!

It's not about offending anyone, but how many people will jump up and curse me in the end, cursing me day and night!

Fang Ziye didn't move, but just smiled and looked at his mentor.

Yuan Weihong then cautiously asked, "Won't it affect your own development?"

Fang Ziye smiled and shrugged his shoulders: "Master, the results of basic research projects are never a burden!"

If anyone tells you that the results of a basic research project are just a "mediocre resume," just slap them across the face. Don't even think about it; they're definitely trying to scam you!

"Go to hell!" Yuan Weihong blurted out a curse, but stopped himself on the second to last syllable.

Then, reaching out to comfort her, he said seriously, "Please forgive your teacher for speaking without thinking!"

Yuan Weihong did complain, but what he saw now was not that he couldn't finish his project, but that the National Natural Science Foundation of China was forcibly assigning him a major project such as the Outstanding Youth Science Fund project or the 863 Program, which he, Yuan Weihong, could not refuse.

No one from Wuhan University, Zhongnan Hospital, or the Research Department would agree to let Yuan Weihong back down in this situation!
Fang Ziye then smiled and said, "Master, this is actually a demonstrative teaching template for providing a pathway for tumor research in the future, and its significance and impact are far-reaching."

"No matter how much the teachers who are researching this pathway criticize me now, my junior brothers after me will be very grateful to me!" Fang Ziye thought shrewdly.

Although it's unknown whether these articles will be criticized after publication, they should serve as exemplary teaching for others who subsequently study the pathways of osteosarcoma.

I wonder if this will generate knowledge points. If it does, then at least half of the junior orthopedic surgeons will be able to give Fang Ziye some 'tribute' without losing anything!

Spending a few years doing something like this is definitely worthwhile!

Moreover, Fang Ziye has a follow-up discovery: a newly discovered miRNA that is currently unique to osteosarcoma. This could become a hallmark product of osteosarcoma and have profound significance for the early diagnosis of osteosarcoma.

If this miRNA is used properly, Fang Ziye could even use it to develop a drug specifically for chemotherapy of osteosarcoma!
If this thing comes out, Fang Ziye doesn't know if he will be regarded by future generations as the father of osteosarcoma.

Of course, even without these follow-ups, Fang Ziye's mastery of the HK2 pathway in osteosarcoma glucose metabolism will undoubtedly be a milestone in osteosarcoma research.

It may not be the end, but it is definitely the beginning!
"Let's go, let's get out of here, brother." Yuan Weihong started massaging Fang Ziye's shoulders.

Yuan Weihong had no doubt about Fang Ziye's abilities.

A prodigy who produced over eighty basic scientific research projects in four months—if he were to compete with anyone else, it would be a free win, unless Wu Xuanqi could find fifty top-tier competitors to challenge Fang Ziye.

Fang Ziye isn't asking anyone else for help; we can split the profits 50/50!

There's no way around it; Fang Ziye's operational skills are simply too outstanding in the field of basic scientific research.

Fang Ziye stopped Yuan Weihong, saying, "Master, please don't! Take a look at the contents of my other folder; this is the real treasure."

"What?" Yuan Weihong immediately sensed something was wrong.

Fang Ziye took the initiative to open a folder containing some plans and conjectures.

"1. Considerations on the design of culture dishes specifically for osteosarcoma."

"Osteosarcoma is an abnormal proliferation of bone. In previous studies, osteosarcoma has always been cultured in petri dishes as a non-hard tumor."

"The simulated ecosystem is not as good as the living environment of primary osteosarcoma."

"Osteosarcoma is composed of bone cells. Therefore, it is recommended to modify the culture dishes for osteosarcoma into porous culture dishes in the form of cancellous bone and compact bone."

"2. A hypothesis about the growth pattern of osteosarcoma in relation to antegrade and retrograde blood flow."

"Background: It is well known that tumor growth requires blood supply, but current research on tumor growth preferences focuses on the blood supply source and the blood flow destination. There is currently no relevant research. The author speculates that the direction and flow of blood supply may also affect tumor growth and transplantation. Therefore, the following research plan was designed..."

"By using self-circulating culture medium to simulate human blood, and through different osteosarcoma tumor cell lines, we can verify the 'blood-welcoming' and 'blood-transporting' growth patterns of osteosarcoma in the human body. This may have some guiding significance for the interventional approach in clinical treatment of tumors."

"3.……"

Yuan Weihong didn't look any further; he just noticed that he had given his bald patch a good whack!
With a loud thud, it was as crisp as a watermelon.

"Fang Ziye, what exactly are you?"

"Aren't the existing basic experimental equipment and procedures enough for you to experiment with?" Yuan Weihong asked.

As we all know, to do a good job, one must first have the right tools.

The development of mechanization initially benefited from the extraction and transformation of energy resources.

Breakthroughs in new basic scientific research theories inevitably require new theories and new instruments for intervention.

Fang Ziye, on the other hand, believes that existing research methods are no longer sufficient for his ambitious goals. He wants to improve some of the equipment used in basic scientific research, as well as create original experimental methods to provide more standardized answers to questions about the migration and invasiveness of tumors.

Fang Ziye felt a pang of sympathy as he watched Yuan Weihong pound his head repeatedly. He reached out and touched it, asking, "Does it hurt, Master?"

Yuan Weihong clenched his fist, looking at Fang Ziye who was laughing at him, his eyes already showing the urge to strangle Fang Ziye!
This teacher has absolutely no professional ethics.

The main point is, who can remain calm in front of you, Fang Ziye?

Fang Ziye's ideas are not Jie Han's ideas; they are all traceable and can be genuinely developed.

One can imagine how "noble" it would be if future basic research in orthopedics could break away from the routine steps of general basic research and have its own unique instruments.

As we all know, the more fundamental something is, the harder it is to shake...

Fang Ziye quickly closed his folder: "Master, let's stop reading, let's go out!"

Fang Ziye felt that if he showed Yuan Weihong more things, he might end up with another master who was 'brain-dead'.

Is Yuan Weihong this decisive and swift when he takes action against himself?

Fang Ziye unplugged the USB drive, looked at Yuan Weihong with an innocent and harmless expression, his gaze calm and still as a deep well.

Remain calm and composed, never flustered.

"What a tragedy!"

“Fang Ziye, you’re committing a heinous crime!” Yuan Weihong pointed at Fang Ziye, his lips trembling.

Fang Ziye patted Yuan Weihong on the shoulder: "Master, keep your voice down. If you speak any louder, your wife and Tingzhu will hear you."

"I've only shown you these things. Aren't the conclusions of excellent young research projects incredibly boring?"

"Let's not just think about finishing the project; let's push ourselves further towards the Outstanding Young Scientists Fund project. Let's set a small goal first: to get a Young Changjiang Scholar award..."

……

Yuan Weihong and Fang Ziye came out of the study.

After coming out, Fang Ziye noticed that Yuan Weihong's forehead was a little red, and he estimated that he had used at least seven or eight tenths of his strength in that slap.

The two of them tacitly avoided mentioning what had just happened and instead chatted and laughed about Fang Ziye and Luo Tingzhu's marriage.

Yuan Weihong lit a cigarette.

The moment the lighter went off, the teacher's wife came out of the kitchen with a knife in her hand.

"Xiao Jiu isn't here, Ziye doesn't mind, Tingzhu, you don't mind either, right?" Yuan Weihong had a strong survival instinct.

Upon hearing this, the teacher's wife slowly turned around and went back, still giving Yuan Weihong face.

During the meal, Yuan Weihong remained completely calm and even had a few drinks with Fang Ziye.

While drinking, Yuan Weihong unusually sang a couple of lines.

"They look like a pair of lovebirds..."

"What's wrong with you?" The teacher's wife kicked Yuan Weihong.

Yuan Weihong exclaimed, "Happy, joyful, blissful, fulfilled, life is peaceful!"

Both the teacher's wife and Luo Tingzhu looked at Fang Ziye, especially the teacher's wife, whose gaze became somewhat amused.

Fang Ziye and Luo Tingzhu were not drunk, but Yuan Weihong got himself drunk.

However, Yuan Weihong had excellent drinking manners; once he was drunk, he would fall into a deep sleep.

The car was parked in the neighborhood where Master lived. Luo Tingzhu asked, "Senior brother, what exactly did you show Teacher Yuan? Why is he acting so strangely?"

Fang Ziye glanced at Luo Tingzhu and said, "It's a secret."

"A secret weapon."

"You can't even tell me if I give it to you?" Luo Tingzhu pouted, her eyes full of anticipation.

“I can tell you, but it’s a long story. Let’s talk about it slowly when we get back,” Fang Ziye said.

Luo Tingzhu also felt that the car was not a good environment for private conversations.

That evening, Luo Tingzhu and Fang Ziye had an extra meal. They sat on the balcony at home, lit candles, and Fang Ziye poured himself some red wine. Luo Tingzhu also drank about an ounce.

Her cheeks were rosy.

The barbecue and hot pot dishes on the table were left in ruins, but the two of them didn't clean them up. Instead, they sat on the sofa on the balcony, snuggling together and watching the night view of Han City.

Luo Tingzhu's voice was clear and crisp. She leaned on Fang Ziye's shoulder and said, "Senior brother, I've tried my best. I think I'm a little better than my peers, but I still can't help you."

"Can you help me?"

"Your voice is beautiful, and you're good-looking..."

Luo Tingzhu said, "Then wouldn't I become just a pretty face?"

“Your expertise in your field is quite high; I can’t compare to you,” Fang Ziye said.

"Senior brother, life is actually beautiful, even more beautiful than poetry." Luo Tingzhu murmured, her voice filled with emotion.

Fang Ziye's appearance wove a reliable dream for her.

Luo Tingzhu was glad that she had started out with Fang Ziye, rather than just meeting him by chance along the way.
