Chapter 27 Treasure Keeper Fairy
Chapter 27 Treasure Keeper Fairy
"Crack crack!"
The restraint straps broke one after another.
Spriggan's body expanded without limit, as if endless energy was being injected into its thin, withered skin. Its filthy flesh writhed, and in the blink of an eye, it grew to three times its original size.
A vibrant green light emanated from its eyes and abdomen. Spriggan gasped for breath, staggered to its feet, and let out a deafening roar.
"boom!"
The "Comerth" radiation irradiated the Mystics, and in them, the rules of Titan all failed!
Without any chemical reaction or energy conservation, Spriggan grows larger in a second simply because it was "born that way"!
It is not a fairy, but the ghost of a giant!
Lin An took a step back and shouted, "Hey, Minister, your mental patient is trying to escape!"
"what?!"
The minister and clerks turned around abruptly and saw that Spriggan's enormous body had filled the entire isolation room. It opened its blood-red maw and raised its two giant hands, each half a meter wide, and slammed them hard against the glass door.
"Boom!"
The glass, made of a special material, withstood the impact, vibrating violently, and fine cracks spread outwards.
"Roar--!"
Spriggan roared to the sky, scratching his head a few times with his root-like fingers, and two antlers burst out of his skull, piercing the incandescent light bulb at the top.
With a series of cracking sounds, the isolation room was plunged into complete darkness.
Not to mention Mishi and Barry, the two clerks were terrified. Fortunately, the minister was experienced and did not panic because of the mysterious person's strange behavior.
Without hesitation, he drew the gun from his waist, pointed it at the dark isolation room, and without stopping, moved to the side and opened the casing of the emergency button on the wall.
A piercing alarm blared throughout the entire building.
"Level 1 Yellow Alert! Level 1 Yellow Alert! The mysterious figure [Spriggan] has escaped from the isolation room! 'Defense Team', please proceed to Sector E on the second basement level for support!"
The alarm snapped the two clerks out of their shock. They raised their guns and aimed them in the direction of Spriggan. As one of them passed the three new employees, he turned back and shouted something.
"Retreat immediately! We'll hold them off here!"
Mishi froze in fear, trembling all over, while Barry stood there, seemingly still not quite processing what had happened.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The banging on the isolation room door became more and more frequent. Lin An grabbed the two men's arms and ran away.
I hadn't walked more than a few steps when I heard the sound of glass shattering behind me.
"Crack-!"
Spriggan breaks free of his restraints!
"Get down!" the minister roared hoarsely.
Shards of shattered glass were scattered everywhere. Lin An pressed them down onto their backs, making them crawl on the ground.
Hot, gunpowder-smelling wind whistled overhead, and the air was filled with the crackling of bullets. Bright, hot tongues of fire spewed from the muzzles of the civilian staff's guns.
The bullet, trailing a long, sparking tail, pierced the darkness, illuminating the grinning Spriggan.
On the floating panel, Lin An discovered that its pollution level had increased by 5%.
97.8%!
This mysterious figure is now close to death and is getting closer and closer to the "treasure-guarding fairy" in the legend!
"Ping, ping, ping, ping—!"
Three pistols fired simultaneously, the sound of gunfire ringing out, and bullets instantly riddled Spriggan with holes.
"Gulu..."
The monster trembled, but still took a step forward, its large foot stepping into the pale white light of the corridor.
Its body was covered with deep bullet holes, yet not a drop of blood was drawn from these wounds.
Instead, a faint green light emanated from Spriggan's wounds, just like its cold and cruel eyes. Its bark-like "skin," like a layer of damp, soft sludge, gurgled and writhed, repairing it to its original state at a speed visible to the naked eye.
It is not only a "fairy", but also a "ghost"!
"Damn it! Damn it!" the minister cursed. "Keep firing! The defensive squad will be here soon!"
Spriggan turned its strange head, making creaking noises. Its body grew larger and larger, making it almost impossible for it to stand. So it simply jumped out of the isolation chamber on all fours.
Everyone finally saw its complete form.
Unspeakable madness and chaos, a swollen body like a giant, an empty belly flashing with light, Spriggan lost all humanity and became an extremely filthy monster.
“Kill…kill…you all…”
It uttered incoherent sentences from its toothless mouth.
“I killed…everyone…I…want to return to…the Witch Lady…”
A pair of eyes without irises swayed left and right, locking firmly onto the minister closest to it.
"Click!"
The minister was both shocked and furious. He pulled the trigger, and two bullets accurately pierced Spriggan's forehead. Immediately afterward, his gun went blank.
He quickly threw it away, wanting to replace it with a new magazine.
Unaware of the blow to the head, Spriggan seemed to be ignited by the minister's struggle, letting out a loud "caw caw caw" laugh as his massive, half-man-high hand suddenly reached out towards the minister.
With the shadow of death looming, the minister inserted a new magazine and, almost desperately, aimed at the out-of-control monster once more.
"Ping, ping, ping—!"
The weapon that normally takes human lives so easily now, ironically, keeps piercing through Spriggan's chaotic body, leaving only smoking holes that quickly wriggle and heal.
The large hand moved with undiminished speed, casting a shadow over the minister's eyes.
If it grabs you, your flesh will burst open and you will die instantly!
Is it my turn...?
Taking a deep breath, the minister closed his eyes, straightened his back, as if he had been prepared to face death. Tick-tock…
Tick tock, tick tock...
Time continued to pass, but the expected pain did not come.
The minister opened his eyes in surprise, and the first thing he saw was a black feather falling from the sky.
Immediately afterwards, he saw Lin An's figure.
The young man blocked the minister's path, and some mysterious energy overflowed from his fingertips, transforming into a strange metal shield that resolutely blocked Spriggan's giant hand, preventing it from advancing any further.
However, even without Lin An, the out-of-control mysterious figure couldn't move a single finger.
The colder energy transformed into a moon-shaped longsword, easily cleaving Spriggan's body in two from left to right.
"Pfft!"
Like splattered flesh and blood, a dazzling necromantic light burst forth from Spriggan's two halves of body.
The out-of-control mystery unleashed a massive amount of violent energy, which spread wildly outwards, causing shards of glass to fly everywhere and clang against the walls.
The aftershocks of the fierce battle spread, causing a brief earthquake.
The entire space shook violently, and those who couldn't stand fell to the ground.
Lin An knelt on the ground, using one hand as an umbrella to shield himself from the fierce wind, and stared at the person holding the sword.
"Gudong..."
Spriggan's body collapsed to both sides, turning into a layer of boneless skin like mud, flowing all over the ground, making room for the person floating in mid-air behind him.
He looked like a teenager of fifteen or sixteen, with dark brown curly hair, fair skin, and handsome features. However, his silver eyes were full of vicissitudes, staring blankly ahead, with thick eyelashes casting unfathomable shadows.
The boy had a pair of deep silver, almost black wings, the feathers fluttering in the wind.
Angel……
No, fallen angel?
The boy's gaze met Lin An's, revealing both compassionate acceptance and ruthless indifference.
"Da da da."
Footsteps came from another room, and a team of people dressed in uniforms similar to those of Caroline's group rushed over; they were none other than the "Defense Line Squad" mentioned in the alarm.
Upon seeing this, they were taken aback at first, then politely nodded to the boy and spontaneously began to clean up the mess.
“That person is your future captain, Simon Lloyd.” The minister put his arm around Lin An’s shoulder. “Lin An, if I remember correctly?”
"it's me."
Watching the boy's figure disappear at the end of the corridor, Lin An helped the fallen minister up.
"That energy just now... Lin, do you feel like you've awakened a superpower?"
"maybe."
The minister dusted himself off, gave a few instructions to those around him, and then turned back to Lin An.
"Leave this to the professionals. Let's move to a safe place first. Please follow me, Lin."
He gestured to Mishi and Barry.
"Same for you."
…………
The eggshell, painted with bizarre patterns, shattered, and a lifelike rabbit sprang out.
Long, slender fingers pressed against its pink nose, and the surrounding scene distorted, with inscription-like patterns crawling up the rabbit's cheeks like ants.
The rabbit's blood-red eyes were numb and dazed, devoid of any awareness.
"Go, and reply to your master, oviparous rabbit."
A soft, husky voice rang out, it twitched its nose a few times, and hopped away.
"Hiss..."
A creature the size of an African python hung down from the ceiling, coiling around the woman's strong wrist. It was entirely coal-black, with the veins of its scales shimmering, and it looked extraordinary.
But strangely, this snake had the head of a rooster.
The bird's forked tongue protrudes from its beak, trembling slightly, which is indescribably disgusting.
“Basilica, my dear, are you in a hurry? Be patient, stay calm. Cooperating with the rumored Miss Esther may rescue your companions, but don’t forget my true objective.”
"Hiss hiss hiss..." The basilisk made a harmonym that was difficult to understand.
The woman giggled, kissing its cheek, her eyes burning with desire.
"Yes, it's dangerous. But she's offered an opportunity, so why should I waste it?"
The basilisk uttered broken words with difficulty.
"Witch... my lady... I am willing... to go through fire and water for you."
"So nice."
The woman gently stroked its cheek.
“Once we reach an agreement, you can go in my place, Baslica. Remember to be careful. I heard that the Moon Angel has returned to Dietrich. If he goes mad, he'll go on a killing spree, even sacrificing his own parents.”
"Hiss..."
The sound of its tongue flicking echoed through the night.
