Chapter 17: The Teachers' Group of Three

Chapter 17 A Teacher's Day with Three People (Please add to your favorites and read on!)

"Senior brother, the bouquet has been bought." Fang Ziye carefully packed the carved tofu into a gift box before his junior brother Jie Han sent him a message.

Fang Ziye then typed a message with one hand and asked, "Send the invoice over."

"Senior brother, the bouquet didn't cost much, so let's not split the bill?" Jie Han replied cautiously.

"Send the invoice over. That's the rule. When giving gifts for Teacher's Day, we split the bill." Fang Ziye, the senior student, replied in a serious tone.

The three of them had just formed a group. For the first two Teacher's Days, Fang Ziye only gave the teacher a gift and didn't have a private meal together. It was only after Jie Han came that the teacher, Yuan Weihong, felt comfortable gathering the students together in advance to celebrate Teacher's Day.

The process should naturally be more formal so that everyone feels involved.

Jie Han then sent over the invoice.

Bouquets are more expensive as Teacher's Day approaches, but it's still not too bad, only a little over a hundred yuan, which isn't outrageous.

Fang Ziye said, "The place Master booked is in Wanda Plaza near Han Street. You can find it, right? Just search for it."

After replying, Fang Ziye even shared the map location with his junior brother.

"Senior brother, I found it, I've been there." Jie Han quickly replied.

……

Around 5 p.m., Fang Ziye and Jie Han arrived at the private room first. After Jie Han put down the exquisite bouquet, he carefully opened the two gifts that Fang Ziye had brought over and examined them one by one.

"Isn't this carbon fiber motorcycle helmet a bit too much for the teacher's electric bike?" Jie Han pointed at it with a flamboyant air before carefully putting it down.

"You already have a motorcycle helmet, so why don't you hurry up and ask your wife for permission to get you a motorcycle?"

“Master is not very old,” Fang Ziye explained to Jie Han.

Yuan Weihong really wanted a motorcycle, the kind that would make him look cool when he rode it. Fang Ziye only found out about it by chance after spending two years honing his skills in clinical practice.

I can't afford a car, but buying a helmet as a starting point should be a good idea.

Jie Han suddenly realized: "Oh, it's not easy for an adult man to be a brother."

Fang Ziye rolled his eyes at Jie Han.

As they were talking, Yuan Weihong approached, carrying two bottles of wine. He casually closed the door and asked, "Have you ordered?"

Fang Ziye led the team, and Jie Han stood at attention, saying, "Master, we haven't lit it yet. We're just waiting for you."

Jie Han hadn't even had a chance to put his helmet back yet. Yuan Weihong stood on tiptoe to look and asked, "Xiao Jie, what are you holding in your hand?"

Jie Han slowly turned around, looking somewhat embarrassed.

Yuan Weihong waved his hand at Fang Ziye: "Go and call the waiter in, let's order first."

Then he took the helmet from Jie Han's hand: "This thing?"

When Yuan Weihong put on his helmet, which covered his high forehead, he looked quite handsome, yet also a bit simple-minded.

"Very handsome." Fang Ziye and Jie Han both gave a thumbs up.

"Would you like to order, boss?" The waiter, oblivious to the awkwardness, pushed the door open and entered, spoiling Yuan Weihong's mood.

He quickly took off his helmet and said, "Order, order..." But after ordering, when he told the waiter to bring the food, Yuan Weihong saw an exquisite gift box and frowned slightly, saying, "Are you two from such wealthy families? Giving two gifts at once."

Although professional master's degree graduates are included in the standardized residency training program and perform the same work as those in the program, they do not receive the same benefits. They only receive a minimum subsistence allowance of about 1,400 yuan per month, which is not even enough to cover Fang Ziye's rent.

Yuan Weihong stood up, walked over, and asked again, "How much does this cost? If it's not too expensive, I can give you a small service fee."

Before he could finish explaining the reimbursement of labor costs, Yuan Weihong opened the box.

In this day and age, it's no longer fashionable to quietly open gift boxes at home. Therefore, Yuan Weihong immediately noticed the octahedral pyramid trapezoidal tofu block inside.

"Master, the gift box was bought online for eleven yuan and one cent, and the tofu was bought behind the skills laboratory building for two yuan a lump."

"Thirteen yuan and one mao in total." Fang Ziye was about to settle the bill with Yuan Weihong.

Yuan Weihong glanced at Fang Ziye and pointed at him.

"Take care of your health. Eat the meat you buy if you can, don't waste it on the trash can." Yuan Weihong seemed to have eyes and ears, knowing everything Fang Ziye did.

Upon hearing this, Jie Han said, "Master, we all say that if Senior Brother doesn't become a doctor in the future, he would definitely be a top-notch dumpling mincer."

Fang Ziye frequently visits the vegetable market, and when practicing his cutting technique, he cuts the meat into almost cubes.

Materials used in surgery are definitely not edible, so every time Fang Ziye came to the department, he would freeze all the bags and throw them in the trash. The neighborhood where Fang Ziye rented a house happened to be the same one as Shu Lang, who was a second-year master's student.

Therefore, Shu Lang saw it and reported it to Yuan Weihong.

"And you?" Yuan Weihong looked at Jie Han, who was teasing Fang Ziye, and asked a probing question.

"Master, I've sent you the revised article that my senior brother and I worked on."

"Furthermore, I also wrote a letter during this time, which has been accepted and should be published soon. However, the article is too short and the content is too simple, so I didn't ask you to revise it."

SCI articles can be categorized into several types, including original research articles, reviews, opinion pieces, and letters (letters to editors).

Letter-type articles are short commentaries that analyze a previously published article in a journal, examining its topic selection, methodology, and results, identifying problems, and providing explanations.

Although it is not very useful, it requires a deep scientific research foundation to discover the problem and write to the editorial department. It is a small article that can be regarded as practice.

Sometimes, a certain number of articles are needed to build up and enhance one's own image.

Yuan Weihong was very happy that Jie Han, who was new to the team, was able to produce his own work in addition to revising articles: "Everyone is doing well, and our team is working hard."

After Yuan Weihong closed the gift box, he sat down and said, "Let's drink a little less today. Tomorrow is Professor Deng Yong's Teacher's Day, and we'll be going over there to receive his 'irrigation'."

"When you were students, you didn't have much time to drink. Now that times are getting better and better, we are no longer allowed to eat and drink excessively."

"We still need to focus more on our professional skills and scientific research; that's the key..."

"Ziye, actually you are under a lot of pressure."

"November is the time for our hospital's doctoral admission assessment. Moreover, starting from October, the application and interview process for doctoral applications at some universities in China will begin one after another, which will waste a lot of your time."

"It's already September 10th, and there are less than two months until November. If you add the time wasted in between, it might be less than a month. You can't put all your eggs in one basket and fight a desperate battle."

“You can still try out more opportunities outside. With your current skills, if you encounter a mentor who appreciates your expertise, your chances of getting a doctorate are very high…” Yuan Weihong seemed to be hinting at something.
